SNOW!

10 days or so ago it snowed 15 inches! We had a day off school and that was fun. We watched the Disney documentary movie "Bears", made snow ice cream and puffy paint. It's always so pretty when it snows and then reality hits- we have to shovel the drive way, side walks, getting out the door takes a million times longer with snow boots and winter gear. Now that we got our 15 inches in a day and the kids had a blast playing in all the snow, I'm ready for the sun, warm temperatures and spring!

Once Gabe saw Grace's babies- he brought out his baby doll too.
Boys can play with dolls too. He's gong to be an awesome daddy one day!

He was a good snowman while he lasted... only his bottom is left now.

Next day- snow ice cream!

I had a bite- it was really good! Taste just like vanilla ice cream!

Painting with "puffy paint"
(equal parts white glue and shaving cream. When it dries, it's puffy!)

Gabe's snowman. He made this 100% by himself!

Later she added two feet so it could be like Olaf.

We had leftover puffy paint so I added some red food dye, cut out big heart shapes and let them paint that. Most of our projects aren't planned and it really only takes a few minutes to gather supplies and figure something out.

100 Days of Kindergarten

Image

This girl has been in kindergarten for 100 days now. Can you believe it? I can't. Just a year ago I was set on having her go to preschool for one more year. I was talked out of it and I have had no regrets sending her to kindergarten this year. She's grown so much and I'm so proud of her. She loves going to school, works hard and even came home with a perfect report card. She's a little reader and today announced when she came home from school that her teacher gave her "first grade books to read".  I will always wish I had one more year at home with her before school started, but I couldn't be more happy with how well she is doing in kindergarten this year....

even if that means staying up late and ironing on 100 jewels for her 100 days shirt!
