Traditions!

I'm all about traditions as you all might know, and I remember taking the Christmas pictures with everything you recieved on Christmas morning. So, I do the same thing with my own kids!

There are a few other traditions that will always remind me of Christmas's growing up...Oakridge Boys(Of course) Wassail,Cheerio Christmas trees,Awesome Stockings that my mom would stuff full of the greatest stuff,lifesaver books,and newspapering the doorway so we couldn't peek!I have this one memory of the year my brothers got remote control cars, and I got a baby in a walker that I could control, and all morning my baby wouldn't go the way I wanted.Come to find out my brothers could control my doll! They were mean, and would make my baby roll down the stairs!I have good memories of Christmas time when I was younger. My dad or I guess I should say I started a tradition for my dad, that he gets me and my sister pajamas every year. I love it! He always picks the best pajamas! ( Except this year dad, you bought my pajamas way too big!)What the heck?

Mykelle's Christmas

Mykelle really loves animals. Last year, Aunt Jessica gave Trey this hard hippo that Mykelle was obsessed with. It's really Mykelle's toy now! Anyway, she borrowed our neighbors Polar bear that was kind of like the hippo except for it made noise. She LOVED it. So the last couple months she kept saying how bad she wanted one! They are so cheap, I wanted to just go get her one, but she has plenty of toys, so I decided to wait until Christmas!Come to find out it was a popular toy, and was sold out everywhere. Well, my mom happened to have one that she was going to give to Mykelle. After talking with my mom about what Santa was going to bring Mykelle, she let me buy it from her. On Christmas morning, she was so Happy!!!Her excitment was priceless. Christmas is so much fun when you have kids!She is starting to get really into it! I love it!

Trey's Christmas

Trey loved his presents! The main thing we got him, was this ball game. The balls go through all the tunnels and stuff. The next thing we got him that we knew he would love, was a cell phone! BUT, the main thing HE loved, was climbing on top of the box from one of his presents!

He still likes his ball game, but he doesn't like his cell phone because he knows its not real.If I tell him "No Trey", then he likes it!

Cookies for Santa

We did all of our usual traditions... Open jammies on Christmas Eve,read the night before Christmas,make cookies for santa, leave carrots for the reindeer. Except this year we left Root beer for santa! That is what he really wanted! We also left the reindeer some oats this year!Ohhh yeah, and we left Santa a cheese ball! We wanted to change it up this year!

TRAX to Temple Square

We rode TRAX down to see the lights at temple square before Christmas, and it the kids loved it! Trey was so tired though. If you can't tell by those big sleepy eyes. We went with our friends and neighbors the Garns. It was fun! Trey fell asleep once we got to the temple, but the rest of us enjoyed looking at the beautiful temple and all the lights!

After the picture with Trey's big eyes, I left my camera on the train. Thank goodness for honest people, someone turned it in! I was very thankful!

So every year at Christmas on the Scott side, the kids act out the nativity scene. Mykelle was supposrd to be the camel, but last minute she decided she didn't want to be a camel she wanted to be a Llama. So that she was...

Mykelle's Christmas Dress

Mykelle looked so beautiful in her Christmas dress! Stacie( My friend and neighbor) made this dress for her! She did such a great job! Mykelle loved it too!

This is an old pic, but I love it! She is so cute!


I had a very busy day today, and I sat down on the couch to take a break for a few minutes, and I asked Mykelle if she would go get her jammies on. She said Yes, and she came down and said "Mom give me a kiss! You are the best mom ever! I PECIATE everything you do for me!" It was SO SWEET, and something I never want to forget! It makes me so sad that she is growing up so much! I love her she is the best thing that has happened to us! and Trey too!

A friend shared this touching e-maiil....


I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please," was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse."
"Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door."

Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
"You never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"


He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree. I picked 'em cuz they are pretty like you...

I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."


He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
So what is behind the story?

Festival of Trees

Alliyah and Mykelle had so much fun together at the festival of trees on saturday! So did I! I think Seth,Dawn and Daryl.....not so much! Thanks for going with me though babes! And for driving so far! Trey and Alliyah screamed NO at each other the whole time they were in the wagon together! Little stinkers!

A day in the snow!

Although Seth shoveled the driveway in the morning, it was full of snow again an hour later! Poor Seth...

sNow DaY

It snowed so much on Saturday, so we decided to play in the snow!! It was fun!
I actually was having fun trowing snow at Seth, and playing with the kids, but Seth was busy shoveling!

I used to hate playing in the snow, but ever since Seth bought us nice snow suits and snow boots, I LOVE IT!

Trey loves Mykelle's truck! He played in it the whole time!

I cut my hair AGAIN...

I know, I always say I'm going to grow it out, but I CAN'T! I just get so tempted to cut it1 It is so easy when it is short, but I love being able to pull it back! uhhh...whats a girl to do!?

EmilY's CuTe hEadbaNds!

Emily made the cutest handbands, and Mykelle and Tay loved wearing them! Mykelle and Taylor are so cute together, and love taking pictures with each other! I love these pictures! and Em's headbands!

TreY LoVes sHoes

Trey loves to try on everyones shoes! I came downstairs one afternoon, and he had Mykelle shoes on! It was so funny! He is always trying to put on whatever shoes get left on the floor!
