Father, forgive me when I doubt You. I pray Your peace will replace fear in my heart. I do not want to believe the lies of the enemy. Please guard my mind and help me to grow in faith so that others will see You and Your power at work in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen. |

| Unshakable Confidence |
Was reading on GIG,dated 4rd March and found it pretty encouraging.. So i thought of sharing it here... Enjoy...and be encouraged =)
She was among an eager group of four-year-old children crowded around my feet as I taught their Sunday school lesson. I was the teacher and they were the students - or at least that is how it started out. The pint-sized audience listened intently as I tried to create a mental image of Jesus and His disciples trapped in a thunderstorm on the Sea of Galilee.
"The winds bleeeeeeew and rocked the little boat back and forth, back and forth.
The waves were soooooo big; they splashed over the wooden sides and got the men all wet. Then water started filling up the boat - and do you know what happens when a boat gets full of water?" "It sinks," they chimed together. "That's right." I continued with a wrinkled brow and concerned look on my face.
"That's not all. The lightening was sooooo bright; it looked like fire in the sky. And the claps of thunder were sooooo loud; they could feel them vibrate in their chests." After painting this picture of impending doom and thinking I would have my "congregation" just a little worried about the fate of these men trapped in a storm, I asked the question
"Now if you were in a tiny boat like this, caught in a terrible storm like this, would you be afraid?" Then one precious little girl, confident and unshaken by the entire scenario, shrugged her shoulders and replied, "Not if Jesus was in the boat with me." I will never forget that answer. I have come to realize that this answer calms all our worries and fears.
Just as the disciples had the storm raging all around them, many times the storms of life rage around us. A friend discovers she has cancer, a husband loses his job, and a child is born with birth defects. These are storms with waves of emotions so high that our lifeboat fills with tears and appears that it could sink at any moment. Waves of fear rock our boat and threaten to spill us into despair without even a life jacket to keep us afloat. Storms cause us to doubt who we are, what we have, and where we are as a child of God. Waves of emotions rock our faith.
"Tell me, would you be afraid?" "Not if Jesus was in the boat with me."
And guess what. He is. God said, "I will never leave you or forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV), and Jesus said, "Surely I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 26:20).
Although the pain may be great, we do not need to be afraid that the storms of life will destroy us, because Jesus is in the boat with us. His power can calm the seas and still the storms of life that threaten to pull us under.
P/S : When you're at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on..(just thought of sharing this wisdom quote i got from facebook):P

Father, please forgive me when I complain about the burdens and problems that come my way. I want to face each one with joy and peace. Give me the faith to trust You and to daily surrender to Your plan - even when I don't understand it. Help me to stand firm when I want to give up and remind me that You are working all things together in my life for my good and Your glory. Today, I choose faith over fear. I choose Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen. |

| Climbing Out Of the Pit |
"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry." Psalm 40:1 (NIV)
At some point in life, we all will find ourselves in some kind of pit, the darkness settling around us like a paralyzing blanket of hopelessness. That deep, dark pit may have many names, but easily becomes a prison from which escape seems impossible. The journey out of that pit is a process of steps uniquely planned by your Father.
Step One: Wait for God.
Step Two: Cry out for help.
Many times, those who are imprisoned by darkness and depression look for help in the wrong places.
8th Jan 2010 4rd church got attacked...
Lord, guard and lead us through this difficult time,I pray... Grant this nations peace, understanding, and wisdom to see what's right and wrong.. Guard every heart and mind,O Lord....for they do not know what they're doing... I pray for Your protection hand upon us..Help us to be still and I pray that You'll break every misundertandings, confusions, anger, hatred, resentments and may justice prevails.. In Jesus' precious name,Amen

