Why weren’t black Republicans or conservatives invited to the MLK March on Washington commemoration in DC today?

From the Washington Examiner today:

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., the only black person serving in the United States Senate, wasn’t invited to the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s march on Washington, though a host of Democratic luminaries spoke on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. “Senator Scott was not invited to speak at the event,” Greg Blair, a spokesman for the South Carolina lawmaker,…

Apparently George W Bush was invited but is recovering from surgery…..aside from his invite, it appears that the invites went mostly to Democratic “luminaries”…not successful black people from all walks of life and politics.

To my knowledge a host of very notable conservatives/Republicans who are black were overlooked. Why weren’t they allowed to speak and share their experiences and insight?  I have a feeling that if they had been allowed to speak , we would have witnessed a reaction that might have proven that most of today’s message was more about validating leftist politics and victimhood than about the overcoming of injustices to blacks and the courage of Dr. MLK Jr….

JC Watts: In 1994, the first African-American Republican U.S. Representative from south of the Mason-Dixon line since Reconstruction. Pastor and college quarterback star at University of Oklahoma.

Condoleeza Rice – first female African-American secretary of state

Clarence Thomas – 2nd black Supreme Court judge, grew up poor in Savannah, the only black in his high school. He left priesthood seminary after MLK was killed because he “thought the church did not do enough about racism.”

Herman Cain – successful business man, Presidential candidate, radio host and was raised in “The Bluff” area of Atlanta where Dr. King lived at one time.

Mia Love – spoke at Republican convention, was mayor of Sarasota Springs, Utah and the first female Haitian-American elected official in Utah County, Utah

* most of this info came from a quick perusal at Wikipedia….not in-depth info, but enough to gather some of the high points of their accomplishments.

@jackmcoldcuts, “I’m Angry”, too, about Obama’s fiascos in #Libya and #Egypt

ImageAll day, I’ve been wanting to sum up my thoughts about the anniversary of 9-11 yesterday and the events surrounding it.

News of the terrorism in Libya and Egypt and the death of our ambassador in Libya ( and 3 other Americans) made me angry.  News of Obama’s refusal to meet with Netanyahu added to my anger.

The further frothing at the mouth of the MSM (and proof of MSM collaboration against Romney) because Romney dared to criticize the empty foreign policy of the “Empty Chair” president sent my thoughts and anger in high gear today.

I am disgusted at a President who used military force, without Congressional approval and against the War Powers Act, in order to remove Gaddafi from Libya and to aid in the ouster of Mubarak in Egypt—-both less-than-stellar men, but leaders who, at least, were mostly in sync with America  in the region.  Now Obama’s so-called “Arab Spring” has turned into a nasty, ruthless “Winter”…..and the Obama administration defends the perpetrators of violence (the one’s he allowed into power) by apologizing for American free speech.  Those perpetrators later murdered our ambassador and other Americans.

But I’m not sure anything further I can write will top what Ace of Spades blogger Jack M. (@jackmcoldcuts) expressed.  Without further adieu and in its entirety:

I was watching the “news” accounts of the ongoing Obama-fiasco in Libya and Egypt this morning, and I couldn’t help but come to one headline/twitter friendly conclusion:

“Obama Apologized. American Ambassador Eulogized. First Amendment Marginalized.”

Perhaps I should add a subsidiary clause to the phrase: maybe something like “Media Sanitized” in reference to the way they are scrambling to protect their precious president as he speaks softly and stumblingly slams his little stick in the Muslim Brotherhood’s front door.

But I’m not writing this post to focus on media bias. Others do that, and they do it better than I do. I’m writing this post for a different reason.

I’m angry.

I’m angry at a hypocritical, feckless President who personally spikes the football over Bin Laden’s death while his state department apologizes to Islamists for the exertion of similar First Amendment rights by other Americans who aren’t lucky enough to be anointed god-kings.

I’m angry that a posturing, empty-suit of a president lectures Americans on “denigrating religious views” when he is on record as referring to Americans of faith as “bitter clingers”, and when he has campaign surrogates attacking his opponent for being a Mormon.

I’m angry that our stroke-addled, possibly brain-damaged Vice President describes 9/11 as a “bittersweet” day, as our embassies are burning and Americans are being killed.

