That's my answer. The question? What did you do to yourself?? So here I am, the only non-20something at this party at one of those inflatable jumpy places. Ok, so I'm less than a year from a 20-something but still. We line up for the girls' relay race through the inflatable obstacle course. I watch all the tiny little champs leap over the barricades like gazelles. It's my turn. I go scrambling in, over the first barricade. Phew. Now for the next one. I flop myself over and feet land first but at a horrible angle. I crumble to the floor and right then and there I know I have another most embarrassing moment (MEM) on my hands. (Yes, they happen often enough it has an acronym.) I know my feet are toast and I can't walk so I just sit there and try to decide what to do next. Soon enough I'm discovered and I'm hoisted out by 4 med students. Now here I am, scooting, crawling and rolling around my house and I just keep laughing at how ridiculous I must look. And now I'm lying on the floor staring up at my bed, wondering how I'm going to get all the way up there because the thing looks like a skyscraper.
X-Rays don't lie... 2 broken feet.

Morris Family Fun (aka Trasher Reunion)
Devin's family has nicknamed themselves "the Trashers" because they'll often invade someone else's home and then invite other family members to also come to the party. I love it. We wanted to go up to Utah to see Whitney, Devin's sister that recently returned the from Samara, Russia mission. It was a great time for the entire fam to get together so we talked Devin's Aunt Patty and Uncle Hal into hosting our family reunion. :) They were totally good sports and always had a soft bed and hot meal waiting for us. Patty and Hal had served a mission in Russia so we got out their fur hats for the mission storytelling. I think this is a good look for Devin.

We also went to the Carl Bloch exhibit at the MOA (don't miss this if you are in the area, you'll kick yourself every time you see a Carl Bloch painting in Sunday School which is more often that you might think). Then everyone met in the afternoon at the Wilkinson center and we had a heated bowling competition.

Uncle Taylor and dinner at Zupa's. I love Provo dining. I'm not kidding. (Check out Whitney's cute boyfriend! I can say that b/c I'm pretty sure he doesn't read my blog.)

On Saturday we went to the BYU-Air Force game where BYU easily won. Eva loved to sing the fight song along with 22,000 other BYU fans. Her favorite word is now "Jimmer". (But her favorite phrase is "Don't tell Mommy". Hmmmmmmm.)

That night we had an Iron Chef competition at Aunt Patty's. And the secret ingredient? ORANGES. We split into teams and planned our appetizer and dessert (we collaborated on the main course, Orange Chicken, thank you Panda Express, we didn't want to mess Patty and Hal's kitchen up too bad)and then headed to the grocery store to buy our ingredients. We went back out to Patty and Hal's where we began our competition.
Team 1 consisted of Whitney, Joan, Tom and Jon and Team 2 consisted of the two Sara(h)'s and Devin. Andrew, Patty and Hal were our judges.
Team 1 prepared Baja citrus shrimp with an orange dipping sauce for their appetizer and orange flavored chocolate cake baked in an orange garnished with whipped cream and a chocolate orange for dessert.
Team 2 presented an avocado wonton with an orange dipping sauce for appetizer
and a citrus fruit cobbler topped with orange flavored whipping cream for dessert.
After much deliberation Team 2 won by 2 points.
We had such a wonderful time together. A big THANK YOU to Patty and Hal for hosting the Trasher Family Reunion. Who wants to host next year? ;)
That night Morris family all left and we headed up to Aunt Gayle's for some Palmer Girls time. Angie made us all this sweet food and said we were going to "eat like Italians" which meant all day. It was awesome. I wasn't going to post this pic but I just can't help myself.

Where it all began...
Devin decided to spend a night in the dorms on Thursday night with Taylor. Taylor just happens to live in the same dorm room that Devin lived in so Devin was able to relive old BYU-times eating at the Cannon center and going to classes with Taylor on Friday. We met up with them at the BYU Bookstore. When Eva heard she was going to BYU it was like the kid was going to Disneyland. She was so beyond excited. And the fact that it was just a bookstore didn't seem to bother her. She ran around pointing out all the Y's and paw prints. Just today she saw a kid with a BYU shirt and said, "It's BYU Cougars!". She can recognize the BYU logos anywhere, all of them.

Where it all began...
Vegas, Baby.
Here we go with our Vegas Christmas post. I flew out with the kids on Christmas Day and left Devin all by his lonesome for a week. The flight did nothing but live up to my worst expectations. Sophie cried for the entire second flight (about 5 hours when you include pre-board). So mortifying. The poor 25-yr-old guy next to me had a merry Christmas I'm sure. But his mom did offer to switch him seats half way through but he stuck it out with me. I had to reassure him that flying with kids is the worst thing you'll ever have to do as a parent, and I'm sticking with that. I get more anxiety over flying than I do over giving birth! But they can't dump us our half-way over Oklahoma so we made it in one piece. And there were grandparents, sisters and cousins galore to greet us!
RyRy and Soph, the cousins/grandparents.

PalmerGals, Mickey/Minnie dolls for Christmas.

Toms all around! All the rage in the West, we all got a new pair, even Eva! I have to say I have worn mine almost every day.

Sophinator.

Auntie Julie with the munchkins, baby food party!

Cooking with Grandma.

Sharing a snack with Lexi.

2-story playhouse nearing completion thanks to Uncle Cameron.

3 story chandelier at new hotel the Cosmopolitan, Breakfast AND lunch at the Wicked Spoon Buffet. Incredible. Much has changed in Vegas since the good ole' Circus Circus buffet.

Much thanks to mom and Julie for watching Eva and Sophie. We had a full 24-hours off and went to the Lion King and stayed at the Paris Hotel for a night. Words can't explain how nice it was and I think the kids enjoyed the break from us as well. My mom and Julie said they had a blast. Win-win? I think so.

Trips to the dam to see the new bridge. Devin, Sara and Jon biked down the hill from BC, past the lake, through railroad tunnels to the dam. If you're ever in town it is a great ride. And my dad will be on his way to pick you up at the bottom before you've even formulated the words to ask him to do it.

Wind blown on the bridge, SCARY!
