For many months now, I've wanted to post a blog 10 great things about my good friend Binzer. I wanted to actually post on her birthday (three months ago) and thought during that day, I had only a moment to do it but passed it up. Whitney (her daughter) emailed Christian this morning and I just wanted to publish what a wonderful person she is.
10. I loved serving with her in Primary, she had great object lessons that not only children could learn from, even adults learned from her wonderful lessons.
9. She is a good communicator. I think people with great verbal skills have a real talent.
8. She is kind to EVERYONE and never gossips!! She have great ears for listening.
7. There are only a handful of people that are very kind and sweet to Tyler and she is one of them. Because it takes alot of patience sometimes to be around him, she is on the top of my list. She was NEVER unkind to him and always talked to him like he mattered.
6. Collecting fast offerings from them was always a very sought after route.
5. She has "Breck" hair.
4. She is a great card maker, which I miss terribly!! One of my most memorable birthdays ever were when she invited several people with very cute invitations to a card party hosted by her where she made several cards, enough for everyone there to make a sample of. And she provided yummy treats. She was my partner in crime in freezer meals. My favorite meal is still her (I actually think it was Julie's recipe) chicken enchiladas, it freezes great!
3. She loved her husband and it showed. They were a fun couple to be around.
2. She taught her children to love everyone. One time during one of my sharing times, sweet Elyse being in the front row as a new sunbeam, jumped up and hugged my legs and said "I love you, Sister Smith!". That made my heart swell.
1. Best of all she was a great example to me of how to be a great mother, wife, and friend. I remember having her talk to her kids so matter of factly, I thought, I wish I could be her child, or be a little fly on the wall so I could learn more. She is a person that I emmulate. Everytime I went away from her home, I went away happier and actually didn't want to leave. I wish more people could have Binzer lessons.
I love you Binz!!!
