Summer Catch-Up

So it has been forever since the last time I have done anything with my blog. Between work, kids, and life the last thing I want to do is get on the computer when I have a chance to myself. But here I am finally getting around to an update. I won't bore everyone going back to November 2009 (since my last blog was in October), but will start with this past summer. Hopefully I will do better this go round.

We had a very busy summer full of friends and activities. It flew by fast, but we had a blast.

Western Idaho Fair
Image
Papa Jake paid for the girls to ride a horse. Amelia was quite impressed with the whole thing until the horse got a little jumpy and then she wasn't too sure about the whole horse thing.

Amelia and Kendal.

Amelia and her cousins Amaya and Kendal. Such little posers.

Camping in Grand Jean
Image
Playing in the little creek by our cabin.

Image
It was so beautiful up there. There are natural hot springs all over and we found ourselves one. If you got too hot you would just let a little of the freezing cold river water in to cool off.

Early morning bottle. My cute Charlotte all snuggled up.

Image
Hiking around enjoying the beautiful scenery and refreshing air. I love mountain air.

Image
Catching a ride on Pa-pa's shoulders.

Swimming
Image
Amelia finally built up enough courage to go down the slide with her dad. She found she loved it, but was basically screaming when Spencer carried her up the stairs.

Charlotte loving the turtle.

Car Races
Image
Spencer and I decided to take Amelia on a date to the car races. She loved them, which I am so glad about as I love the races as well. Brings back memories from when I would go with my dad all the time as a little one.

Goofing Around
Image
My girls are getting so big.

Image
Can't forget a picture of our first "baby" Bell. She wants to be apart of everything as well.

Image
My sweet Charlie with her big beautiful brown eyes and georgous eye lashes.

Summer Friends
Image
My best friend Jeri made it up to town and we headed to the park.

Amelia being a great big sister and sharing her snow cone with Charlotte. I was so proud of her; this does not usually happen.

4th of July
Image
We headed back to good 'ole Gunner street for fireworks and BBQ. Amelia did not care for the fireworks and spent her time on Billy's lap with ear muffs on.
Image
The men were a little bored and decided to poor gas in a line to some flower fireworks that didn't go off in hopes that the gas would help...it didn't. But they had fun.
Image
Playing with the gas and getting ready to light it.

Amelia seeking comfort from Jana before settling in on Billy's lap.

Image
We did get her to do a sparkler with daddy's help.

I head off to work and Spencer and Charlotte snuggle back in for some extra zzzzz's. (Not fair)

Sushi
Image
Yeah that's right...sushi. I was proud of Amelia, she tried it. Nothing is better than heading out with friends for good food.

Provo
Image
So we headed to the Bean Muesum in Provo. It is really cool. It has all the animals, beatles, bugs, shells, fish that you can think of to look at. Rule breaker Cody touching the lion.

Image Spencer and his little brother Joe. Although, he appears to be taller than Spence.

Image Most of the kiddos at the museum. Can you believe this isn't even all of the cousins?

Image At Courtney's high school graduation, we became pretty clever in entertaining the kids for the 3 hour graduation. Yeah that's righ, 3 hours for a high school graduation. Not a good idea with kids.
Image Amelia and her good buddy cousin Kenzie. Those two are little peas in a pod.

Halloween

This year Amelia actually helped me carve pumpkins. She had no problem sticking her hand inside to scoop out all the gooies.

Image

Image
Finished product. On one of the pumpkins, I took the drill to it. I later got in trouble for getting pumpkin guts in the chuck. Oops.

Image
This year the girls wore 50's poodle skirts. Whenever someone would ask Amelia what she was for Halloween, she would respond a Pluto. I don't think she really got it.

Image
Yes, even Charlotte had a skirt. A big thank you to my step mom for helping me interpret the pattern. They sure can write those things confusing.

Image
Charlotte wasn't too happy about being out in the cold.

Image
We headed over to Nana and Pop-pop's house for dinner and trick-or-treating. Cousins Kendal (Zebra) and Amaya (mermaid) stopped by.

Image

Image

Image
Daddy and his girls. Spencer took Amelia trick-or-treating while Charlotte and I stayed warm. Amelia then helped hand out candy, which she really enjoyed. She would yell for Spencer whenever the doorbell rang; he was glued to the TV watching the World Series.

Apple Picking

A group of us headed out to Emmet to go apple picking. It was a beautiful day and the colors were gorgeous.

Image
Off to hunt apples.

Image

Image
How Charlotte picked apples...all snuggled in the front pouch carrier. We were a little late this year, so most of the apples were up high in the trees.

Image
We used Amelia to get them down for us. She wasn't the biggest fan of daddy sticking her up in the tree, but it worked.

Image
She realized the faster she would bat them down, the sooner she was put down.

Image
Ahh...the fruits of her labor. The apples were delicious and I think they tasted even better knowing we had just picked them.

Image
Spencer asked why the girls weren't in fall colors and I just looked at him. I think he forgot that their closet is a sea of pink.
Image
She is just as photogenic as her daddy.

Image
Exhaustion at the end of the day. I just love it when they get this tuckered out.
