Scott reserved us a camping spot on the first day that it was open to reserve. He has been so excited and has talked about it weekly since January. When we planned it we figured that we wouldn't have any extra kids by then and it would probably be after Bayler left. We were wrong on both. We still have the kids and Bayler hasn't left yet but he ended up being in Canada at the same time. Since we've had the kids a LOT longer than we anticipated we were in great need of a break. We arranged respite with another foster family for the 4 days. It was awesome!!
We spent a lot of time in and by the water.
Scott told Landon that if he jumped out and swam back to shore that he would give him $5. Landon loves money so it was a done deal.
I bought the girls a new book for the trip and then kinda regretted it. Luckily it only took them one day each of reading to finish it. I brought a book for me to read but Scott got to it before I did and as you can see what that lead to.
We decided to take a little hike to "the meadow". Scott took the girls there on a backpack trip last year. He said it was about a 1-1 1/2 mile and it wasn't too bad. We didn't have a pack for Dreyden and he didn't think that would be that big of a deal. He thought Dreyden could walk the majority of it and we could put him on our shoulders the rest of the time. Well Scott's short easy hike ended up being a bit longer, steeper and harder.
We started with Dreyden like this or on my shoulders.
We ended up making this make shift sling cause he was done with the walking/hiking thing rather quickly.
This was at the very beginning of the hike and everyone was still happy and cheerful.
This was the view from the top. Tony Grove is that pond looking thing clear down there. It was a beautiful view and worth the work and listening to all the whining.
We hiked around the lake 3 times during our stay. Dreyden was pretty good about walking most of the time.
