Dreyden does the cutest little faces.  The most recent is he scrunches his nose up and makes funny breathing noises.  I tried to get a picture but couldn't get THE look.  This ones pretty cute though.

The Rest of the Story

So, I mentioned previously that Bayler was running for Exec (Student Body, Student Council or whatever you want to call it) at his high school. To make the campaigning fair to everyone and help keep the cost down for families.  The kids are only allowed to have 5 people wear or bring advertising.  Everyone else did shirts with their names/slogans or what have you.  He chose to do balloons.  He gave 2 balloons to each of his 5 volunteers.  He never used the same 5 people in the 10 days they could campaign.  So every morning we had this to do.  It seems simple enough but blowing them up, tying them and writing on them took two people a good 1/2 hour, which is a lot of time before school.

On the day of the assembly, all the candidates are brought into a room and given an envelope.  Each gets a letter thanking them for running and then telling them if they made it and if so, what position they got.  As a mom I was so nervous and kept looking at the time.  Bayler finally text me and this is how the text went.

Bayler: mom, I've got the envelope in my hand
Me: Okay, hurry open and tell me!!
3 very long minutes pass
Me: What the heck does it say?
Bayler: I'm not going to open it, it's gonna be a surprise.
Me: No way, open it NOW!!  Are you the only on that is doing that?
Bayler: No, just a couple of us
Bayler: Courtney made it!!!!
Me: Bayler, quit being a wuss and open it now, I can't wait any longer.
Bayler: I'm not being a wuss, I'm being tough!!  Are you coming out to the assembly
Me: No, not unless you open the dang envelope.
Me:  I don't want to drive all the way out there not knowing if you made it or not.
Bayler: Just come out anyway, please.
Bayler: You better hurry cause we are going into the assembly now.
Bayler: Are you here yet?
Bayler:Where are you?  Hurry!

During those last few texts Scott and I where trying to decided what to do. We decided to run out there and support him no matter the outcome.  As you can see from the picture we weren't in a very good spot.  HE MADE IT!!!  I was shocked!!  It was all so exciting!!! I think he is the treasurer or something like that.  It will be such a good thing for him.  It will also keep him very busy, which means it looks like we will be a one car family all of next school year.  Does anyone have a cheap car they want to sell him?

Spring Break

Spring break isn't exactly one of my favorite times of year.  I do enjoy not having to get up early and force people to eat breakfast, get dressed and do their hair.  I would love it if I could afford to go to somewhere far away and warm for the whole week.  But we make do with what we've got.  My sister Shellece and I took out kids and stayed a couple of nights at the hotel my mom works at.  We spent the majority of the time at the pool and watched movies all together at night.  The kids had a blast!

This was Dreyden did for fun all the hours we were at the pool.  The little spot he was sitting in dipped down so the kids would splash water by him and he would splash in it.  He thought it was great.

The girls can't go too long with out holding their baby Dreyden.  I think they look so much alike.  They have the same eyes and nose.

Addason got annoyed cause she felt like she needed to shower everytime she got out of the pool and that meant she had to re-do her hair over and over. So she ended up getting in her suit and just sitting by me.  She told me it wasn't worth swimming 5 times a day if she had to do her hair over everytime, she'd rather be bored and watch everyone swim.

I loved that the cousins never got sick of each other.  Even Tylee played with everyone the whole time.  I know that isn't going to last forever.

Bayler graced us with his presence for about an hour.  In that hour that he swam, I don't think there was a second that someone wasn't holding on to him.

Dance Time

Bayler's Junior Prom is coming up here real quick.  We've all been so busy doing the exec thing and soccer that I almost forgot.  Bayler decided to ask a really good friend of his, Courtney. We use to be neighbors and they played together when they were just wee little preschoolers.  He's wanted to take her on a date since he turned 16 but got kinda got side tracked.  He's been so excited to ask her. Since both he and Courtney were running for exec he wanted to ask her before they voted.  If she didn't make it, he didn't want her to think he was doing it just to be nice. So we had to hurry, plan it and do it before they voted.  My whole side of the family was together and discussed all the fun ways he could ask her.  Our first great idea didn't work out so we had to go to plan B, which was also great.  Bayler got a chicken, yes a real chicken and tied a little string to one of its legs and to a stake in her back yard.  On the other leg he taped a piece of paper with he's name on it.  Then he put a big box over the chicken.  In her garage where she was suppose to park, he left a huge sign that said, "Don't be a chicken and come to prom with me"  and then he said follow the chicken scratches to find my name.  There was 30 chicken prints he put from the garage to the box that she had to follow. The best part was that he hid in their playhouse in the backyard and got to watch her chase and attempt to catch the chicken.  Apparently it was very entertaining cause she absolutely hates chickens or creatures of any kind.    At the end of it all Bayler jumped out and helped with the chicken.

She answered him the one day he was home during spring break.  He didn't get home till 10ish and there were raw eggs with messages hidden all over our yard with this sign.
