Christmas Stories

Dinner...check. Bath...check. Bedtime story...dad's on it. There is nothing better than sitting down and enjoying a good Christmas story.

Check out that animation!!! Even Amelia had to take a glance.

Uh-oh. Busted taking pictures.

What a cute smile (minus the big wad of gum in her mouth).

Dance Recital

Well, we made it. Amelia's dance recital was Tuesday December 16th and we survived. I had to have her there fed, costumed up, bag full of activities and treats, and a whole hour before it was to start. We made it.

All the little kiddos waiting to go out and perform. Thank goodness for all the moms who stayed behind to entertain and wrangle all the kids.

Her whole class. They did two songs, one ballet and one tap. Amelia is on the left, the littlest one.

Image
I was so afraid that she would just stand there, but here is evidence that she did some of the moves.

They were all so cute and did just a great job. There is nothing cuter than 10 little 2-3 year-olds dancing.

On to tap.

Another move...

At the end Ms. Cami had all the dancers come out and wave to the audience. I just love the shoulder wave little Miss Amelia is doing.

Her daddy went and got her from the back and she was so excited to see all of the family that came to watch her and to receive her very own rose. We had such a fun evening. I was a very proud momma watching my baby up on stage dancing. She is growing up before my very eyes.

Dance

So we put Amelia in dance this year. I think it has been really good for her to experience. I think she likes it, but I have a feeling she will be the child that just stands there at the recital. These are pictures from "picture day." All 10 of these girls were so cute dressed up in their tutu's.

Not quite sure what that face means, but cute anyway. I do feel bad as all the other little girls have their hair done up so cute, but poor Amelia. There just isn't much I can do with her hair. I do have to say that I am quite thankful, as I am sure Spencer is as well, that we don't have to mess with it in the mornings.

Yeah...Snow

Sunday we woke up to snow. Amelia was so excited and all she wanted was to go out and play. I finally convinced her to eat breakfast first and then she could go out and play. I hunted around the house looking for all the parts and pieces to bundle her up. She was getting quite impatient with me as she wanted to "taste the snow."

Cute as an Eskimo.

Getting ready to grab the first bite.

Product in hand...

...and the taste. Verdict: Yummy.
I felt bad as she would have really like a friend to go out and play, but I wasn't quite in the mood to bundle myself up, so I sent the dog out with Amelia. The next thing I hear is the door shutting and Amelia quite upset. She comes marching over to me and tells me, "Bell has my glove." I look outside and Bell (the dog) is running around the yard with Amelia's glove in her mouth. She was having quite the time. I opened the door and called Bell. She came, but of course dropped the glove in the middle of the yard. As I went to get my boots to head out and save the glove, I overheard Amelia mumble to Bell, "That's not nice."

Kuna's Beautiful Sunsets

That is one thing that we are very blessed with experiencing...Kuna's beautiful sunsets against the Owyhee Mountains. The other evening we were outside and the sunset was just gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice, but the way the clouds were forming and the colors...even Spencer was in aw.

Pictures

This year I decided to kill two birds with one stone...I took Amelia in for her Christmas pictures and had her 3rd birthday pictures taken as well. I figure she won't change that much in a month. I thought is was difficult when she was younger getting her pictures taken, I have learned that I had it easy. She did not want anything to do with the lady taking the pictures and screamed when I would stand up to review the shots. When the gal would try to pose her, the looks Amelia would give her. Next time I will be sure to bring bribing treats. There is nothing more embarrassing than when your child screams and everyone turns to look. She eventually warmed up and we were able to get some shots.

Cute little angel...well, most of the time.

She insisted on wearing her cowboy boots. I admit I don't mind at all as kids look so darn cute in cowboy boots.

It is so hard to believe that my little girl will be 3 January 18. The time really has flown by and I can't imagine my life without her in it.
