Meeting Great Grandma

I love these pictures of Liam with my Grandma. I have always been very close to my grandpa and grandma. They used to spend a couple of months a year with us in Texas in their motor home. They are dear to me. We lost my grandpa last December and I still miss him every day. I used to talk to him at least once a week and not doing so leaves a big gaping hole. He would have loved Liam and Liam would have loved him. I'm so happy he got to meet grandma- his namesake. Grandma's maiden name is Setter, which is Liam's middle name.

Newborn Photos

These pictures are from our newborn session with the very talented Paige Knudsen. We loved working with her and are so happy with the pictures we got. I know there are a lot of these but I couldn't choose which ones to post! Thanks Paige! Liam is about a month old since he was in the nicu for the early part of his newborn-ness.

Halloween

I had to document Liam's first Halloween even if it is mid November. Oh well.
 Image
I had to work, so Adam and my mom held down the fort. Adam was a farmer, Liam was a pea in a pod, and Colby was a pumpkin. Pretty cute if you ask me! Adam took Liam to his very first Halloween party and my mom and Colby stayed back to hand out candy to trick or treaters.

Colby looks angry in this picture. I can't imagine why?? He's been a pumpkin for 4 years now and I giggle every single time I see him in that costume.

Liam- 3 Months

ImageImage
Since Liam is about to be 4 months next week, time to get this posted. I have a whole new respect for mommy bloggers. When on earth do you have time to do this??? I've been told we'll settle in and I will figure some of these things out but goodness this post has taken me a month! I think I've sat down to work on it 15 times.

Firsts:
-Braves game
-airplane ride
-wedding
-5K race
-Carson-Newman football game
-trip to Talbott to see Mimi and Granddaddy

Image

Big Achievement:
-meeting the relatives
-holding my head up
Image

Sleeping:
-one night went 7 hours but usually wakes up twice at night
-naps longest when held but he'll sleep about 30 min by himself

Image
Sizes:
-newborn and 0-3 months

Like Mommy:
-likes to sleep in. He usually sleeps until about 9:30 or 10am

Like Daddy:
-stays up late at night. He's really alert in the evenings. This stresses me out because all the books say he should go to bed at 7:30!

Mommy's Favorite:
-more readily giving smiles

Daddy's Favorite:
-eyes tracking around the room

Typical Day:
I love my days with Liam! He's still really sleepy so is only awake for about 1.5 hours before he's ready for a nap again. The hard part is he doesn't like to be put down! I used to think this was a Liam issue but now I think it's a first time mom issue. I feel like all my friend's first child was like this too. I'm thinking it's me just having a hard time letting him cry! So for now, I hold him a lot. I know he'll only be little once. We go on lots of walks and rock on the porch. We read books and talk and sing. I try to really soak up my time with him. On the day before I went back to work, we went to the park and sat on a blanket and I just sobbed. :) I know every mom goes through this when she goes back to work. I'm adjusting but it still is not fun.

Biggest Challenge:
For sure, my going back to work. It has been HARD. I just miss him so much during the day! We have been lucky enough to have my mom then Vickie with us for the whole time so far though! We also had to find a new pediatrician. We loved ours. The practice changed to primary care though so we had to leave.
