New Pictures

We took McKenzie and Kaiden to JC Pennys for cousin pictures. We didnt realize how difficult it would be to get a 8 month old and a 4 month old to smile at the same time. Getting pictures of the two of them together didnt turn out the way we wanted.

McKenzie can be a bully to Kaiden. Her time is limited to be able to get him, he is already bigger than her. Once her becomes more corrdinated, he can fight back.

Image This picture is priceless! ImageNow to the cute pictures of them by themselves.

ImageHopefully as time goes, we'll actually be able to get cute pictures of them taken. I must admit, it is fun to dress them up in matching clothes and have babies so close in age. When the babies are together, we are asked many times if they are twins.

Our Little Lady Liberty

Here is little McKenzie in her 4th of July outfit. Notice the cute pig-tails? Her hair has been long enough for them for nearly 2 months, most 2 years barely have the amount of hair she has. Recently though, she is on strike from getting her pig-tails done. She wont sit still long enough to allow me to finish them.

Visting Parks & Feeding the Ducks

We have been visiting quite a few of the area parks and feeding the ducks. We have met some very friendly and hungry ducks, who even come right up to our hands. McKenzie loves the swings, and giggles as the wind hits her face.

Sonic!

Image
This evening for Family Home Evening, Adam, McKenzie, and I went to the opening day of Sonic! The 2+ hour wait was TOTALLY worth it!
>
Ever since we road tripped to Utah and Nevada a couple years ago, I have fallen in love with Sonic. Maybe it was because we didn't have one here that I liked it so much. When we heard that one was opening in our area, I became so excited. We checked the progress of the building, but it wasn't happening as quickly as we were hoping. Thankfully now, it is open... and we already have enjoyed their goodness.

You know that baby weight that I have lost? I bet it comes back on quickly!

McKenzie Is Scared of Monsters!

No pictures for this post. I'll let you visualize. hehe!

This morning while I started my bath water I decided that I wanted to take a long relaxing one, so I brought McKenzie up with me snuggled in her blanket as she continued to sleep. I applied my face mask (you know the stuff that hardens up and turns purple?). Well, shortly after, McKenzie woke up and saw my face. She FREAKED out and started to scream hysterically. I finally figured out what was wrong (my scary face) and tried to comfort her by picking her up and cuddling, but that didn't work.

Needless to say, it didn't stay on my face for the recommended 10 minutes, and I couldn't wash it off fast enough. Even after it was all washed off, she still wasn't happy.

I guess next time I use the face mask, I will make sure someone else is home to play with her so she doesn't get scared of funny looking monsters.

Little Kenzie and Kaiden

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house has become quite the little nursery! Having two grandchildren that are only 4 months apart has put Grandma and Grandpa in early Heaven. It is easy to see that McKenzie cant wait until Kaiden becomes a little bigger and able to play with her. They do speak in baby talk to each other, but we think they are trying to see who can be the loudest!

Before Kaiden was born, I thought McKenzie was little... now she is a miniature toddler! But with the way he eats, he is going to pass her up very soon.

Image This picture was taken while both babies needed their diapers changed. Let me tell you, changing a girl's diaper is MUCH easier than changing a boy's. You really have to be on your toes with a boy... or you'll have a wet mess. hehe!
Image Shortly after this picture was taken, little Kaiden hit McKenzie in the face. She didn't know how to respond to that. It resulted in two crying babies.
Image Going shopping is one of all of our favorite things to do. Now that we have two little babies, Grandma Joan sits in the back seat (between the babies). She really has to be on her toes when the little ones get hungry at the same time.
Image Little McKenzie loves her little friend! They are good at sharing their toys! Between the two babies, we have nearly every baby toy needed! You're welcome Fisher Price... we helped keep you in business this year! hehe!

Because It's Time...

FOR AN UPDATE!

I am sorry for being a total blog slacker. I know it has been over a month, but it has been a crazy busy month. There wont be tons of pictures on this post because blogger wont let me upload the pictures without taking oh. so. long. With a baby, time is more precious than waiting around for blogger to cooperate!

Update #1:
Baby Kaiden was born! My sister had her little baby boy on March 19th, and he is a cutie patootie! Little boys and girls are very different. I was very scared to change a boy's diaper, and it resulted in pee all over him. Thankfully they now have "wee bes" to cover his boy parts while you change him. That will be a total life saver! Also, little boys don't care for COLD wipes.

Update #2:
McKenzie is getting big! Our little baby girl looks like a TODDLER next to the little Kaiden baby. I thought she was little before he was born, but now she is big. We took her to the doctor last Friday (for her 4 month appointment, 4 MONTHS, how is that possible?) She is 12 lbs 14 oz (23%), so very short (wonder how that happened), and has a big head in the 73% (she must get the brain from her daddy).
Funny doctor story...
The doc asked if Kenzie is starting to pull and grab onto things. She answered him by grabbing his tie and pulling. It was almost like she was trying to get back at him for what the nurse was going to be doing to her (two not so nice shots).
Update #3:
Little McKenzie has graduated to her crib. Now I know why some babies sleep with the parents so long. It is a hard adjustment to actually have to get out of bed to feed them. But thankfully....

Update #4:
McKenzie sleeps through the night. 8 straight hours of sleep are nice, but its even better when Adam wakes up to feed her at 7am. That makes it so I can get even more beauty sleep.

Update #5:
She talks! Of course it is in baby language... but they are the sweetest sounds ever, except when they go with....

Update #6:
Teething! I don't know who is in more pain; her or us! Prime example was yesterday evening. Out of no where we heard blood curdling cries and had elephant tears. Grandma tried to help, Grandpa tried to help, a car ride didn't calm her, daddy's love didn't help, but the baby orajel did! Even tried her favorite baby toys, but she even pushed them away. I guess I didn't realize that it could take 3 months for the teeth to actually pop out. We're in the long haul for "the teeth are moving" pain.

It is so hard to see her in such pain.

Update #7: Image

Baby Toys! Babes need lots of toys! Even ask the Grandparents who have helped supply the mini toy store. They need a swing, a jumperoo (total lifesaver!), a baby gym, a glider, and the other half of the Fisher Price Corporation. Now I wish we bought a bigger house with a toy room. Now I know why new houses have bonus rooms, they are needed for all of the baby toys.

I have tried to communicate to Adam that they aren't TOYS... they're TOOLS! Tools for her enjoyment! Its starting to work! Truly though, it's thankful to Grandma and Grumpa J. that we now have a miniature toy store. It's mainly because Grandma likes the toys though, and because the little ones can share.

I have missed a few more updates, hopefully though, it wont take me another month and a half to post them.

We hope you all are doing well.

Love,
Adam, Megan, and McKenzie

Actually I should just say McKenzie, because that's who this blog has become about, we don't really matter anymore, we just made her, and I baked her. If you don't have kids yet, you'll someday learn that the baby is the only one that people care about. People who never called before will now call to ask how she is. No "hey, how are you?" now its "hows McKenzie?"

I feel the love.
