Happy 8 months, Savannah!
This month:
You like to make lots of noises and chatter away to yourself. You say "blah, bah, bah, blah, bah" "fffffffff" "eshhhhh" "a-da-da-da-da" "ooooff" and "ya ya ya". It's pretty cute!
You are so close to crawling! You have figured out how to get up on your hands and knees (which you love to do in your crib-even in your sleep) and you rock back and forth. Unfortunately, this usually takes you backwards, farther away from the toy you are trying to play with. Keep it up, sweetheart!
You went on a grand vacation and proved that you can be a trouper in the car, but not so much sleeping in strange houses in your pack and play. Oh well, we had fun anyways and you were able to meet all of you living great-grandparents!
You love to move. Your arms or legs are constantly moving. You like to flap your arms, kick your legs, clench and un-clench your fingers, scoot around in a circle on your tummy, get up on your hands and knees, and bend over while you are sitting up. Hence, the picture is a little blurry because you would not stop moving.
You love to chew! What a grand experience to you. You have tried banana puffs, yogurt bites, banana pieces (you prefer biting off pieces of a larger chunk rather than little bites), pear pieces, baby carrots-you love to hold these and scrape some off during our dinnertime. You are far more interested in what mommy and daddy are eating than what you are eating. Yesterday I was feeding you mango baby food-one of your favorites. When I brought a slice of pizza for my lunch, you stopped eating the mangoes and refused them, opening your mouth only when I held the pizza close. Hmmm, sorry little one, you cannot eat everything we eat quite yet.
Separation anXIEty. Holy smokes you are quite in love with your mommy and daddy. You do not want either of us to move out of a 5 foot radius of you...even if the other one is right next to you. You notice when daddy leaves for school now and you cry alligator tears when the door shuts. It is better if we stand outside and wave bye-bye. You hate when I walk into the closet to put something away for 3 seconds...and you let me know how much you don't like it! You have quite the set of screamers on you when you feel abandoned. But this all comes with the fact that you have started being more and more snuggly. You give us loves and have even reached out to give us a hug. You like to snuggly on my shoulder sometimes and give kisses. We love it!
You love daddy! The other day at church I was showing you a picture book of your family-mommy, daddy, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. You gave daddy's picture a big kiss. It was so sweet! We went through the whole book and you didn't kiss any other picture. When we came back to daddy's pictures, you gave big kisses again. It was so darling! Good thing daddy can sit with us during 2nd hour!
We love you, sweetie, and can't wait to see how you continue to grow this next month.
