LOVED.

Life is good right now. It has been a surprisingly smooth transition from two to three kids. I was told by a number of people that two to three is the hardest, so I was getting ready for the worst. But Kate is pure joy all the time. Seriously though. She is a very easy baby and I can say that because Raegan and Jane took a while to adjust to the whole sleep at night and be awake in the day time thing. I LOVE having a newborn again. They are so angelic & helpless and everything is so little and cute!! We all can't get enough of her. I think she has one of us in her face, talking in an alarmingly high pitched voice and kissing her 100% of the time she is awake. Maybe that is why she sleeps so much haha!

We only have one more month here in Portland. I will be sad to leave but things are looking oh so rosy on the other side. It will be amazing for Seth to be done with school. We are so pumped about San Antonio and he loves the practice he is buying into. I want to start packing like...today!

Jane has become a little girl overnight. She has a teeny tiny bit of toddler left in her, but not much:( She has really blossomed over the past few months. She makes us laugh all the time and has a very clever sense of humor. For example this was our conversation at lunch the other day...

Jane: "mommy, knock knock"
Me: "who's there?"
Jane: "pee in your eye"
Me: "Jane that is such potty talk!"
Jane: "no mom the LETTER "P"
Me: "oh, okay well that was close though!"

2 sec. later

Jane: "knock knock"
Me: "who's there?"
Jane: "poop in your eye."
Me: "Janie!!"
Jane: "no mom, the LETTER "poop"

Haha. I can't argue with that.

Then the other night I had her in the tub and she said...

Me: "Jane time to rinse your hair, lay back"
Jane: "I want to do it my self"
Me: "okay go for it"
Jane: (as she is laying herself back into the water says) "Ladies and gentlemen I will now be baptized"

Priceless.

Three little women

There is nothing like having a new born baby to hold and love and kiss. I love this girl so much and I'm so happy she is finally here! (and I'm happy not to be pregnant any more:) Kate was born April 7th at 5:25am. She is a very mellow baby who has been sleeping great so far. I've never experienced a new born who sleeps well and I've got to say its pretty awesome. Her two big sisters are so proud and love holding her and helping me with little things for the baby. Raegan is basically infatuated with her. She will say things like "Mom my heart will just break if I don't kiss Kate goodnight!" And she means it with all sincerity. I love my girls ~

Birth Story:

On Saturday April 6th I was feeling really...well, over being pregnant! I was wanting to get the show started!

So after hitting the treadmill for a brisk one hour walk, then going home and taking a nice bath, I started having surges around 9:00pm. I kept track of them for about an hour, then told Seth I thought it was the real deal and we should probably pull our hospital things together. While he worked on getting everything in the car etc. I put in my headphones with my awesome relaxation mix and began getting in the zone. Things were moving along quickly so we headed to the hospital  around 1am. It was a bit of a challenge getting from the car into the main entrance because surges were pretty strong at that point, but after what seemed like forever we made it.

We checked in and it was a smooth transition from triage to our hospital room. Our nurse Bethany was wonderful. She was really great at reading me and how I was feeling, without me having to say much. She could tell that the surges were becoming intense and suggested I get into the jacuzzi. I really liked being in there. We had the lights dim, music going and I was trying really hard to just stay calm and relaxed. At this point my surges were becoming really intense and they were coming two at a time (meaning just as one would start to ease up, it would go right into another strong one, with no time in between to rest) This became overwhelming for me and I started to overheat a bit in the warm water so I drained the tub. Once the water was out, the surges felt WAY more intense and I had a hard time getting from the tub back to our room.

Once there, I decided I wanted to have an epidural and I let the nurse know. Obviously it took a little while before the anesthesiologist came and  by the time she was administering it to me my water had broke and I was already in transition. She placed it and about twenty min. later Kate was on her way out! I still had full use of both my legs and could feel where Kate was and when I needed to push, which was wonderful because it wasn't like that in the past for me. I pushed slowly to avoid tearing and the midwife delivering her was mindful of helping me not tear as well. She came after about three surges and she was perfect! I only had to have two small stitches which is soooo much better than last time!

It's pretty incredible to bring a child into this world. Seth was a huge support through out the whole thing. It felt so good having him by my side encouraging me and helping me along the way. I love that man. I am so happy I get to share these three amazing little girls with him. We love Kate so much. Sometimes I would think to myself "i all ready love Raegan and Jane so much, how can I love another child equally!?" but the second you see them your heart expands and the love grows. Its a great feeling.

