Since Liam is about to be 4 months next week, time to get this posted. I have a whole new respect for mommy bloggers. When on earth do you have time to do this??? I've been told we'll settle in and I will figure some of these things out but goodness this post has taken me a month! I think I've sat down to work on it 15 times.
Firsts:
-Braves game
-airplane ride
-wedding
-5K race
-Carson-Newman football game
-trip to Talbott to see Mimi and Granddaddy
Big Achievement:
-meeting the relatives
-holding my head up
Sleeping:
-one night went 7 hours but usually wakes up twice at night
-naps longest when held but he'll sleep about 30 min by himself
Sizes:
-newborn and 0-3 months
Like Mommy:
-likes to sleep in. He usually sleeps until about 9:30 or 10am
Like Daddy:
-stays up late at night. He's really alert in the evenings. This stresses me out because all the books say he should go to bed at 7:30!
Mommy's Favorite:
-more readily giving smiles
Daddy's Favorite:
-eyes tracking around the room
Typical Day:
I love my days with Liam! He's still really sleepy so is only awake for about 1.5 hours before he's ready for a nap again. The hard part is he doesn't like to be put down! I used to think this was a Liam issue but now I think it's a first time mom issue. I feel like all my friend's first child was like this too. I'm thinking it's me just having a hard time letting him cry! So for now, I hold him a lot. I know he'll only be little once. We go on lots of walks and rock on the porch. We read books and talk and sing. I try to really soak up my time with him. On the day before I went back to work, we went to the park and sat on a blanket and I just sobbed. :) I know every mom goes through this when she goes back to work. I'm adjusting but it still is not fun.
Biggest Challenge:
For sure, my going back to work. It has been HARD. I just miss him so much during the day! We have been lucky enough to have my mom then Vickie with us for the whole time so far though! We also had to find a new pediatrician. We loved ours. The practice changed to primary care though so we had to leave.