I’m angry over the fact that we spent blood and treasure in Obama’s “Lead from Behind Libyan Adventure” only to see our Ambassador murdered and dragged thru the streets by the very people Obama placed in power.

I’m angry that we helped force an ally out in Egypt knowing he’d be replaced  with an Al-Qaeda friendly government that enjoyed watching its minions take the first symbolic opportunity they had to burn our flag and replace it with Al-Qaeda’s.

I’m angry that at a time when Al-Qaeda’s flag flies over the Cairo embassy, the mis-administration prepares to forgive over $1 BILLION in Egyptian debt.

I’m angry that “Pimp With A Limp” gets to talk to the president, while Bibi Netanyahu, whose allied country faces a potential nuclear annihilation, gets to talk to the hand.

I’m angry that the gut instinct of this mis-Administration is to sympathize with and excuse those who hold our fundamental values in contempt as those same people actively seek any pretext they can find to slaughter us where we stand.

I’m angry that the mis-Administration’s paltry response to a region-wide attack on America, which is, incidentally, what this is, is to deploy 50 Marines to Libya and jet-off to a Vegas fundraiser while preparing a top-ten list for Letterman’s show.

I’m angry that the cornerstone freedoms of speech and religious liberty enshrined in our Constitution are so routinely dismissed and mocked by this mis-Administration. 1st Amendment freedom of speech? “Not if it hurts feelings” we are told. Freedom of religion? “Not if it stands between our mis-Administration and giving Sandra Fluke a free abortion should she want one” we are hectored.

But with four Americans dead, our flag burning, and our embassies trashed, you know what really makes me angry?

Our president isn’t.

Think about that fact.

Our president isn’t. He read a bland and bloodless set of prepared remarks for 10 minutes, hid behind Hillary Clinton’s ever-widening skirt, took no questions, and then thought the best thing he could do would be to hit the Vegas strip.

The truth is this: yesterday I read that the President’s team came out swinging against the “2016:Obama’s America” movie.

They didn’t like the way the president was portrayed. So they attacked Dinesh D’souza and, for some reason, Tea Partiers.

Here is the language they used on BarackObama.com:

“It should say enough about D’Souza’s credibility that a movie catering to the Tea Party attacks someone for allegedly ‘anti-colonial’ views,” the entry reads. “His attempts to hide his lies behind pseudo-scholarly presentation and glossy production values cannot withstand basic scrutiny. The facts show that 2016: Obama’s America is nothing more than an insidious attempt to dishonestly smear the President by giving intellectual cover to the worst in subterranean conspiracy theories and false, partisan attacks.”

That’s tougher than anything Obama said in response to the death of an American ambassador, his staff, or the attack on our embassy grounds.

Which I guess suggests a lesson of sorts. Like those who attacked our embassies and killed our personnel, Obama seems to get riled up by movies that make a point of smearing a self-proclaimed false-messianic prophet.

We can do better. We have to do better. I’m doing all I can to vent my anger into something constructive. I hope you’ll join me.

While perusing the internet this morning, I found a great collection of quotes from Obama over the last several years.  It just takes a read through them to understand that this is a President who should never be included in the next edition of “Our Quotable Presidents” or “Great Americans in Their Own Words.”Just this weekend, Obama declared……..

At least Obama’s poor math is consistent….He can’t count words and he can’t count how many fewer people are employed now compared to when he took office.

So here is a greatest hits of Barack Hussein Obama quotes:

That last one there, I think, is disgusting and is quite in sync with the view that Dinesh D’Souza outlines in his blockbuster documentary 2016: Obama’s America. A part of that view, paraphrased, is that ‘America is bad as she is and that America needs to be knocked down a notch or two in the world….then everyone will see the goodness in America.’

Dems BOO God and Jerusalem – this is who they are! #DNC #tcot #God #Jerusalem

Up until today, the Democratic platform for 2012 excluded any reference to God and did not state that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.

OK – so we all know that today’s Democrats want God out of all of our lives and we know that the Obama administration doesn’t believe Jerusalem is the capital of Israel or, at best, believes it is not yet decided!

So excluding God and Jerusalem from the DNC platform seems true to Democrat values.

