Christmas morning Reed said to Chandler, "I think I heard Santa on the roof!" Chandler sat out of bed and said, "Me too!" Then he ran for downstairs. It was fun to see him so excited and because he was then Deegan was too. They both got a little table with Thomas the Tank train set and it was the first thing they went for. Deegan found a little dog that played music and had candy in his stocking. That was good for him, with that in his hand and playing train with the other hand he was content and didn't care to open any other presents. Hey at least he was happy. Unknowingly Reed got me Wii Fit and I got him (with family help, thanks!)Rock Band I & II for the Wii. So now we will have lots of fun stuff to do when its freezing outside and we are stuck inside to play, which will be all winter! We had a Merry Christmas I hope you all did too!

Christmas Eve

Image
Image

It was tradition in my family to open one present on Christmas Eve and it was some pj's to sleep in. So I decided to keep the tradition. And it is fun to a family pic all in our pj's. Image

We also had an awesome dinner at Jen's house. She did most of the cooking and it was so good! Thanks Jen! Later we went to the Hammonds and decorated sugar cookies with them. Jay put Carter right to sleep. He was just to excited for Santa to come it wore him out! It was fun. The kids loved it. I know I had my share of cookies and cheese ball. Don't you just love the holiday food!!!!!! Thanks for inviting us!Image

Sledding Christmas Eve - Bloody Mess!

Image
Image

Image So Christmas Eve Day we decided to go sledding. There wasn't very much snow but it still worked. It was warm(as warm as it gets) and there wasn't very many people. Basically it was perfect. The kids were having so much fun. Chandler kept saying, "Mom, that was fun!" every time he went down. Deegan was even daring and went down on his tummy all by himself!

And then it suddenly turned to a bloody mess when some kid who wasn't watching or didn't yell to warn us, came flying down the hill and hit Deegan head on right in the face! He was screaming and his mouth was gushing blood. He was covered in blood and my coat was pretty bad too. Sorry that was graphic but it was so scary. So we grabbed all our stuff and I grabbed Deegan and ran for the truck. We got home and I cleaned him up. Total damage: a big cut on the inside of his cheek, a fat lip, a scratch across the outside of his check with swelling, redness and a little bruise, and probably a headache. The poor little guy is such a trooper. It didn't stop him from eating a nice Christmas Eve Diner, cookies, and candy. So my kids will always be taught the safety of sledding each time they go. Please teach yours too!

Sitting on Santa's Lap

Image We had our ward Christmas Party and look who showed up. Carter is so surprised.
Image Chandler didn't want to sit on his lap. Go figure!

Image Deegan wasn't scared at all. He walked right up and got in line.

Image While everyone was trying to get all the kids in line to sit on his lap, Camden walked right up to the front and just jumped right on!

Daniels Christmas Party

Image This was the Daniels Family Christmas Party. We stayed at the condo in Wolf Creek. This was our red and green fiacus(whatever) Christmas Tree! We had a yummy dinner and celebrated Emma and Chandlers Birthday. Then we had our White Elephant exchange. The kids played and watched a movie. The guys went and played some mean tennis rounds.
Image Deegan is eating like always!

Image Chandler, Kason, and Deegan were playing a fishing game of Grandma's. Notice Chandler's fish are lined up!

Image Tyler, Reed and Jordan thought they were little kids. First they were throwing balls and hitting each other. Then they took the mattress off the bed and went down the stairs. We thought the little kids were crazy and noisy but that was nothing compared to these guys!

Image We just locked the kids in the closet under the stairs. They loved it!

Image We did a white elephant exchange. It was fun. No one really did any mean or really bad gifts except for ours. We gave a CD of Ashley Simpson and my dad ended up with it!

Nativity Sceen

Image

Image

One of the Smith Family traditions is to read the story of baby Jesus while the kids act it out. They even get to dress up. They are getting better at it the older they get! This year it was staring: Blake as Joseph, Mckenzie as Mary, Carter as Baby Jesus, Camden as The Angel, Devin, Chandler and Bridger as the Three Wise Men, and Deegan as one of the Sheperds. Grandpa has to read really fast cuz they don't keep their customes on for very long. I think they have fun. The adults have fun watching!Image

Christmas in Heaven

Recently we lost a loved one, Grandpa Nebeker. Grandma Nebeker was given this poem and she wanted us all to had it. It is really beautiful and might make you cry!

Christmas In Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
With tiny lights like heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tears,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear.
But the sounds of the music can't compare with the choir up here,
I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones you know I hold you dear,
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift from my heavenly home above
I sent you each a memory of my undying love
After all love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other as my father said to do
For I can't count the blessing or the love He has for each of you
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

Goodbye Blake

Image Reed's little brother, Blake, was called to serve a full time mission in the Hungry, Budapest mission. He accepted the call and last Sunday was his fairwell. He spoke about the Book of Mormon and his testimony. We meet afterwards and had dinner with friends and family. We said goodbye that night. It was sad but we are so proud of him. Wednesday he entered the MTC in Provo.
Image

Image My boys just adore Blake. Especially because he takes them on Motorcyle rides and flies his airplanes for them. Now this house is all about riding and crashing ATV's! When he gets home they will be old enough to for Uncle Blake to teach them to ride.

Image Thanks Blake for being such a good example to all of us ecspecially to my boys!

Christmas Activities

Image On the way to Layton from Thanksgiving we decided to take our time and make some fun stops. We went to Thanksgiving Point and saw the Christmas lights and up at the water tower they have some of Santa's reindeer, Comet and Blitzen.
Image Comet and Blitzen, they are so small. Not like in the movies. They are probably only 3 foot tall!
Image Some of the fun lights.
Image
Image We also stopped at the Provo Towne Mall. Santa wasn't there but Chandler, Deegan, and their cousin Kason got to ride the train. Well worth $3!!!
