Relay race

Here is a video of Channing's swim team - the boys his age did a medley relay. For those of you who don't know what this is - there are 4 people and each person has to do a different stroke. Channing starts them off with the backstroke. He didn't hear the whistle and got a late start, but he flew past them anyway and kept his team in 1st place by about 10 yards and they ended up winning! He is in the lane closest to you - lane #2.

Rylan's 6th birthday

Rylan wanted a Ben 10 themed birthday. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ben 10 - basically he is a 10 year old boy that has a watch called the Omnitrix and it can turn into different aliens to help save the world of villains. Jason did a very good job at creating an obstacle course where the kids had to pretend they were different aliens to do the different stations. They all had a good time!

Rylan's Fun Run

I'm doing things a little out of order so bare with me.

Rylan wanted to participate in the annual community Fun Run held on May 1st. It's a 2 mile run through the town and they give awards out per grade level. Rylan won 1st place in Kindergarten. Here are a picture of all the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners. Rylan is in the front row.

Channing's swimming lessons

This summer Channing's swimming lessons were less conventional. The class he took taught him survival skills such as: how to blow up your shirt and pants as flotation devices while in the water (the teacher had them jump in one day fully dressed with shoes to practice), how to save someone who is drowning, basic CPR, and low energy strokes (side stroke, breast stroke, back float). they also taught the kids how to jump in without breaking bones (I guess in case they ever attempt high cliff jumping). Channing absolutely thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever done. He now thinks he and his dad should go out on a lake in a canoe and tip it over on purpose to practice all that he learned. Last day of class, they had races of side stroke, breast stroke, and back stroke. Channing won the back stroke, and came in 2nd on side stroke and breast stroke. He lost those 2 to one of his best friends, Kamiko. His ego was a little bruised because she is a "girl".

Rylan's kindergarten graduation

Here's my "baby" graduating from Kindergarten. The next thing I know, we'll be doing his high school graduation! His teacher's name is Mrs. Nowotny.

Florida trip over spring break!

Here are the highlights of our trip to Florida to visit Jason's parents. As you can see, we had a great time!