Stop the tapes…..TODAY at the DNC, a vote was taken to restore God and Jerusalem to the platform.

Democratic big-wigs faced an embarrassing revolt Wednesday as they put references to God and Jerusalem’s status back in the November election platform despite strong opposition from members.

Amid boos at the DNC (booing God and Israel, by the way), opposition to the change seemed to be stronger than those for it, but the bumbling  Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa adopted it anyway.

So why the change of heart by Dem leadership?  Because they don’t want God in our country and they don’t support Jerusalem as the capital of Israel….but they can’t “preach” it.  Once the GOP pounced on their platform omissisions, these core beliefs were out there for the “undecideds” and “moderates” to see!
Politics is what motivates them, folks….not values, not the people, not their own delegates…..but VOTES.

But thanks in large part to the influence of Jewish voters in key battleground states like Florida, relations with Israel are a hot button issue in US elections.

Of course, true to their values about God and Israel, Republicans included God and Jerusalem in their platform last week.  And Romney had something to say about the political switcheroo at the DNC today:

GOP officials argued that not taking a position on Jerusalem’s status in the party platform raised questions about Obama’s support for the Mideast ally. Romney said omitting God “suggests a party that is increasingly out of touch with the mainstream of the American people.”

“I think this party is veering further and further away into an extreme wing that American’s don’t recognize,” Romney said.

That last quote is an understatement….The DNC is so far left it’s going to meet up with the Republicans on the other side if their not careful. 🙂

And Romney’s spokeswoman rightfully calls Obama out on his flip-flop anti-Israel stance:

“Mitt Romney has consistently stated his belief that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” said Andrea Saul, Romney’s spokeswoman. “President Obama has repeatedly refused to say the same himself. Now is the time for President Obama to state in unequivocal terms whether or not he believes Jerusalem is Israel’s capital.”

Do the events of the Costa Concordia indicate a sign of the times?

ImageI know I am not the only one to wonder about this, but do the events after the capsizing of the Costa Concordia indicate a sign of the times?

I am speaking most specifically about the behaviors of those on board and those in charge.

We have a leader that, it appears, did everything possible to preserve his own backside, while he willfully allowed passengers to fend for themselves and, for some, to die.
We have citizens on board who, from some accounts, seem to have taken the “every man for himself” attitude quite literally.

It was 100 years ago this year that the Titanic sank.  From many accounts of that event, the evacuation mostly included women and children, the captain went down with the ship and many men died in order to save their families.

This year, in a similar disaster, we have reports of men racing to the front to get on the lifeboats, pregnant women forced to stay onboard, and the captain leaving ship while others are evacuated.

There is a report that the captain was “showboating” and was too close to the shore which may have caused the entire disaster.

In a time when our political leaders, like the captain, have abandoned their principles and what is best for our country, and many citizens have soaked in the class warfare of “what’s yours should  be mine”—-can we really be surprised at the behavior of people on a sinking ship?

Blogger Pundit and Pundette says it out loud on a recent blog post: “What a difference a century makes“.

Men refused to prioritise women, expectant mothers and children as they pushed themselves forward to escape. Crew ignored their passengers – leaving ‘chefs and waiters’ to help out. [. . .]
‘I was standing by the lifeboats and men, big men, were banging into me and knocking the girls. It was awful. There was a total lack of organisation. There was no one telling people where to go.
‘And when we finally got into a lifeboat, people, grown men, were trying to jump into the boat. I thought, if they land in here we are going to capsize.

And the captain abandoned the ship and boarded a lifeboat while the evacuation of 4200 people was underway.

In a translation released by Reuters, Gregorio De Falco, the port captain at Livorno, is heard ordering Schettino – who said he was in a lifeboat – back to the Costa Concordia:

Coast Guard: “Listen Schettino, there are people trapped on board. Now you need to go on your life boat, under the bow of the ship on the side. There is a ladder. You need to climb up the ladder and board the ship. Get on board and report to me how many people there are. Is that clear?. . . .

“Schettino: “At this moment the ship is tilted.”

Coast Guard: “I understand. Listen, there are people who are coming down the ladder on the bow. Go back in the opposite direction, get back on the ship, and tell me how many people there are and what they have on board. . . . Tell me if there are children, women and what type of help they need. And you tell me the number of each of these categories. Is that clear? . . . Listen Schettino, perhaps you have saved yourself from the sea but I will make you look very bad. I will make you pay for this. Dammit, go back on board!”

