Final Snow Pics (I hope!)

I had a few pics from our snow days that I never got around to posting. Since these pictures, it has snowed again and again! Lainie and Emmie go to school 2 days a week and have had either 4 or 5 snow days already. It has been the coldest, snowiest winter that I can remember. We are definitely ready for spring around here. The temps were in the 50's today and should be in the 60's tomorrow, so we are spending lots of time playing outside. It is so nice to enjoy the sunshine!

Valentine's Day 2010

Well, Valentine's Day/weekend didn't go exactly as planned. Emmie woke up Friday night around 9:30 throwing up and continued to do so every two hours until around 4:30 Saturday morning. It was the most pitiful thing to see her get sick. She was so scared and just cried and cried.....broke my heart. She had just gotten over a cold and double ear infection, so I felt so badly that she had to endure something else.
Lainie Bug also had a cold and started running fever on Saturday. She just coughed non-stop all weekend and could not sleep. I figured she probably had a double ear infection as well when she spiked a fever. Of course, after a visit to the pediatrician today, my thoughts were confirmed. Poor baby girl....hopefully she will be on the mend soon.
Needless to say, I have no cute pictures of them in their Valentine's outfits or opening their little gifts. We just stayed in our jams all weekend and let the girls rest. We did take them out for Mexican last night just to get out of the house since Emmie was completely better and Lainie just needed a change of scenery (along with her parents!) It was, however, nice to have a weekend where we just hung out with the girls and had no plans.
Of course, it snowed last night and is snowing AGAIN tonight so school is canceled tomorrow for the 5th time this month. Remember, the girls only go 2 days a week, and this is their 5th snow day! We literally have had more snow this year than I have ever had in one year during my lifetime. It is crazy! Kids don't even play in it anymore as it is just another snow day these days! It is beautiful, but I am completely over it at this point! Looking forward to spring around here!

Two Blessings

Here are some pictures that we had made in January. Emmie was 18 months old and Lainie Bug was 3 1/2. I remember looking at Lainie's 18 month pictures and thinking those were really the last ones we got where she still looked like a baby. She seemed to really start looking like a little girl by the age of 2.

I love the girls at their ages now for so many reasons, but I also think this might be the hardest stage of parenthood for me so far as well. While they can be so fun, they can also have their "moments!" Lainie is starting to use her voice to state her independence (is that a nice way to say it?) and Emmie is still throwing her tantrums to state hers too. She really is getting better each day, but she still has moments as you saw in my last post that prove she has an opinion and isn't scared to show it.

They play very well together sometimes, and fight like cats and dogs sometimes. However, not a moment goes by that I don't remember how blessed Justin and I truly are. God has blessed us with two beautiful, healthy girls who we adore. However, we aren't afraid to say that we need a night out every once in a while! :)
