Park City

A couple weeks ago we had the chance to go to Park City and stay in Trevor's parents condo. It was a lot of fun.
Image
Here we are on the ski lift on our way up to ride the Alpine Slide. The girls LOVED it!
Image
Image
Trevor kept telling Skyler, "don't use your breaks whatever you do!" She was a little nervous!
Image
Halle loved every second of it...and I never hit the breaks! I wish I could have see her face. She was squealing the whole time! It was cute. :)
Image
Image
We also tried out the Alpine Coaster. So FUN!! If you have to choose between the slide or the coaster...do the coaster. We all loved it!
Image
This is Sky on her way up.
The scenery was beautiful, with all of the trees changing color.
Image
And what's Park City without eating at Baja Cantina! So good!
Image
The girls had fun riding their scooters around the parking lot of the condo, and IN the condo as well.
Image
Out of everything we did in Park City, this was the highlight of their weekend! The joy these girls get from hearing fart noises!

It was a fun weekend that's for sure!

Fun at St. Antony's

This year for Labor Day we went up to the sand dunes in Idaho. It was a lot of fun to be with the family, and my girls had so much fun riding the four wheelers!

We ended up staying in a hotel instead of camping. The girls loved being able to swim,

and of course, jump on the beds!

Thanks to Trudi for the invite, and Priceline for the cheap room!

Back in session

Image
Skyler is now in the 5th grade! I can't believe it. She is growing up so fast. She is loving it so far, and likes her teacher Mrs. Widdison very much.

Image
Skyler started a week before Halle did.
Image
It has been a tradition to take a picture of Skyler and Halle together on the first day of school. This was Skyler's first day of 1st grade. WOW...time flies!
Image
I thought for sure I would be doing cartwheels when I dropped Halle off to her first day of Kindergarten....but I was wrong! It was kinda sad to see her be so grown up. She did such a good job getting right into the swing of things.
Image
Halle was really excited to hear that Calvyn and her friend Taryn were in the same class as her. These 3 blondies are going to give their teacher a run for her money!

Here's to another year!

The "Ensign's" message for Halle

Remember Halle saying she would learn to ride her bike without training wheels when she turned 5, and then she turned 5 and decided that 6 would be a better age to obtain this goal?

Image
Well, she came across the "Ensign" and saw this picture and decided that right then, right at that moment would be a great time for her to learn to ride like a "big girl", so off she went!
Image
She hoped on her bike and taught herself how to ride. I hadn't even gotten my shoes on to go help her learn when she came running into the house yelling, "Mom, I did it...I can ride without my training wheels!"
Image
I went outside, and sure enough she could do it!
This was just another sign of her showing us that she will do things on her own time, her own way!
Gotta love her and whatever message or inspiration we get from the Ensign!

Whoopie Girl

Image
As most of you know this is the original "Whoopie Girl" who is the official mascot of the Ogden Pioneer Days celebrations. Her picture is all over during the month of July, and Skyler was "drawn" to her because... of course the boots, hat, rope, and
RED HAIR!
Image
This is Skyler's sketch of her!
This took her about 20 min to do.
We were all visiting at Trev's parents, and looked over and this was what she had done.
Image
We did a "google" search on the "Whoopie Girl"  and found out that the original painting is worth $100,000.00.
I saw the $$ in Skyler's eyes, and I think THAT has inspired Skyler to keep drawing.
**Don't be surprised if Skyler starts asking you to buy some of her art! ;)

July has come and gone!

Image
This year for the 4th of July we went to my friend Cheridan's house. It was fun to get together as friends and BBQ, make smores, and visit.
Image
Cheridan lives on what some might call a farm. She has horses, chickens, pigs, snakes, cats, dogs, and whatever else wanders through the yard.
Halle loved playing with this pig. She kept going over to it's cage and talking to it.
She loved to hear it "oink" back at her.
Image
Best friends since high school! We have so much fun together. Thanks Cher for a fun 4th!

Image
Clinton Day's was fun this year. Thanks to Adam and Deanna for setting up chairs for the parade and the fireworks. It was really one of the most pleasant parade/firework experiences I have had. (those things can get a little...how should I put this...not worth it!)

The girls had a lot of fun. We were wishing Trevor was there with us, but he was having his own kind of fun. He took the Cruiser out for it's first trail run of the year.

Lusk Family Reunion in Bear Lake!
Image
Meet "Ginger" G-pa Guy's new dog.
The girls loved this little dog. I'm not sure ginger felt the same, well at least about Halle...after she buried her in the sand from the neck down!
Image
We spent most of our time at the beach.
Image
The girls had fun building a sand castle together
Image
The boys had fun building a "raft" out of supplies provided by the reunion
Image
It was a contest of who could build the best "raft" in 15 min.
Image
The "raft" had to hold at least two people. These were the two brave, (and lightest) family members we recruited.
Image
Let's see if this thing works!?
Image
Their floating! Our family did an awesome job!
Image
Cute girls doing some crafts
Image
Robby and Autumn bought a boat, and took us all out for some fun. I think G-ma had the best time! She did not want to get off. She said it was so great seeing all of the kids ride the tube. She couldn't believe they could stay on for so long...especially with Robby driving!
Image
Oh Deanna....don't kill me for posting this! I LOVE IT!!!

Erin on the knee board.

Trev on the wake board!
This was the "adults only" boat ride. Thanks to Maddi and Heather for watching the kids while we went out.
Image
It was a fun weekend with the family.
G-ma Larsen is the last one of her generation, so it was nice to share this weekend with her.