Schettino: “Please . . . “

Although, the CBS News article says the captain may not have acted as heinously as it first appears, one still has to wonder about the character of a captain who leaves the ship while thousands are still aboard.

Still yet, their the report that the entire accident may have occurred due to “showboating” that the captain apparently approved:

The cruise operator has said Schettino strayed from the ship’s authorized course into waters too close to the perilous reef.

The nautical version of a “fly by” was apparently a favor to the chief waiter who is from Giglio and whose parents live on the island, local media reported. Prosecutor Francesco Verusio called Schettino’s maneuver “reckless” and “inexcusable.”

But, perhaps, all is not lost.  From the CBS News article:

Corriere della Sera also reportsthat the crew mutinied, ordering passengers into lifeboats before the captain issued an abandon ship order.

And the captain has been arrested and faces potential charges of manslaughter.

What a tragedy for the families affected by this catastrophe….and a tragedy for society.

Our Trojan Horse President….

Trojan Horse (definition):
concealed stratagem: somebody or something that is meant to disrupt, undermine, subvert, or destroy an enemy or rival, especially somebody or something that operates while concealed within an organization.

They say truth is stranger than fiction.

And as Robert Knight at the Washington Times points out, writing a novel about a President whose goal is to undermine the USA could never match the real thing we have in Barack Hussein Obama.

As we begin 2012, it is imperative that we remember the damage that this President has unleashed upon our country.  He must be removed from office….and this is the year we must do it.

Knights article is a great reminder of so many of the appalling things Obama has done in three years….for which much of the media and many Americans have given him a pass…

I was thinking about writing a novel about what might happen if a man who hates America and wants to bring it down is somehow elected president. What would he do?……

…….First, the Trojan Horse president would initiate unprecedented spending, driving the debt up by more than $4 trillion just in the first three years. Much of the money would go into the pockets of political supporters and people who donate heavily to his campaigns…….

……….(He would)  Ship hundreds of taxpayer-purchased firearms to Mexican drug gangs in order to frame law-abiding gun sellers in Texas. When the Fast and Furious weapons are used to kill U.S. and Mexican lawmen, the attorney general will pretend he didn’t know about the program until very recently and is shocked, shocked! The attorney general will claim that critics of this criminally insane policy are motivated by racial animus against him and the president. After all, this worked when anyone questioned why the president’s college and medical records were sealed or why he attended a Marxist minister’s church for 20 years and hung out with known terrorists.

He would appoint Supreme Court justices who believe in a “living Constitution,” which means they can ignore its plain meaning when it interferes with their ideological agenda.

He would stack the National Labor Relations Board with union hacks who would do unspeakable things such as order a major company (Boeing) not to open a new factory in a right-to-work state (South Carolina) in the middle of the worst recession since the Great Depression. If he got away with that, he would go ahead and strengthen a crony socialist system reminiscent of Mussolini’s Italy or Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela that subsidizes “winners” such as Solyndra.

Finally, throughout his tenure, he would employ the Marxist rhetoric of class warfare, blame “the wealthy” and make more Americans dependent on government checks. He would sucker Republican leaders into secret meetings and emerge to accuse them of wanting to raise taxes on all but the rich.

Barack Obama supports this….. #OWS

ImageThe Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protests are everything (and worse) that the Tea Party gatherings were ACCUSED of being.

While a unified and coherent message is yet to be found among these lazy Leftists, there are a variety of complaints made by the “Flea Party” against their country, their fellow citizens, and their lives, in general.

And, worst of all, our President, Barack Obama, among others, supports the filthy display of these anti-Capitalist Leftists — from plain ‘ol lazy ones to radical ones — and their 1960’s-like communal camp-outs.

It’s the kind of display that hard-working, proud Americans do not engage in.  They don’t have “weeks” to sit in filth with their topless brethren and bitch about something….anything….especially things they know nothing about.

Barack Obama supports this bunch of anti-capitalist useful idiots along with Marxist Van Jones, Al Gore, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, John Larson, Louise Slaughter, Muslim Keith Ellison, Jeff Merkley, Russ Feingold, and more.