The Shepherd became a Sheep
By Sharon Jaynes
The angels appeared and called to me
"Be not afraid, dear one.
For you are now a lowly sheep
For you God sent His Son."
"Go to the babe and see him there
We will lead the way.
The shepherd has chosen you - a sheep
To celebrate this day."
We ran and saw the baby there
I'll never be the same.
He raised his eyes, said not a word,
And yet he spoke my name.
Years have passed and now I know
This babe became a man.
He lived and died and rose again
And now I understand. "Follow me," Jesus said,
"And I will lead the way."
"My sheep listen, know my voice
And with me they will stay."
I was a shepherd, to be sure.
My sheep slept at my feet.
But on that night the babe was born,
I became a sheep.
Last but not least..I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas...Let's wait in anticipation of the grand celebration that tomorrow brings. Thank you for the gift of Your Son. Thank You for redeeming grace..Thank you for sending a Shepherd for me - one of Your sheep =)

| The Tiger (Woods) in You |
Prior to this recent series of revelations, there wasn't a man on the planet who in some sense didn't want to be Tiger Woods. Tiger is good looking. He's physically fit. He's a world-class athlete. He has a beautiful wife and two beautiful kids. He's rich beyond anyone's wildest imagination. He had a father who loved him—not just in words, but in action, pouring himself into his son, building a love that survives to this day, in many ways making Tiger the man he became.
Try as we may, there aren't too many men who can lay claim to all of these elements of success at once. Tiger has it all, and it wasn't just handed to him. He came by his success through hard work and discipline. He earned it.
In recent weeks, however, Tiger's personal life has become the stuff of tabloid journalism. While details remain unclear, it appears his beautiful wife may have used one of Tiger's own golf clubs to knock him senseless when she discovered he only had eyes for—at last count—nine other women.
It could have been worse. Tiger could have been an abuser: an abuser of controlled substances or an abuser of his wife. There's no evidence of any of that. He could have been an embezzler. Not satisfied with having it all, he could have stolen even more. He didn't. Like another famous athlete, he could have struggled with jealousy, flew into a rage, and killed his wife. Didn't happen. Tiger Woods isn't as bad as he could be. But neither is he the role model he appeared to be. He's not a thief or a murderer. He isn't an abuser. Tiger is simply a serial adulterer. He enjoys being in the company of a variety of women. Tiger has just this one quirk, one besetting sin, one shortcoming, yet that quirk was the trip wire over which his entire world has come crashing down.
There isn't a man on the planet who in this sense isn't Tiger Woods. There isn't anything in Tiger that isn't in you. None of us are as bad as we could be, but the propensity for lust, lying, anger, and unfaithfulness are all there—hidden in a heart that is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. There isn't any one of us who is not capable, like Tiger, of saying, "It's only this one time. No harm."
A moral code can keep the tiger in you in check for a time. The fear of getting caught is a restraint that keeps most men within the boundaries of their marriage. I'm sure it was that way for Tiger Woods. We have admired him as a man of disciplined perfection. But that discipline, that self-denial, which was so characteristically on display in Tiger's athletic prowess, failed him with immeasurable consequences in his personal life. When push came to shove, Tiger had a great fall. Discipline, apparently, isn't enough.
Neither is the power of the law and the fear of getting caught enough to restrain the depravity of the human heart, and yet that's all most of us are counting on to keep us on the straight and narrow. No man, no matter how disciplined, has what it takes to keep himself from falling. Every man has an untamed tiger within, waiting to pounce at the first sign of weakness. The moral of Tiger's tale? If you're looking for perfection, you won't find it within yourself. Discipline and restraint are in themselves never enough to produce perfection, because all that is in us is depravity. Failure is inevitable. But failure is never final.
There is hope for overcoming failure. But it isn't in you. And it obviously isn't in Tiger. It's in a Lion: Jesus Christ—the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, introduced to us in the inspired writings of the Bible, whose birth we celebrate this month. This Lion has prevailed over our untamable propensity for sin and failure. He has triumphed over every enemy poised against us for our personal destruction. He did it by taking on himself the likeness of our weak, vulnerable and sinful flesh in his incarnation in Bethlehem, living a life of perfect obedience to the demands of the law, becoming obedient to the point of death, thus procuring the perfection that all of us long for and which God demands.
Jesus is perfect because we aren't, and because we can't be. And he doesn't keep his perfection for Himself. His perfection is for us, and for our salvation; and for Tiger's. After all, there's nothing in Tiger that's not in you.