Pregnant.

Well I'm nine months pregnant and playing the waiting game. Everyday I run around checking things off my "before baby comes list" thinking its my last chance to get things done. When in reality I think I have plenty of time and will twiddling my thumbs by the time I actually go into labor. I am getting really excited to have a baby in the house again. I miss having that warm, soft bundle of baby asleep on my chest. And any mother knows there is nothing like the sweet smell of a new born...mmmm heaven. I am definitely moving slowly these days, I feel like an old rickety women or something. But Seth is on spring break and has been amazing at giving plenty of opportunity to rest and relax. Its been great.

The girls are very eager to meet their little sister. Kate (that's what we are going to name her) moves A LOT! Which is uncomfortable for me, but super entertaining for them. Lots of action to see and feel. It will be great to finally have her here.

We decided to take the San Antonio job and will be moving there in July. We feel really good about it and can not wait to be done with dental school!!!! Seth is basically finished with all his requirements and will be taking the WREB early in San Antonio so he can be licenced and ready to roll! We are really happy about moving to Texas. We will be in a great area, right by the temple, air port, amazing schools, beautiful neighborhoods AND 2 hrs from the beach! The office Seth will be working in is booming and the two other dentists are so great. It will feel so good to get going.

In the mean time we are spotting signs of spring all over town, along with some sunny days here and there. Its been fun to walk with the girls and find blossoms, lady bugs and flowers. Both girls have birthdays this week and will be turning three and five. Can't believe it. Sometimes I want to just freeze them in time. They are such good girls.

This is basically the only "pregnancy picture" I have. Oh well, what do you do...

Happenings

Christmas was wonderful. There was lots and lots of snow which was so fun. The girls had a blast building snow forts, snow men and of course tubing at the cabin. Sadly we don't have many pictures because we left our camera charger in Portland (my bad). But I do have these beautiful pictures my sister in law took of my girls for our Christmas cards this year!

Now we are back in the groove of things. We have five more months of Dental school and then we are off! Off where you might ask? We don't know! Ha! But it's going to be awesome. Seth is flying out to San Antonio Texas next Thursday to look at a great job opportunity there. So that could be a good option for us. We would have lots of sunshine again!

These next few months will be pretty eventful with our baby girl (Kate) on her way, graduation for Seth, saying good bye to all our friends here in Portland, and then moving...somewhere...

But we are excited. They are all good changes and we are ready for them all. So bring it on 2013! We've waited so long for you to come!

This is Raegans new preschool. This school is a gem. I am so glad we found it. Raegan will have a wonderful year here. I only wish I could have had Jane attend here as well. It is seriously the best preschool ever!

Jane is in a little art program. She goes for two hours and they do all sorts of fun things, but mostly they paint a LOT! And Jane LOVES to paint. So its a good fit.

This was one of our visits to the pumpkin patch. I swear we go at least two or three times every year. Its just so fun!

Here is Jane with her super warty (kind of gross) pumpkin. I tried to put this back twice, but she would find it and and say "Mom why you put this down?!" And if you are wondering whether Jane has pants on...no she doesn't. That was a two year old tantrum I gave up on. If she wants to wear tights to the pumpkin patch, then she will darn it!

Summer & some news

Wow this summer has really flown by. We have been enjoying the sun and the water and a little time off here and there. Seth is officially in his last year of dental school!!! GLORY ALLELUIA! Can you tell I'm kind of excited? When Seth and I were married he only had one year of undergrad behind him, and now seven years later we are ready to have the "poor starving students" phase over. We are quickly out growing our little two bed apartment and with another one on the way...yep number three, 10 weeks along:) it will be a perfect time to start fresh. This pregnancy has been the hardest one yet. I don't know if its because I already have two kids or what, but wow. It is not easy growing babies! We are all very excited to add to our family. The girls LOVE babies and talk about our baby a lot. Jane likes the thought of her being a big sister like Raegan. Lots to look forward to.

We are headed to Utah for the month of September on Tuesday. When we get back the girls will jump right into school and ballet. It will be nice to have a routine again.   I'm already looking forward to fall. It is my favorite season:)

Here are some pictures from the last few month...