And let’s not even talk about who is financing and organizing this astroturfed conglomeration of idiots.  I’ll list SOME of them because the astroturf financiers and “organizers” are another story unto themselves:

Here is your Democrat-supported (from the President on down) “protest” in action— and just imagine if the Tea Party protesters had ACTUALLY engaged in only 1% of this behavior (which they never did):

– USCG warns staff after Occupy Boston protesters spit on Coast Guard officer

– Disgusting behavior exhibited by the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters are on full display in New York as trash and debris pile-up on public streets. The disgusting conditions coupled with the group’s anti-authority attitude resulted in one unidentified protester defecating on an NYPD patrol car.

– Hackers threaten Wall Street

– According to this speaker in LA, violence and bloodshed will be necessary:

“So, ultimately, the bourgeoisie won’t go without violent means. Revolution! Yes, revolution that is led by the working class.  Long live revolution! Long live socialism!”

– Creepy, funky chants like “I can have sex with animals or whatever“…. (Frankly, I’m ashamed these robots in this video call themselves Americans!)

– Millions and millions of tax-payer dollars are being spent to clean up after these animals.

– Protestors claim the “Jews” control Wall Street in anti-semetic rant

– Protesters march on Wall St. after park cleanup postponed, get into scuffle with  cops

– Police Clash With “Occupy Denver” Protesters, Dozens Arrested

 – More creepy Left Wing chanting led by community organizer who travels the globe to provoke violence for destabilizing governments

There is so much more going on daily with these Leftists…..but that last bullet point should unnerve the majority America-loving citizens of this country.

Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com summed up the hypocritical media and politicians on the issue of the Flea Party vs. the Tea Party:

Had even one Tea Party rally resulted in 140 arrests, defecation on police cars, speakers calling for a violent French Revolution-style change in society, or members of the military getting attacked with spit and epithets, would the national media have offered such a balanced report — or would the media have used any of these incidents to warn America about the latent hate and violence in the movement?

Van Jones threatening Americans with his version of “Arab Spring” in America

From RealClearPolitics, quotes from Van Jones on MSNBC, the media voice of the Obama regime (see video at RCP link):

Van Jones: “We are going to build a progressive counterbalance to the tea party. Eighty percent of Americans agree with everything that you say on this show, but we have no voice. We know that jobs are more important, and this phony, made-up deficit stuff they talk about. We know that people who have done well in America should do well by America and start paying America back in the form of more fair taxes.

“People who benefited from the bailouts and from the tax breaks should start paying America back. They’re doing great.

“Everybody else is suffering. That is 80 percent of the majority. And we’re going to now have a voice. 

Van Jones, as you may recall, stepped down as Obama’s “green” czar when it was found that Jones had advocated that Bush caused 9/11 and that he used derogatory terms for Republicans.

The media would have you believe that Jones just made a couple of mistakes there…..but Van Jones is a self-avowed Marxist whose has Obama as his mentor and partner in “crime”.

The Contract for the American Dream is a contract for continued wealth redistribution from taxpayers to Democratic special interests from a failed prophet of green jobs boondogglery. Sound familiar?

Van Jones may have left Washington, but his spirit, alas, is alive and well in his mentor’s nightmare policies.

More importantly, with regards to Van Jones’ latest threat, I want to now quote the last item that was included in Van Jones’ comments on MSNBC:

“And you’re going to see an American fall, an American autumn, just like we saw the Arab spring. You can see it right now with these young people on Wall Street. Hold onto your hats. We’re going to have an October offensive to take back the American dream and to rescue America’s middle class.”

This is where he is threatening potential violence and taking to the streets against the American people and business.  One thing that jumped out to me was the phrase “take back the American Dream.”

Recently, I ran across a page on Facebook titled “Restoring the True American Dream“.  It is not the kind of page I thought it was (smaller government, constitutional America, etc).  It is a page for radicals like Van Jones.   It wasn’t until I saw Van Jones comments today that I made the connection between Jones’ phrase and the name of the Facebook page.

The page sounds harmless on the surface and some posts are clearly made by the more moderate among us, who, like me, were probably drawn in by the title of the page.  However if you read through the comments on most posts and scroll down through many of the posts, you will find a plethora of hatred, Marxism, threats of “taking my country back” from the whites, how America is a racist country, it’s time we get our fair share, etc.

