1 year liao.. 1 more year to ORD!!
Last saturday 14 june 2008 marked the day which i had completed 1 year of NS. i am going to ORD in 14 june 2009 which means i still got 1 more year to go.
Well let me say about this 1 year of my NS life. It is not easy.. from 1 young boy to a 1 year old soldier. I still could remember how i was feeling on my enlistment day in tekong. I was breathing heavily.. i dunno why sia. maybe too nervous.. Then after saying bye bye to parents, we went to have our hair cut botak. Unforgettable man. From there on, i went on to start my army life. Soon 3 mths ended, i POP from tekong.
After that i was posted to 40SAR to become armour infantry trooper. I was abit depressed then as i hope to have a slacker vocation after BMT. But i didnt, i got into armour which would say quite xiong. That time was tough i keep telling myself it is just 2 years only.. everyone go through the same shit with u.. blah blah.. Basically trying to think positive lah. After 2 mths of trade course (learning new weapons), i got my black beret (Armour) and surprisingly i got this Best Matador Gunner in battalion during the trade couse.
Soon after that, my xiong life begun. Countless of outfields, live firing.. what a life for me man. And now? i am preparing for NDP 2008. woohoo..
There is a huge change in me from a year ago to now. Like my face got more pimple outbreak.. ahaha anyway i certainly learn something from my 1 year of NS. Mental strength is the most powerful tool of all. In army, i found this line "Its all in your mind" the best. Now i really believe in mind over body as i had completed things like i never think i would be able to do it.
Life in armour is not easy and is not difficult. Its all about having a positive mindset. I hope to have this till i ORD (by right i should have this positive thinking for the rest of my life). I have seen the schedule for my 2nd year. Life after NDP 08 would be tough again as we will have to go through some sort of final "exam" (test whether can fight anot) before ORD.
I am very grateful for my family members and friends who support me along the way especially my parents. U all are the best!!
