The Oldroyd Family

This year, we decided to pack up and do Christmas at the cabin! And even better, the Walkers decided to join us. We headed out on Friday, December 19th and drove for 2 days to get there. The kids did so well! An hour or so before we got to the cabin, we stopped in Kanab for some groceries. The grocery store was darling and even had Mater's "cousin" out front! The Walkers got there late Saturday night and the kids were all so excited to see each other in the morning! Another fun thing that happened is that both of our family elves found us at the cabin! Christopher and Chester had a great time with all their shenanigans, like toilet papering the tree and ziplining from the loft!  We had so much fun making crafts...  Riding 4 Wheelers... (not enough snow for snowmobiles!) Playing games... And just hanging out and being silly!   Here we are on Christmas Eve Morning! For Christmas Eve dinner, Tiffany made the most delicious...

Dear friends & family, Christmas is around the corner and another year is passing where I'm taking the easy road and doing an e-card.  Maybe next year we'll get back to the real one!  Either way, we want each of you to know of our love for you. 2014 has been good to our family.  The obvious highlight was Lincoln Joseph joining our family in June.  He has been a light and a joy to all.  My heart overflows as I see how the 3 big kids just adore him, and Lincoln is smitten with them.   Here's a little update on each member of our family: Sam -  This amazing husband of mine just keeps working hard and is a wonderful provider & father.  He has enjoyed this last year working for Chevron, and we have enjoyed having him home more!  Even so, he's discovered that the work he enjoys is back in the tax world.  So we're heading back to Briggs & Veselka, his old tax firm.  His new/old job begins in the New Year...

This cute little guy turned 6 months old  last week!  I can't believe how the time is flying.  He had his well-check with Dr. McDavitt today.  Here are his stats: Weight: 17 lbs 13 oz (47th%)     Height: 27.5" (76th%)     Head:  18.35" (97th%) And big news... he's cutting his first tooth!  He's been refusing to drink bottles for about 4 days now so he's actually lost a little bit of weight.  Hopefully this tooth will pop through soon and we can get back to normal! More info about Linc at 6 months: Lincoln is almost always happy!  He fusses some but rarely cries.  And you can even get him to smile and laugh in the middle of being fussy! When he does cry, it is LOUD!  It's a mixture of crying and screaming. He loves to be sung to, especially by Alexa He grabs anything in his reach, especially faces and hair He pulls your face in for a big open-mouthed kiss! He loves to be tickled He wears 6-9 month clo...

Nathan & Max belt-tested for the first time tonight. They both did amazing! They advanced to Jr. Yellow Belts in their Little Ninjas class. We are loving TaeKwonDo at Fort Bend Martial Arts. The boys are both learning and growing so much!

We had a great Halloween this year! Here's our pumpkin carving night for Family Home Evening: I had a blast with my little fireman at his preschool party!  We had a great time eating Chili & hot dogs at the Lee's and then trick-or-treating!

We took a quick family getaway to Corpus and had so much fun visiting the U.S.S. Lexington Battleship!

This handsome boy is 2 years old today. He is such a good dog & we love him to pieces!

Lincoln turned 4 months old on the 4th. He is such a happy guy! All about Linc at 4 months: Lincoln is a very chatty little guy!  He makes lots of fun noises and is going to have a lot to say when he figures out this language thing! He started rolling from tummy to back at about 3 1/2 months He drinks 5, 5oz bottles a day & is a pretty good napper but still wakes up & wants his binky in the night and early morning hours. He's quick to smile and almost always happy He loves to kick and splash in the bath He loves the feel of his hair! Often has his hands in his mouth He loves when his brothers & sister talk to him & play with him Is wiggly!  I think he'll definitely be more mobile at a young age than his siblings were! Has huge blue eyes - that's the first thing people say about him! Loves music, lights & watching Baby Einstein  He's very ticklish He loves kisses and snuggles! He'll grab mine or Sissy's hair and chance he ...

We have a new cousin. Welcome to the family, Isabelle Joy Allen!

Just found Nathan's artwork on the desk. Cutest thing ever. On the right it says that number 4 broke his leg and he can't play for the rest of the season. I love my little BYU fan!

Oakland Elementary had "Pink Out" day today to support the fight on Breast Cancer. Since our very own Grandma Joan is fighting this battle right now, we want to do all we can to support the cause. Even Nathan happily wore a pink shirt!

Maxwell, Lincoln, and I were able to take a little trip to Utah. We missed Nathan, Alexa, & Daddy, but it was nice to get away and spend time with family! Here's Lincoln with his Great Grandmas! We had a lot of fun and didn't take enough pictures. We got to go to a baby shower, swim in Uncle Rex's pool, go to Taylor's soccer game, and spend a lot of time with family. It was a great trip!

I've been playing Sesame Street Memory with Max a lot lately. He beats me EVERY TIME! And I am even trying! I love this cutie.

Nathan & Max started at Fort Bend Martial Arts today. We're so excited to get them involved in this sport, and they can't wait to learn how to be ninjas!

Lincoln is 3 months old today! Couldn't be any cuter!

Maxwell's first day of Pre-K was today. He is so excited to be returning to Ms. Vanessa's Learning Garden. He'll go each Tuesday & Thursday from 9am - 2pm. I can't believe he'll be in Kindergarten in just 1 more year!

Alexa started dance today at Connolly Dance Arts. She is SO excited and loved her first day! I can't wait to see how much she learns and grows this year!
