All Girls

Image
Sometimes I still can't believe that I have this family of ALL GIRLS! (Before I had children, I honestly thought I would have a boy first...girl, was I wrong).

I'm now to the point where, if we were to get a boy (that's NOT an announcement!) we wouldn't know what to do with him! I'm sure we'd work something out though.

I heard somewhere that mini photo shoots are all the rage right now. Well, they're certainly popular at our place! Here's a few silly moments we captured a few days ago.

First Day of a First

Well it came. The long anticipated and mightily hyped up FIRST DAY of KINDERGARTEN! I can't BELIEVE my first baby attended her first day of school. (Yes, cliche, but still, I am in shock). My mom warned me I would be surprised by my feelings on that day. I had told her how excited I was to get my little ball of energy off to school and have a little break (yes I am guilty...I was looking forward to the break)! When the bus rolled up to the house, I was shocked by the emotional feelings that suddenly stirred in me. She said it would happen, and she was right (as usual). Still, I was able to hold off the tears. I am just so excited for the new things she is going to experience...and SHE IS READY! Goodbye my first baby! We'll see you when you get home!

You can't tell here, but I think she was more excited for the bus ride than actual school!
*When she got home, the first thing she said was, "They didn't teach me how to read." Kids are so funny. It will take a little time Elle.

Sweet Addie

Image
As Addie watched the bus roll away I could tell she too was experiencing that sudden stir of emotions. She was ready to climb onto that bus with Ellie and experience a first day too! She didn't understand why she couldn't go...after all up until today she and Ellie did EVERYTHING together. Later that day, as we were driving to the Cafe with Grandma Jarman, she said in a sad, quiet voice, "I miss Ellie." Awww, melt my heart (Addie is the tender one in our little bunch).

On a side note:
Earlier that day, as I was attempting to do Addie's hair, she was studying herself in the mirror. After a moment this is what she said. "Mom, I have polka dots...like Kortnee" (her cousin friend). She was examining the little freckles that spot her nose and lightly dust her cheeks.

"Yes, you do!" Sweet Addie.

Dance Fundraiser

Image
Ellie has been in dance for a little over 5 months now and she's getting ready for their annual concert. This year the Dance Showcase Company will be performing Toy Story.
We're looking forward to her very first performance! We've set up a blog where our family and friends can help us raise funds for Ellie's concert fees. At the same time, you'll benefit from some DELICIOUS carmel corn from my FAVORITE popcorn company, The Nutty Kernel. If you'd like to help, or just want some dang good popcorn check out Ellie's Dance Fundraiser!

Halloween 2010

This year we decided we should spend Halloween with the Sheffers. So we packed up and headed out to Vernal. We visited family and friends. We carved our pumpkins (Shawn, by the way, was an excellent craftsman...haha). and enjoyed a pizza hut dinner. We dressed the girls and took a million pictures. Grandma, Lindsay, the girls and I hit some of our family and friends houses before we met up with Shawn and joined Heath and Megan for a ward trunk-or-treat.

As we were leaving the church, Ellie asked, "Is Halloween over?"
Me: "Yes."
Ellie: "Is it Christmas now?"
Me: Laugh. Laugh. Her little mind always racing!

And now, the evidence of Halloween 2010!

Toot Toot Tooting my Own Horn

It was an exciting morning this morning. But first, let me back up to Monday. We received an email from a Michelle of KSL's Studio 5. She wanted us on their show the following Wednesday for the segment "Love List." We, of course were happy to travel to Salt Lake to provide a couple samples for the segment. We parked under the LDS Business College and walked on over to the set of Studio 5. We thought we'd get to watch the segment right from the set, but ended up watching it right outside on a big screen tv. None the less, it was a lot of fun seeing the different people who make the show happen, set up and do their parts. And now,  see the segment for yourself...
