I stink at blogging!!!!

I miss my blog! I miss being able to write about whatever the poop I want! (where else do we get to do that?!) I have slacked off and haven't even written about our cute new little addition that is now almost 8 months old! I'm lame, I know. Well here is a fast little recap!

My friend Tara and I finally did something real with our makeup obsession! Check it out:

ImageImage
ImageWe frequently practice on the kids. Although it's really just a big plot to make them go away. If we paint them colors, they run around outside and show people, thus getting them out of our hair. Brilliant, I know.

ImageTara did this one! We told him to stop smiling so we could take the picture. The smile was killing the effect! :)

ImageBen, the cutest pest around.

ImageLittle Ian got his tonsils out a few days before I had the baby. That was a fun week. I'll do a whole post about that.

ImagePoor little Nathan broke his hand while riding his scooter. He then used his cast to whack his brothers.
I take back the "poor little Nathan" comment.

We got a puppy. So cute!

ImageHis name is Jack Bauer. We just called him Bauer though.

Image
Then he turned into a horse.

ImageImageImageReally smart, great dog...although you wouldn't know it from the pictures!

ImageThen he decided to start eating everything, including the BBQ and the power cord to the AC unit outside. So we had to find him a new home.

Poor little Ben told me the other day that when he turns 8 and gets big, he has to go to Salt Lake to go to a new home like Bauer had to. :( :( So sad!! So I told him that was only the dog and that he is our little boy forever!

I sure am glad we could screw up our kids by getting a dog and then getting rid of him and making them think they are next. :( :( I blame Joel. He can't argue because he doesn't know my blogger password.

I went to San Antonio with my 5 week old baby. Found out that the hotel was haunted. Ghosts like babies don't they?!!? I had my own room and it was freaky!! (I really should do a whole post about that!)

Image
Drove out to Denver to see Larry and Peggy and the boys. Went through Wyoming to avoid crappy mountain weather. Pretty huh?

ImageMost boring drive EVER!!! Never going back to Wyoming unless I'm forced. Seriously, I just dozed off a bit just looking at that picture.

Our sweet little Nathan got baptized on June 4 of this year.

Image
ImageWe are so proud of Nathan for making the choice to be baptized!

ImageWe are also very proud of our eldest too. Isn't he photogenic?*

ImageWhy is getting a cute little family picture such a hard thing to do?!

*Apparently Dallin was making a Zombie face. I didn't want to tell him because I don't want to encourage him, but that's a pretty good zombie face!

sigh....

Let's see....what else has happened in the last year? Oh yah! We brought home one of these:

Image
What's that you say? You've seen this little guy before? That's because he is an exact replica of older brother Nathan. He is so cute though that he deserves his own blog post. I will do that this week...I PROMISE!!

I'll quit now and actually post this! But going through pictures on my phone and computer, I realized there is way more fun to be had, so stay tuned....

Little Ben Tidbits

I started this post thinking it would a short and sweet little 5 minute post with a sweet story. The End.

Nope. I kept finding so many cute pictures of our little Benjamin, that I know will bring smiles...so I had to share. :) I am completely obsessed with this kid. If you don't see why then why are you even reading our blog?! ;)

Our little Benjamin is so obsessed with Temples. He gets so excited to see any temple, and is especially in love with the Manti Temple.

Image We have taken him a handful of times, so he talks about going and touching it, and climbing the steps, and all the other things he remembers about it. He found a little puddle by it once and talks about splashing in the puddle. He also climbed the steps to the big door on the east side. He tells us how that door is locked and when he gets big he can go in. Such a sweetheart!

We took them to the Provo temple after General Conference.

ImageTelling Daddy something terribly important.

ImageSmelling flowers.

We just received the October edition of the Ensign, which was the new Temple edition. Ben is in love with it and wants to look through it before nap and bedtime. He always has to point out Angel Moroni in every picture.

