Met down at the La Jolla Brewery Saturday night to celebrate the 60th Bday of my father in law Steve. We gathered with Friends and family to honor and celebrate Steve. Ian and Alana flew in town to be there. The bartender Aaron was cool, and served me wine in a plastic cup. He became lame when he would not add a lid and straw to cup upon my leaving.
Headed over to the West End where I smoked way to many cigarettes and tried to blend into a very young crowd. While enjoying (?) a smoke outside with Jill, Scott and Mike, A tool in a pappy cap asked Jill and I if we had just met those guys. (Scott and Mike.)He then went on to say we could do better. HA HA. Mike and Scott were cracking up and the jack ass went on to say that he was a local. Upon challenging him he said he went to mission bay (he couldnt really say when he graduated) and grew up here in PB. (couldn't tell us what street he grew up on.) After we started laughing at how dumb he was he went back inside looking like a dog with his tail between his legs. It was so hard to believe what had just transgressed, and it was hysterical. I was so grateful that Eli had not been out there who would have had the guy licking concrete. Although that could have been funny.
Mike bitched out and made us drive him home so Eli, Ian, Theresa and I went back to Scott and Jill's house. There we danced repeatedly to anything Gwen Stafani and Theresa and I are now best Friends, as we declared several times in the night. Theresa and Ian went home leaving Jill and I to continue the dancing. It wasn't until around 3am when Simon and Garfunkel came out that I passed out on the couch. Eli and Scott talked politics until about 5:30 am. I woke up around 9am ready to party some more and headed over to a bar to eat and watch th egame. So lame. I hate bars and Games. So my buzz was killed and suddenly I really wanted to sleep. Too bad I had a long day a head of me.Still the night was great and it reminded me that friends are great, wine is good, and cigarettes are disgusting.