I believe that this is not the sentiment of the vast majority of Americans, but there is a flame of hatred in certain communities that are completely aligned with the views of Van Jones’ “American Autumn”.   And those views make it all too real to us when you see them on that FB page.

There is irrational hatred for whites, rich people, the Founding Fathers, George W. Bush, Congress, our country, our history….and some effort by Van Jones and/or Obama to stir up chaos and incite riots may be just the fuel to spark that flame.

Here are a few examples of comments (names omitted) from that FB page. Real people in America that are spouting off beliefs such as these (I didn’t correct language or punctation except for some unacceptable words) :

  • ” is time like Obama said stop complaining , he can’t do it alone with individuals who are bent on his Destruction we must stand together and take it to the Streets , get their attention and let our voice’s be heard and our Presents Felt!!!!”
  • In response to one commenter who denounced socialism:  “I see more & more people getting raped by the system & I am afraid. When the riots come I hope the mobs find you & your house & not mine.”
  • “the truth is Wall Street and Big Business is screwing us with no vaseline and we complain about our rights as we give them authority to take em away. “
  • “obama exterminate white people to restore america 🙂 they have always been the problem.”
  • “BUT THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THOSE THAT ARE USE TO BEING CONSIDERED 1ST CLASS (MOSTLY WHITE AMERICANS) FEEL THAT THEIR SOCIAL POSITIONING IS IN DANGER OF CHANGING WHEN LOWER CLASS (MINORITY BLACK, LATIN, NATIVE, OR LOW CREDIT SCORE) BEGIN TO STAND UP INSTEAD OF LAYING DOWN UNDER THE MASSA’S WHIP…THEN WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND…THE PRESIDENT IS WELL WITHIN HIS RIGHTS AS THE COMMANDER & CHIEF TO MAKE CHANGES….BUSH DID IT…AND SO DID OTHER HEADS OF THE STATE…THE FOCUS IS SO OBVIOUSLY ON HIS SKIN...FEAR HE MIGHT LIBERATE THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY….GUESS WHAT…THE LAW GIVES HIM THAT AUTHORITY…SORRY FOR YA KLANSMEN…TEA PARTY…IT IS HAPPENING…LIKE IT OR NOT
  • On Herman Cain: “This brother has SOLD OUT ! YOU CAN’T BE BRAINWASHED UNLESS YOU ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE ! He don’t even look right……”
  • Again, about Hermain Cain: “Him and Clarence Thomas are both sellouts which is something you’d understand if you were black but you’re white so your opinion is weightless in this discussion. Cain is just another GOP Sambo tap dancing for dollars.”
  • “If they would stop trying to make the rich richer the GOVERNMENT wouldn’t have to step in.”
  • “TEA PARTY = Hates colored people! It’s very simple to understand. Their policy is stupid. They have agenda pushed by the corporate agenda. The Tea party is a CANCER to this government.”
  • “All I will say to those haters of the Chocolate-skinned, YOU need to grow up. You are not better or more educated than I am (me the black.) You white devils created the racial hatred as part of your household upbringing culture… and if still you can’t give it up, you will face the resentment of nature on you one very day of your messed-up life… enough is enough with the lynching and imprisonment of my people.”
  • “Rise up against the biggest threats which is not terrorism it is the corporation in which are all butt buddies to the republicans. Rise up I tell ya! Rise up!
  • “Its amazing how we still have this mentality. Break the black woman by killing the black man in front of her so she believes the black man is weak. After seeing this, any offspring she raises will be broken and a well trained labor machine. This process continues today, the black family unit is broken. Until we fix this problem, things will never change.”
  • “….what seems to be “in your head” is a pile of [poop]. OR should I wipe my a– with your “Holy Bible“?”
  • “All of you closeted, teabagging trolls are really just a bunch of ignorant, racist f–king crackers!”

