Artsy Crafty

My awesome friend Candace is a wonderful artist. I love her prints. I love the beautiful colors, the texture, and the beautiful way they accent her walls. I have coveted having some of her art work decorate my walls but the next best thing are her note cards. Currently she is offering a giveaway on her blog. If I do something artsy I have a chance to win some beautiful note cards. So, my kids and I got to work. Halie's kindergarten teacher sent her an outline of a person that she was decorate and make look like her. I copied the person and made one for each of the kids then we broke out the fabric, markers, sparkles, and beads and went to work.
Image
The kids had a great time.
Image
Halie picked out all the accessories and knew exactly what she wanted.
Image
The boys decided to make aliens/monsters.
Image
I was proud of their creativity and remembered how much I love doing things with my kids.

Fun Stuff

I have fallen in love with a new embroidery designer. She can be found at Meringue Designs. All of her designs are slightly more modern and would look fantastic on throw pillows or other fancy stuff. Plus, her prices are so good. I used some of them and did these adorable shirts.
Image
ImageI have also had fun making covers for little brag books,
ImageAnd of course a custom baby set. Pretty Funky!
Image
I had a lot of fun creating some personalized clutch bags. Each one was made with some fantastic fabric samples from Firefly Designs.

Jack Henry

I have a very sweet friend that just had her first baby. He is the sweetest little boy. I do a lot of wholesale for her fun business called Paper Treats but lately all her business has been for her beautiful baby. We did a lot of adorable burps and bibs,

This is the second and probably last mobile I will do. Fun, fun, when they are all done. I am so grateful for Anna and her encouragement and support this past year. If it wasn't for here I probably never would have started my own business. Love ya girl.

Roman Shades Etc.

I don't get on this blog very often but I do want a way to document some of the projects I have been working on so here is goes. These Roman Shades were for a beautiful home that was contracted through Firefly Designs. We did the three in the laundry room,
Image
the two in the mud room along with custom bench cushions and attached lumbar bolsters.
Image
In the living room there were a set of bench cushions that were on either side of the entertainment center.
Image
So awesome. I didn't get any pictures of the roman shades we did for the guest rooms but I was happy with the client was happy with the finished product. This home had a lot of thought put into the design and I loved it. I wanted to take pictures of everything for the day I get to design my home.

Towards the end of last year (yes, I am a little behind!) I worked with a wonderful client that kept calling me back with her fun ideas. She was redoing her guest room and found a bunch of bedding on clearance. She wanted me to make a bed skirt, throw pillow,
Image
and window treatment using sheets and a duvet cover.
Image
What a great way to use clearance items. She also had me do 12 white on white Christmas Stockings.
Image
She had purchased all the materials several years ago and never got around to finishing them. For her two adorable granddaughters she purchased these adorable little cradles form PB and wanted matching bedding to go with them.
Image
We did a mattress pad, little blanket, personalized pillow, and adorable little doll bibs. Too cute!

In the Land of Fabric

I have been living in that land for the past three months and now I think I am ready to get back to reality. It has been very busy but I have learned so much and am working on changing my attitude about working. I feel so blessed to be able to work out of my home so that I can still be with my kids. I have the opportunity to work with so many talented people and feel it an honor to be associated with them. I have also gained some confidence the last few months once I have seen my creations (not my designs, I give credit to Firefly for that) take shape and finally displayed in a customers home. It is amazing what a change in attitude can do. So to start with, here is a cute little custom tee I did for Papertreats.
Image
In September I started on the Neilson project. What a job. I did 4 Hobbled Roman shades, 3 sets of panels, and 2 sets of table linens.
Image
Unfortunately this is the only picture I got before my batteries went dead. I then started on the Fisher Residence.
Image
This started in the Master Bedroom with a duvet cover, throw, two Euro shams, 2 standard shams, 1 bolster, and four throw pillows.
Image
To accent the window we did a full drapery treatment that started with a fabric covered cornice, sheers, and lined and interlined drapery panels.
Image
Man those were heavy. After that we moved into the living room.
Image
The bay window is accented by pencil pleat draperies and a box pleat valance. The Guest bedroom had 2 Euro shams, 1 bolster, and 1 throw pillow.
Image
I then did a set of Triple pinch pleat draperies on a decorative traverse rod.
Image
Wow, what a mouth-full. Needless to say it was a busy few months and it has been so nice to concentrate on things at home and less complicated projects.
