Ridgeline Swimming

Tylee took private lessons throughout summer in hopes to make the high school team.  All her work paid off, she made the Ridgeline swim team.  Not only did she make the team, she is on varsity and was invited to the first swim invitational in St. George.  Way to go Tylee!!

They had a practice meet with Mountain Crest this week and she was asked to compete in 4 events instead of the usual 2 events.  She was also in the fasted lane.  In the picture below she is right in the center with a black suit and white cap.  She didn't do as good as she could have or should have but she still did well.  She was so incredibly nervous.  It didn't help that she's never been in a meet or that she just barely learned how to dive off the block.  It was fun watching her compete and interact with other swimmer.  It should be a fun season.

She got invited to the St. George Invitational and had a blast.  After hearing some of her stories about the bus ride and hotel stay, I'm not too sure I like her going far away without me.

Happy B-day Scotty

I found this gem in a scrapbook and just had to share.  When I look at him I don't really see that he has changed that much over the years until I see pictures, boy are we getting old!! I'm so glad that I married my bestest friend in the whole world.  I love him for so many reasons but my top two this year are: 1- treats me like a queen all the time and would truly do anything to make me happy. 2-He is such a fun dad.  Our kids would be so bored if I was the only one around.  They would be stuck doing jobs all the time.

UEA/Jump Rope Trip and More Kids

Image

So I got a call Monday morning about a possible placement of a 3yr old boy and a 2 yr old girl. I would be their 3 home in 2 months but apparently it wasn't because of the kids, more the foster parents issues.  It wasn't a sure thing but they said they would let me know later. The day went on without hearing anything until they called at 4:30 pm saying they were bringing them over in 15 minutes.  Needless to say it was a little crazy that night especially cause they didn't have much of anything.  The little boy "X" is 3 and is totally nonverbal and incredibly active.  He doesn't seem to understand anything either.  But he doesn't seem to phase him that he is in another new home.  He hugs and kisses everyone and is excited to see anyone that walks in the door.  "I" who is 2 isn't the same way.  She is a lot shyer and can talk pretty good for her age.  They are both very sweet.

What we didn't think about when we decided to take them was the fact that we were leaving over UEA to Idaho Falls for a jump rope workshop. Addason and Tylee were planning on staying home cause they had to drive for drivers ed. We considered leaving the new littles with them but opted not to do that. Lucky for us, Scott had got a suite so it was plenty big for all of us.  It was slightly stressful for new littles and us but we survived and had a little fun too. We of course did a lot of swimming in the freezing pool.  "X" had no fear and loved jumping in.  "I" hated the cold pool and the hot pool was too hot so she spent most of the time with one foot in the hot tub and one foot in the pool.  Drey tolerated the cold pool to play with the big kids.

We found this awesome play place that was fairly cheap and entertained the kids for 2 hours.  It wore everyone out and they had so much fun.

On of the down sides of the trip for us adults was that we ate fast food the whole time.  We always went where there was play places.

The weather wasn't too bad either.  We took a little walk/bike ride on a trail that went along the falls and the river.  I tried getting a cute pictures with the boys but Drey wasn't having it.

We went to a couple of parks and found a pumpkin walk at one of them.  All in all, it wasn't a horrible weekend but I did feel like a needed another mini vacation with just adults to recuperate from this one.

Lagoon!

My mom bought our family tickets to lagoon for christmas last year.  We couldn't go during the summer cause we were so busy doing outside summer things that we never had time.  Plus we were thinking it would be way less busy in the fall.  Boy oh boy were we ever wrong.  It was so stinkin busy.  Most of the kids still had fun. We went with Marshall and his family which was great for everyone. Tylee isn't not much of an amusement park person.  She opted to ride with Drey the whole time. We only saw Landon, Avery and Addason a few time through out the day so I didn't get any pictures of them.