And if you really want to sum up, in a crude dialect, what Obama and Van think of this country, it would be this FB “American Dream” commenter:

  • “YOU PEOPLE, are neo-fascist thugs and bigots who apparently have the exclusive use of some type of clairvoyance to conjure up a cadre of dead, hemp-smoking, slave masters whom you so proudly refer to as the “Founding Fathers.” Well, let me hip you to something: My skin is brown and my lineage is long and illustrious. The way that I see it, my “Founding Fathers” have names like Taharqa, Mansa Musa and Sundiata Keita. The reason that America is in the mess that it is in now is because it is filled with ignorant cretins who know nothing and care less about the rest of the world. Earth is a community Lady – The U.S. doesn’t have any special preeminence. “

I encourage to peek at the Facebook page “Restoring the True American Dream”  if only to catch a glimpse of the people who irrationally and blindly support Obama….some who even hint at being proponents of “rising up” and “taking it to the streets”.  You don’t have to “like” the wall on that page in order to read everything.

It is eye-opening.  Makes me wonder if Van Jones started it!

Classic: Herman Cain circa 1994 puts the hurt on Bill Clinton’s arrogance and health plan

On the heels of Herman Cain’s good performance in Thursday’s debate and his landslide victory in the Florida straw poll on Saturday, much attention is being focused on him.

That focus includes this 1990’s era video depicting Cain, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, asking a question about healthcare costs at a Bill Clinton townhall when Clinton was President. This exchange took place in 1994 during Clinton’s big push for the disaster government health plan that was “Hillarycare”.

Herman Cain certainly puts the hurt on Bill Clinton’s health plan in this video.  Not only that, watch the entire video and you see the arrogance of Clinton and his viewpoint ( and most big government liberals)

Basically Herman Cain discusses how Clinton’s healthcare initiative for business was not doable and, without going into it, how it can not be sustained without job losses and some businesses leaving the market entirely.

What is interesting is how Clinton professes to tell Cain that if all businesses have to endure the extra cost of Hillarycare, then they’ll essentially all be in the same boat.  Cain quite clearly and respectfully states how that thinking is inaccurate and, for his business alone, would require 3 times the “top line sales” to meet the costs and maintain their meager profit.

The Atlantic article on Cain from March, 2011 actually goes further basically calling Cain the saboteur of Clinton’s ill-informed healthcare aims:

 In 1994, Cain, then still CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, participated in a town-hall meeting that Bill Clinton held to drum up support for his flagging health-care plan. He challenged the president’s claim that restaurateurs would bear only a marginal new cost. Clinton objected, but Cain wouldn’t relent. “I’d had my financial people run the numbers,” he told me. The Wall Street Journal published them, and after Clinton’s plan collapsed, Newsweek identified Cain as one of its “saboteurs”—a badge of honor, especially among conservatives today.

This video is good for many reasons:

1) It shows the business understanding and knowledge of Herman Cain.

2) It shows the arrogance of Bill Clinton and, thus, his wife who tried and failed at a healthcare takeover.

3) It gives a good reminder why we don’t need either Clinton, Bill or Hillary, ever running this country again.

4) It gives a clear view of the liberal mindset on big government.  i.e. Force the business to provide healthcare they can’t afford and just ask the business to raise their prices “like everyone” else in order to cover the mandated government cost.  No thought to job loss, market dynamics, profit margin, nor the choices of the company….government should have the say.  That’s how these people think.

Frankly, it occurred to me while watching the video…Clinton dares to tell a CEO that they can simply charge more for their services (in so many words) which inevitably leads to more money out of the pockets of consumers.  It doesn’t matter if it’s a pizza company or a semiconductor business….the price of products have a great chance of increasing when government makes mandates on that company.

So, why have the government involved at all?  Clinton believes that consumers can bear those extra costs for products and services.  So why doesn’t he just ask the consumer to pay for their own healthcare?  Of course, Clinton is not taking into account any market dynamics that will change when costs are raised….but if he really thinks the consumer has that much “extra cash” couldn’t they just buy their own healthcare, if they wish, in the free market and forget all of the regulations on the business?

We all know the answer.  Hillarycare, just like Obamacare, was all about government controls, not about affordable healthcare.  Funneling that “extra cash” through the business via government mandates is THE solution in the mind of a liberal.  Better yet, funneling that extra cash to the government is ideal in the liberal’s world.

It never occurs to the liberal that the consumer pays either way….and what a cost it is!
