Happy new year!

So many good things happened in 2012 and I again find myself with a blog backlog.  Can you say that 3 times?  Blog backlog, blog backlog, blog backlog.

Anyway, here are some of our pictures from our Carribean trip back in May.  We went to Mexico, Belize, Honduras and Grand Cayman. 

Next on our trip wishlist are: Philippines, Ireland, Alaska.  Hope 2013 will bring more fun travels!

To say that the weather last week was great is an understatement.  It was wicked awesome to be able to stay outside without a heavy coat - and even bike, in the middle of March!  In New England!  Mackenzie was so excited, she even begged to get on her bike.  Here she is in her biker gear with her big girl bike.  

Pop quiz - what are Mackenzie's favorite colors?  I think the bike, the clothes and the gear do give a very visual clue.  Despite the girly colors, I think she looks like a really cool kid.  Better yet, she really is.  I love this cook kid.

For Christmas, everyone supported Mackenzie's nerdiness and gave her geeky things for presents.  Here is one of her pictures with her new hoodie and science kit.  I promised her that I'll attach these photos to her college application to Harvard.  I just love my sweet, adorable, little geek.

Family Photo

Last week, I was asked to provide a family photo for the ward newsletter and I went into panic mode since we haven't taken a family photo since 2009.  Aaaccckkkk!!!

Today, a great photographer from our ward (she is a published photographer and works with National Geographic) took a photo of us.  After 3 years, here we are!

Sorry for being MIA but there are TONS of stuff that happened to the Keenan household this year including:

• Mackenzie turning 4
• Trips to Boston
• Moving to Boston (!!!)
• New jobs for Silas and Michelle!

All of these events require a posting of their own so before I do the catch-up blog, I'll just start with the "What's up these days" post.

So here in Boston, the houses are a bit tinier than those in North Carolina (uhm, very obvious but needed to be stated).  In any case, we moved a lot of stuff here that don't have a place in our teeny-tiny apartment.  As a result, I need to give up Mackenzie's old clothes that I have been keeping for a future baby girl.  However, since the space is not here and the baby is stuck somewhere in pre-existence, all these cute outfits have to be given up.  Ouch.  Giving up is not something I like to do and you may call me crazy but giving up on these clothes is almost synonymous to giving up hope for another child.  Ugh.  I feel like I need some sort of a chocolate treat just to get me through the sorting and counting, and craigslist-posting of these items that for a while have meant "hope" for me.  

Current count: 108 pieces of 24/18-24 months shirts/tops.  Really, 108? 

OK, let me get that chocolate bar now.

I told myself I will update this blog more often - so here's to broken promises and expectations!
