Halloween Fun

Halloween is not really our favorite holiday in our little family. I used to enjoy dressing up but then it wasnt fun anymore when you have no where to go or no one even "trick or treats" to your door. But NOW it is so FUN! Halloween is so much better when you have a kid...old enough to get excited about it! We weren't sure if we were going to go "trick or treating" this year. We didn't know if Mak would care or even put on her costume. Spence (being the biggest Halloween hater) was actually the one who got us to go out! Mak wouldn't put on the Angel costume I had got her but she would wer her tutu and cowgirl boots! That was dressed up enough for me! We joined up with some friends in our complex with a boy the same age as Mak and they had a blast knocking on the few doors that were participating. We were the only people going around so the friendly folks were handing out handfuls to them! After only a few doors Mak was using both hands to carry her full pumpkin and would keep handing it to me or Spence. At this point I said, "She has enough if she can't even carry her own pumpkin!"

Spence and I were invited to an adults only Halloween party this year and Spence even got excited to dress up. He was so excited to be one of his favorite toys...a Lego Man!

"I'm 2!"

What a WEEK! This little girl has been a party animal the whole week of her birthday! Each day we got out and did something fun and it ended with a big birthday bash at my parents (Una and Kahuna)!
We spent the afternoon at the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science. This place is huge and there is so much to see and do! Great place for all ages!

Back to my parent's for dinner and party we had lots of good eats. I made Owl cupcakes and chicken cordon bleu Mummy. My mom made a yummy lasagna too! This lucky girl made out with some awesome gifts, lots of clothes, toy microphone, Elmo Rock Guitar, and Dora trike that speaks Spanish too! She was so excited opening each one and played all evening with them.

We Skyped my brother in Utah, she loves Bubba, and she would sing in her new microphone for him then hold it up to to his mouth on the computer screen and then he would sing. She did this over and over, we got the tail end of it on video, so cute.

This Birthday was so fun seeing her get excited about everything and knowing what to do like, opening presents and even blowing out her candles at the appropriate time!

We love this precious girl so much! She is so smart, funny, cute, independent, adventurous, resilient (or tough), and beautiful! It is a joy to see her learn and grow and we can't wait to see what funny or cute thing she does next!

It's a Boy! Baby Shower

My sister and mom hosted a baby shower for me in October. It was a jungle theme! My sister made these awesome cupcakes! They were so cute! All the food was delicious! They did a wonderful job!
I am also thankful for so many good friends that came! I had so much fun and think everyone else did too! Great people know how to have a good time!

Ness and Evan's Wedding in Utah

The begining of October we were able to go to Utah for Spencer's little sister's wedding! It was so fun to see all the family and be able to be there! Mak always has such a great time with her cousins!

Ducks and Park

One week I had made 50 tea sandwiches, you know the ones where you cut off the crust, and ended up with two bags stuffed with the crusts. I had this idea to save them and go to our friends ranch where they have a duck pond. We were so excited to take Mak, we asked our friends first if we could do this and they said, "Sure, I think the ducks know what to do." Well, those ducks didn't know what to do! They ran away from us or would wait a good distance away from us, too far for us to even throw the bread to them! But there were some huge mysterious fish that were gobbeling up the floating soggy pieces of bread. Mak quickly got bored and we moved on to their fun play ground. Guess those ducks didnt know what to do.

BFFs

Mak has lots of friends here. We get together with them at least once a week or more. Here is one day in our movie theatre at our complex dancing to Elmo's World. And the other is a day at the Zoo with her good buddy.

I Scream, You Scream

After crying and screaming through half my baby Dr appointment and being a curious angel the other half of it...I needed a treat...and I guess she did too.

Welcome Home Soldiers

Everyday at DFW there are arrivals and departures of soldiers. We went to Greet the Troops coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq. They arrive at their own separate gate that is decorated with uplifting, loving and welcoming signs and patriotic decorations. As arrival time gets closer the gate fills with hundreds of people to greet the arriving troop. After much anticipation of their arrival they come down the roped off aisle and shake hands with many of us. Some families and wives were there being reunited. Some had young babies with them who were probably meeting for the first time! It was a very special experience.
