First Day of Summer Break

We started our summer vacation with a trip to Bear Lake. A friend invited us to her condo at Ideal Beach. We had a blast! The weather at home was cold and yucky and for some wonderful reason we had great weather at the lake. It did get a little chilly at times but we all came home with sunburns.

Avery's Service Program

During the whole school year the second graders work on different service projects. They went to The Assisted Living Center and sang to the residents, made quilts for DCFS, raked leaves for the school and made school kits to sent to Haiti, to name a few. During the program they sang cute songs and showed a slide show of the kids working on the projects.

Avery's 8th B-Day

Avery has been so excited for her birthday this year. Everyday she would tell me that she really just wanted a Zhu-Zhu pet. Well being the lame, out of it parent that I am, had NO clue what that was. After going to every store in our area I couldn't find one! I still had 1 1/2 weeks left till her birthday but was feeling a bit panicky. I didn't want to disappoint my little princess so I ordered one from Amazon.com. I got the package from Amazon then went to Walmart to get some other stuff and they were unloading hundreds of dumb Zhu Zhu pets and they $4 cheaper. Oh well, as long as she's happy.

Mother's Day

I hate posting about Mother's Day because I don't like when people compare or brag about what they did for their mom or what was done for them as a mother. It isn't about what we gave or got but more about the celebration of having or being a mother. It's a time to reflect and show appreciation to our mothers for the things they've done in our lives. Now having said that I still have to record what my children did for me cause this is my journal. All three girls had made card or little poems at school and they gave them to me Sunday morning. They were being all secretive and whispering and hiding in Tylee's room all morning. I was getting a annoyed cause they were suppose to be getting ready for church. Well, when we got home from church and went up to change and found a room full of balloons and little signs. What sweet girls! At Mother's Day Kitchen Knead has their electric wheat grinders on sale and for the last 3-4 years I've meant to go get me one. Finally this year and actually went and bought one. Yippee!!

Spring Catch Up

Well, I think this is the longest post I've ever made. I've been a little busy and have fallen behind, which brings me to my first subject. Scott and I were bringing a shelf up the stairs on Wednesday. He had me going up backwards on the steps and he was going up slowly. My back was bent over and the shelf was heavy so I told him to speed it up a little. Well he speed up a lot to be funny and I tripped and fell on the wood edged top step. It knocked the wind right out of me. I spent the rest of the day and next laying on a hot pad. It's still a little sore today but I'm not broken anywhere so thats good.Image
I finally had a girls night with my girls. We invited grandma Debbie to go to the play Anne of Green Gables presented by a high school near by. I've wanted to take them to a play or ballet or something girly for a long time, but taking all 4 of us is a little spendy so this fit in our budget. Grandma took us to dinner and then we went to the play. They loved the first half but got a little bored the second half. The seat were terribly uncomfortable, especially in my condition. Over all it was a great night and can't wait to do it again when by behind isn't so sore.

Before I make this statement I want to make it clear that I love all my girls the same. Avery is my favorite to dress and to do her hair. She will wear anything I pick out and usually lets me do anything to her hair, even if it takes hours. Well apparently she decided she was done with me doing her hair. Last Sunday she told me she wanted her hair cut short. My first thought was, "No way! Who cares if how you want your hair, I want it long." But I let go of my selfish thoughts and decided to cut her hair. It's still so cute and easy to do but I do miss her beautiful long curls.

ImageAfter Avery cut her hair, Addason decided she was sick of long hair too and she wanted her hair cut. I was not in the least bit sad about this one. She HATES her hair being combed let alone curled. Every single morning it is a battle to get the snarls out. By the time she leaves for school we are both feeling angry toward each other. Plus I think her hair is absolutely gorgeous cut this way. This morning she left for school and we were both happy.

The main reason I'm behind in blogging is because it's soccer season, that should explain itself. I was going to put a counter on my blog where I could keep track of how many games I'd been to, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Just for my records, in the first two weeks of soccer I attended approximately 54 games. Believe it or not I kinda enjoyed it. It's fun to watch the little munchkins play for the first time. I also like knowing that I've contributed a little to the community. For the last week I've been able to sit and enjoy watching my kids play, or attempt to play.
ImageScott is coaching Addason and Tylee's team. Tylee loves to play soccer. She's mostly been playing defense or midfield so she's disappointed she hasn't scored a goal yet. I love it when she's doing her full speed girl run to get the ball and does a good ole "Swing and a miss".
ImageThis picture pretty much sums up Addason and soccer. Look at those dainty hands. She loves to be part of a team and running up and down the field and of course she loves the treats at the end. She doesn't really care for the kicking the ball part.
ImageThis was Avery's first year to play and has surprised us a little bit. She is by far the smallest player on the field all the time but she gets her fair share of kicks in. She tried playing goalie on the second game and decided after a few goals being scored on her she doesn't like the position much. Scott has been trying to help with this team as well so that Avery doesn't feel bad, but she loves her coach.
ImageBayler's games are too intense for me to watch and take pictures plus most of the games are too cold, wet or snowy to take pics. His team has moved up two divisions and they have done pretty good. They are right in the middle of the eleven teams in the division. He only has three more games this season which are all south of Salt Lake so this may be all the pictures I get of him.

Dance Recital April 17,2010Image

I swore I would NEVER EVER let my little girls do dance, but I seem to do everything I say I'm not going to do. I had a friend tell me about a place that does appropriate dances and the costumes are modest and inexpensive. Avery has always wanted to take dance so I signed her up last fall. Well of course after Addason and Tylee found out they wanted to do it too. So all three started dance. After the first month they all wanted to quit. I made it through the whole year of encouraging, bribing and forcing them to go each week. I was very excited and nervous for the recital. I took the girls out to Shellece's to get their make up done professionally. They loved that and thought they were so pretty. They were sooo nervous. They did awesome!! I was so proud to be their mom. My pictures aren't very good but blurry pictures are better than none at all.
