One of the perks of being a pharmacist is people bringing you gifts. Usually in the dessert genre and around the holidays. I have one lady who buys things buy 1 get 1 free and gives me the free one. She doesn't really get it that you can get just 1 half price. Another brings peanuts. Whatever. I enjoy it. Well today I got the strangest gift. I was a little busy and a guy dropped off 4 prescriptions right after a lady dropped off 3. I was by myself so I told him 15-20 minutes. He responded, "How about I give you a gift to do it faster?" Whatever. So he brings me a rug. Yep. You read that right. A oriental rug. It's about the size of a welcome mat. Ok. Thanks sir.
On another note, my friend Jessica wrote a hilarious blog about pharmacy. Seriously read it. I am not kidding you, this happens every single day. Not all one person, sometimes each person does at least one. However, sometimes you have that fabulous customer who follows exactly this. Please read it. You will be more sympathetic to me when I get off work. On a brighter note, I do think I have developed better patience. Some days more so than others.

Random Thoughts
I bet you are wondering, "Sarah why won't you post pictures of New York City girls trip?" Hold your horses. The answer is someone whom I will not name took my camera this weekend to a bachelor party so I can't post. However, it was a fabulous trip and I can't wait to blog about it.
Next thought. My friend Laura Beth has some very funny posts on the "hip" factor. Sometimes I fear I will be that girl who just can't get out of the 80s or in my case probably the 90s or 2000s. You know the girl, big hair, curled bangs, the whole get up. Don't you wish you could tell her? Please tell me!!!
To help cure my empty house syndrome without the husband this weekend, my good friend Lauren is coming over tonight to watch a movie and eat dinner with me. We are going to watch Rachel Getting Married. I've heard mixed reviews so I am excited to judge for myself.
I have been a little under the weather this week so I haven't done much outside of work. Rest seems to be my best therapy. I'm feeling better and working all weekend and Monday. I love being a pharmacist! Truly I do like my job, I just hate ALL the facebook posts about being so happy it's Friday when really it is my Monday. So goes life.
Hope everyone not working is having a good weekend. Those of you who are working, I feel your pain.

My "Green"ish thumb
A couple of days ago I had a flower day. It was our first pretty day of Spring so I seized the day. I fumbled around a nursery and Lowes and ended up with this. The post is mostly for my mom because she wanted to see but I think it may be boring for others. Sorry.

I think these are azaleas in our front yard. We also have a camelia bush/ tree by our door that is gorgeous. It wasn't in full bloom when I took this picture though. I love blooming trees and bushes.
Impatiens by the front door.
This was a huge bed that was weedy and gross. Some of these flowers are doing well now, others not so much. It's a work in progress.
Same bed other end, tomatoes and cilantro. I hope I get some tomatoes!
Dogwood in our back yard. Beautiful.
My pansies are on their last leg. Newly planted petunias, basil, and mint. I have always wanted to have an herb garden, so we'll see how it goes!

Liz and Steve Get Married
Steve is Jewish, so they did this chair thing and the circle dancing. Awesome. The boys said it was harder than it looked. :)
Easter/ Passover wedding makes for an interesting group! Steve's brother said it right as the Passover Seder Easter Pig Pickin Feast. The Rehearsal dinner was on Friday night at the family farm. Kathy and Eddie did a great job hosting even when the cows broke through the fence the night before and ate all the flowers, tipped tables, and did what they did best all over their yard- lots of cow patties! They pooper-scooped their way through the day and it turned out beautiful. The tent was great since we got a slight sprinkle. Much better than predicted!! A full pig on the grill was interesting to say the least to the Jewish crowd. The wedding was pink and green with gorgeous flowers. We had the ceremony then went to cocktail hour then the room was transformed into reception. Fabulous wedding with a great band. The best part though was spending time with family. We laughed and laughed and laughed. Great weekend.

Arise, My Love
I am never moved by songs. I'm just not. However, this one gets me every time. I had forgotten about it until the Imperials came to my church and sang it. I listen to it a couple times a week and get tears every time. That's impressive. I was running on the treadmill at the gym this week with tears rolling down my face. I think it was Lent that got me. There is a no better song for Easter morning.
Arise, My Love
Not a word was heard at the tomb that day.
Just shuffling of soldiers feet as they guarded the grave.
One day, two days, three days had past.
Could it be that Jesus breathed his last?
Could it be that his Father had forsaken him?
Turned his back on his son, dispising our sin.
Oh hell seemed to whisper, "Just forget it, He's dead."
Then the Father looked down to his son and he said..
Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you
No more death sting
No more suffering
Arise...Arise...my love.
The Earth trembled and the tomb began to shake, and like lightening from Heaven
The stone was rolled away.
And this dead man the guards they all stood there in fright
As the power of love displayed its might
And suddenly a melody filled the air
Riding wings of wind, it was everywhere
The words of creation had been longing to hear.
The sweet sound of victory, so loud and clear.
Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you.
No more death sting no more suffering
Arise...arise....
Sin, where are your shackles?
Death, where is your sting?
Hell; has been defeated. The grave will not hold, the king.
Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
Arise....Arise....Arise

Date Night
Adam and I had a very fun date night on Friday night. We try really hard but don't do it enough. We started at Gilbert's in Midtown. Really cool place. Mom, they had the tin stars hanging lights that you really like. Great set up right by Piedmont Park. They have a garage like door that opens so it feels as though the restaurant is outside with the fresh air. Neat spot, even better food. Adam and I both loved what we got. Our waiter was fabulous too. Overall wonderful experience and we plan on going back regularly. Monday nights entrees are half price. Awesome.
Next stop was Whole World Theatre. It's an improv show that was incredible. They are so stinkin talented. People walked around before the show asking what impressions we would want to see, along with emotions, actors, type, etc. Holy cow was it funny. As expected, Adam always likes live theater more than he thinks he will. It was really great. We plan on adding it to our "to do with guests" list. Thursday night it is cheaper too because it is apprentice comedians. It was just $20 a ticket though and money well spent.
I so enjoy spending time one on one with Adam. We had great conversation and enjoyed spending carefree time together. We both wish we did it more often.

Coffee Shops
Adam and I are sitting at Get Coffee by our house. It's only a mile and a half away and we just discovered it! We couldn't be happier. We are surrounded by Starbucks with 3 very close and thought that was our destiny. However, we have been sitting on the porch of this place with Colby attached to our table. They allow dogs! Awesome! I prefer to never leave Colby on my day off so this is fabulous! We have resolved to come here often. There is not much I like better than a lot of books in my bag, my computer, sitting with my husband with only wanted distractions. Nothing at home staring me in the face of things I should be doing instead of reading and studying. I love it. To top it off, Adam and I are going on a promising fun date tonight. I'll let you now tomorrow. Have a good Friday!

mother theresa's prayer:
may today there be peace within. may you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. may you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. may you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. may you be content knowing you are a child of God. let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love. it is there for each and every one of us.
