Boating... Always an "experience" for us!!

Well I guess the best time to renew a commitment to blogging would be when something eventful happens and you feel like writing about it a little. I technically can't say I'm really going to commit to blogging regularly, but yeah, well... anyways our day was something that I'm sure I'd like to laugh about in a year or so. Actually it's not even that bad that I can't laugh at it today, it's just our "luck" I guess you could say.

So we decided last night that we might take the boat out to Sand Hollow today since we had some gas left over from the fourth of July trip we took to Lake Mead. There is a mussel problem in Sand Hollow right now and to be safe any time you take your boat to certain lakes you have to "decontaminate" it before you can boat in any local lake. So we hadn't done that yet either and needed to go to Sand Hollow to get the boat cleaned anyways. Well we got out of the house around 10am and as we got about to the top of Telegraph we heard something, sure enough one of the tires on the trailer was blown out. We were really in a perfect spot to pull off and park the boat to fix it. We get out and look around for the spare but the spare isn't on the trailer or in the truck!! So we had to leave the boat on the side of the road and head home to get the spare. We drive all the way back home, which is kinda far, and
Hmmmm no spare, we must have left it in the suburban when we sold it!!! UGHHHH... No biggie, we have to fix it, cause the boat is just parked in front of somebody's house and we need to get it. So we drive back to the boat and the tool that we have in the truck isn't the right size to get the wheel off. So now it's off to WalMart to get a jack tool. We drive back to the boat and get the wheel off so we can take it back into town and have it fixed.

It was such a hot day today.. and the kids really did a great job of keeping the fighting to a minimum. It took us till about 2:30 to get back on the road, and headed over to the lake. With all the ruckus we didn't even think that we needed to blow up the tube before we went out on the lake, but we forgot. We were sooooo HOT, that we just ended up dropping the anchor and swimming for a really long time. It felt really good. Those are the funnest times, when we're all just floating around in the water and laughing. I love it!!! The kids just kept climbing on the boat to jump off and try to do tricks into the water.

Soooo... a bad day, no..... just as we love to do, we took the longest route possible to get something done. I think we just naturally do things the "hard" way. But oh well, that's us!

Celise and a friend have been so busy making things to sell at the farmers market tomorrow. It's at Ancestors Square from 8-12, if you are in town you should go see them. They are so cute and their stuff is way cute too!! Celise has been sewing like crazy making aprons and headbands and her friend has been making some really cute hair things.

Voice Lesson Recital

The girls did so good last night at their first recital. They are getting so big and these days are really a lot of fun. We sure love watching them perform. Celise also had her piano recital, but she did not want to be recorded. She was amazing though, I had not doubts about her, she practices so much.

Our little stud!

Tonight Austin had his second baseball game of the season and he did really good. He came in as the pitcher with two outs and bases loaded, he had the pitch count at a full count, and struck the hitter out! The last inning when he got up to the plate he got an amazing hit right up the middle, but unfortunately one of his best friends made a great catch and got him out.

The game was so fun to watch, we didn't win, the final score was 5-4, but Austin had a blast and just couldn't stop smiling! It was awesome to see him so confident and proud!

This is the first year he's had the chance to pitch, and he's doing great. The first game he came in for two innings and struck out all the batters. In the two games, he hasn't let a runner score! Pretty FUN!!!

I recorded this from my laptop, so I didn't get very good shots.

Some photos as of late, or a while ago.. both really. We're doing great, just living, which is busy in these times where all the kids are in school and I'm teaching and David is working hard. We do manage to find time for each other, and I think right now that's all that matters. I had a friend comment to me the other day about our kids and how close they are (maybe seem to be fits better... JK). She said "you must spend a lot of good time with each other, your family seems really close and connected". This is a girl who doesn't know us that well, I just eat lunch with her everyday, but it made me think that nothing else really matters right now. Just spending time together and building the kids relationships with each other so they will always be close and good friends as adults.

Been a while...

I have been terrible at journaling our lives lately and even as I sit here trying to do other really important and pressing things, I feel that I want to just catch myself up a little. I have taken on the HUGE task of doing the school pictures for the Elementary school that I work at. Oh wow, I feel like I have a Que of HUGE tasks, as soon as I complete one, another Que's up and is ready for me to take it on full force. I really hope this is the last of them for a while. Soo, since I have been at the school working on them and burning CD's since about 10am, I can take a break.

I don't think I ever posted about our new home! Our first house and we love it!! We love working on our house and just the feeling of home-ownership is something that we thought wouldn't be able to experience for a really long time. I'll have to post pics sometime. I really don't think I have even taken any. Need to do that.

We have had a couple of birthdays in the last few weeks. The girls turned 8 and Celise is now 12. It really is scary to see them growing up so fast, and the way the weeks just fly by us... OH MY, I really hope I'm not taking these days for granted. For Celise's birthday we set up the projector out on our newly sodded lawn and she invited friends over to watch a movie. It was soo much fun, and fun to see her interact with all of the girls, just fun! She is AMAZING, that girl, she always does what I ask her to do. Never a whine or complaint, she just does it. She also is so responsible with her Diabetes. She used to forget almost everyday to do the things she needed to do to take care of herself, but she is really maturing in that way too. I love my kids so much!!!

The school that my kids go to and I teach at is a preforming arts school and it is time next week for their winter programs. They have Musical Theater, Ballet, and Choir in the show. I cannot wait to see that. I'll post pics.

Ohhhh, I should get back to work.... Just wanted to take some time out.