While looking through it yesterday, Ben and I saw the picture of the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane.

ImageI asked him the standard question: "Who is that?"

Ben: "Jesus Christ."

Me: "What's he doing?"

Ben (with really big eyes and looking excited): "He holding a spider!!"

I love this cute little guy! He is such a fun little boy who talks so well and is always so happy. He definitely has the same big smile as big brother Ian. He is totally a daddy's boy, which makes me crazy. He likes to say things and then he will say, "Serious." As if he really really does mean it!

He stepped on Dad's feet tonight and it was pulling the hairs on Joel's legs. So Joel goes, "Ben, that's hurting Daddy." So then Ben puts his hands on Daddy's cheeks and says, "It's ok. It's ok." Joel didn't have the heart to say, "No it's not ok! It hurts!"

ImageBen's current favorites

Favorite book: The Tooth Book by Dr. Suess.

Image
Favorite cartoon: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

ImageFavorite automobile: Jeep
He gets very excited now every time we see one.

ImageFavorite animal: Horse

Image
ImageFavorite place to visit: Uncle Alan's house

ImageBest Buddy: Luke

Image(stuffing their shirts with blocks)

ImageOk, story behind picture: Ben had taken off his clothes and put on Ian's underwear over his diaper. They were both terribly amused by this and I didn't bother to fix it. Then I was upstairs and they were being really good downstairs! "Really good" is code for "really quiet". I finally went down to see what they were up to. They had taken every container of Playdoh we own - which is a lot - and smashed all the colors together. If you know me and my Playdoh OCDness, you would know that I had to take many calming breaths. Then I had to get a picture of them. They were very pleased with their work, however, I think Luke might have been uncomfortable with the wardrobe choice of his buddy. :)

Favorite place to go: "The new park"

Ian's Favorite Things

It is Friday afternoon. Baby just went to sleep. We've had a very busy week, and now Ian and I just want to kickback and hang out. But we are running out of things to do that are lazy. So, we have decided that Ian is going to add a fun post to our blog. He is 5 now and is the perfect age to share his thoughts on life.

Take it away Ian!!
ImageIan: "Hot dogs are the best! I wish we did sandwiches instead because I like sandwiches!"
ImageIan: "The Wii is fun! I like to play Mario and I like to be Toad on it. I like to play with my brothers on the Wii." (mom loves it to because we fight a lot!)
ImageIan: "I like to jump on the tramp. I can do a bunch of somersaults! Nothing else. Type that Mommy. Nothing else."

ImageIan: "I like to watch Tom and Jerry."
Mom: "Why?"
Ian: "Because! I just like to!"
Mom: "What makes them funny?"
Ian: "Because Tom always looses. He does!"

ImageIan: "I like to watch the Pink Panther!"
Mom: "Why?"
Ian: "BECAUSE!!"

Mom: "Bud, I'm just trying to get some cute answers! I'm not trying to bug you!"
Ian: "You are bugging me Mom!"

Ian: "Mom, is Pink Panther the end?"

ImageIan: "I caught a bunch of Rolly Pollies yesterday and put them in my new bug catcher thing-a-ma-bob."

Ian: "Is that it? Because I don't want to do anything else."

ImageIan: "I like to see butterflies and I like to see them fly."
Me: "Why do you like butterflies?"
Ian: "BECAUSE!"
Me: "Do you like what colors they are? And do you like to see caterpillars?"
Ian: "Yes!"

(Really in-depth stuff huh? At least Grandma will eat it up.) :)

ImageIan: "I like all the Characters at Disneyland! Now there's no more!"

"That's hilarious what I said, that there's no more! I like Disneyland. Hehe! How come you're putting everything on that I am saying?"

He is now just leaning on my arm giggling, amazed that I just keep typing everything.

"Mom, now can we put it on the blog? Can you say, 'Now there is no more.'?"
"No, now can you say, 'Super there is no more!'"

"Now go put them on the blog!"
