Easter 2010

I totally forgot I downloaded these to the blog, but never posted them!  Here are some pictures of Hudson and our Easter festivities of dying eggs, and looking for his Easter basket.

He would dye the eggs then he would try to eat them.  What can I say the boy loves eggs!

I would put the eggs in the middle of this whisk that way he was not trying to fish them out with a spoon, he could just dip the whisk in the dye.

Once we were done dying Easter eggs, and we had to clean up you can see he was not very happy.  He   was upset because we had cousins over dying eggs with us and it was now 8 pm, way past his 7  pm
bedtime, and it was time to go to bed.

I don't know if others have this tradition or not, but in my family our Easter baskets were always hidden by the Easter Bunny.  We had to wake up Sunday morning, and find our baskets.  I remember as we got older my parents tried to find harder places to hide them.  Sometimes they were outside, or in strange cupboards.  We didn't hide Hudson's too hard, he found it within a few minutes.

Lovely mess with Easter grass.  I despise that stuff, but it's part of Easter right?

We were pretty stingy with the Easter candy, so I think he thought while he saw it he better eat it!

Um...Hudson slow down, I promise I won't take it away, and that's pretty gross!

Checking out the loot.  He received a tricycle, a few movies, cars, candy, and a handsome Easter outfit that I neglected to get pictures of!  I am going to put them in their outfits again and take some pictures to post.

Another tradition in my family is money eggs.  Every year when we would do our Easter egg hunts, a few plastic eggs would be filled with pennies, quarters, or if you were lucky a few dollars.  We have carried on that tradition so Hudson got a few eggs with money, or "Coins" as he calls them to put in his piggy bank.

I would like to add that during these festivities Ryker was sound asleep.  I promise we did not neglect to get him an Easter basket.  He enjoyed a few toys, some milk, and a can of oatmeal cereal for when he's ready.

Thanksgiving Point Easter Egg Hunt

Easter weekend we took Hudson to Thanksgiving Point for his first real Easter egg hunt!  We met up with a few friends and their kids, but left Ryker at home with Grandma because it was freezing!  Thanksgiving Point is a really neat place here in Utah.  They have a movie theater, dinosaur museum, golf course, beautiful gardens which are great places for weddings, I actually had my bridal pictures taken there in the gardens.  They always have something fun going on for the kids, and every holiday they seem to have an activity, this did not disappoint.  In addition to the egg hunt, they had an animal farm, bouncy house, the Easter bunny, train rides, and many other activities.  It was a good day, and I think Hudson had a blast, even though is little fingers were almost frostbit, I am such a terrible mother, I forgot his gloves!                         ImageImage
Here is Andy explainig to Hudson how to find the eggs before the hunt!

This was the funniest thing!  This cow must have been used to being fed by the visitors, because as we walked by she stuck her head out of the fencing and started sniffing and licking everything!  Hudson thought this was hilarious, and was laughing uncontrollably.  The cow even licked his shoe!

The best part is a few days later we were driving in the car, and Hudson kept saying "Dad, dad, dad, dad," fifty times over, and we mostly ignore this because he does it all of the time, and never wants anything, but to annoy us.  So Andy, finally says, "What Hudson", and he get's this big grin on his face and says "Remember the cow, licked my shoe!"  We were dying...first because Hudson was laughing, so we were all laughing in the car, and second we found it so funny that was a memory he had and he thought it was funny.  It made me happy that we take him places to do things, because sometimes you wonder if he even would care.  But to know he remembers them, and enjoys them was wonderful!

And we're about to fall over

My mom got this pillow for Hudson a while back, and he is extremely possessive of it.  No one else can lay on it, if you do, he will say "My pillow", and try to shove you off of it, so this was worth a picture because he was actually sharing his pillow without crying about it.  He's such a good big brother.

This is what our mornings usually look like, he is most likely watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I swore I would never let me kids watch television everyday, but we usually allow an hour or so in the morning.  I find myself singing the theme songs throughout the day too....man, I have become a mom or what?!

Huddy Boo Boos

For no other reason than I think he's adorable!  Here are a few semi-recent pictures of our little man.

If anyone knows our little guy they know he has a fetish with fuzzy things.  Both of his comfort blankets are fuzzy, and  he loves to touch anything fuzzy, soft, or furry.  Here he is with blanket batting,  he will take it and rub it on nose.  He mostly does this when he is tired, or comforting himself.  It is the funniest thing....I guess it could be worse.
