Work-out buddy

Image
Image After I got off the elliptical tonight and was getting ready to do some sit-ups, Bennett decided he wanted to work out as well. So he grabbed one of my smaller weights and mimicked everything I did. He was so cute and kept saying, "I work-out too, Mom." I love this little guy!

Santa Bennett

Image This was Bennett as we put the Christmas tree up last night. The stockings on his feet, Santa hat on and him walking around saying, "Ho,Ho,Ho I Santa!"

Just a little snow....

Image So we woke up to a ton of snow. Which in Carson City= Snow Day!
Fun for the kids, not so fun for the Moms! (just keepin' it real!)

ImageIt reminds me of the snow we would get in Boston or Salt Lake.
Too much!!

Image The kids had a blast and drank plenty of Hot Chocolate throughout the day; trying to unthaw their frozen limbs!

Concert

Image Ready to take Lex to her first concert; the Kelly Clarkson concert!

ImageGarrett thinking he needs to pose for a picture as well.

ImageThe opening act, Parachute. They were actually pretty good.

Image And Kelly singing. It's hard to see but the best I could get with my camera and the batteries dying on me! Lex had a blast and sang along with quite a few songs. I was in awe that I have a kid old enough to take to a concert. When did that happen??

Ready to go

Image Today is the big day! It's their Primary Program at church. They have worked so hard on learning their parts for the program and did such a good job. Garrett told me, "Mom, I need to get a new white shirt and tie for the Primary Program so I look really good when I'm up there!" So we went shopping yesterday and I let him pick out what he wanted to wear. I think he did a pretty good job.

Bennett the busy bod, to say the least!

ImageExperimenting with a brown marker. Nice!

ImageMmmm...the sweet smell of Desitin!

ImageNope, that's not chocolate on his hands! You guessed it! Why do kids feel the need to do that?

ImageAnd here his is, so cute and cuddly!
Thank goodness for these few moments.

Breakfast Anyone??

ImageSo I woke up this morning and to my surprise this is what I found. This is what Bryan calls "his solution to the overwhelming amount of Halloween candy we have." Let them eat it all at once and then we will be done with it! So Bryan is the hero of the day in our house! The kids think he's the greatest. And when they are all puking later, he can have fun with that too!

ImageBon Apetit!

The real Halloween...

ImageWe started the day out by going to the Carson City Parade. And it was about as exciting as parades can be.

Image
ImageThen the real fun came. After the parade we headed on over to our friend's house to play. After a fabulous BBQ, we did some skateboarding on their gi-normous half pipe, rode bikes and motorcycles.

ImageMe and Bennett sliding down the half-pipe. He was a little nervous, being that this one is much bigger than the one's he's use to at the skate park. (we went down like 50 times!)

ImageGarrett geared up and ready to go. He was so stoked!

ImageThere's my little man. No fear at all!

ImageBryan took the kids out on one of the quads. Here he is with Lex. She was sooo excited to get to ride with him.

ImageGarrett got to ride his buddy Halen's motorcycle all by himself. After crashing into a large bush, he got the hang of it. He had so much fun and guess what he wants from Santa this year!
It was such a fun day and the kids were exhausted by the end of it!
Happy real Halloween!

Happy Halloween, October 30th!

ImageYep, the post title is right. Our Halloween was on October 30th here in Carson City. Why?? Well, the Nevada Day parade and festivities and all were to be done on Saturday the 31st. This gives the majority of the people an excuse to really drink it up, big time! So to keep the kids from getting hit by drunk drivers, they did Halloween on the 30th.

ImageBryan's brilliant idea for our costumes was to have me be a celebrity and him the paparazzi! We had a Halloween party to go to so it was fun to get all dressed up!
( Thanks Dianne for the fabulous costume! You Rock!)

ImageAt the party, it also happened to be Bennett's best buddy Beckham's b-day party too. It was so funny that the 2 of them both ended up being Buzz Light Year. Even funnier, when Beckham was trying to blow his candles out he couldn't get the second one out. So Bennett, being the loyal friend that he is, saw his buddy in distress and casually walked up and blew it out for him! It was hilarious! Way to have your buddies back Bennett!

Happy Halloween!
My next post will be what we did on the real Halloween!

"Girly Girl" Par-tay

ImageLex went to her first "Girly Girl USA" Party on Saturday for her friend Belle and had a blast!

ImageThey get to have their hair done, make-up done, fingernails painted and get a Girly Girl T-shirt.

ImageThen they all got to sing to their hearts content. Lex had been practicing songs for weeks in preparation for the party. She really does love to sing and pose for pictures; as you can already tell.

ImageHere is a group picture. Aren't they all so cute, all glammed up and ready to go!

Trunk or Treat Part 2, "The Pumpkin"

Image
ImageFor our Trunk or Treat par-tay we were supposed to bring a decorated pumpkin. Little did Bryan know that it would be like a 3 hour project for what he had in mind. So unfortunately, he didn't get it finished in time for us to take it with us but finished it when we got home. Had we been able to take it though, I know he would have won. I think it turned out pretty cool and is definitely blog worthy.

Trunk or Treat

Image
My kids were so excited to go to our church Trunk or Treat tonight. They have been wanting to get their costumes on for weeks now. So from L to R we have: Garrett, my Knight in Shining Armour, Alexis, the Glamour Witch and Bennett, as Mr. Buzz Lightyear! They had a blast and got way too much candy!

Lattin Farms...

ImageOn Saturday we took the kids to Lattin Farms. They have a corn maze, petting zoo, hay rides and a huge pumpkin patch. Lex and Garrett were ready to head into the corn maze.

Image
ImageIn the maze. Bryan with the kiddos.

ImageMe and the kids.

ImageAfter the corn maze we went on a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch where you get to pick out a pumpkin. The kids had a blast and had a hard time choosing the perfect pumpkin. Bennett was so proud to find this one.

ImageI love this pic of Garrett.

ImageLex seeing if she will be able to carry her pumpkin back to our ride.

ImageBryan finding the perfect pumpkin for me. Such a good guy!

ImageAnd at last, our finds for the day! I think we did pretty good.

ImageI love how many different kinds of pumpkins there are. And gourds as well.

ImageFunky gourds!
All in all it was a really fun day. We did the Corn Maze in 40 mins. Not a record time but not too bad either. I get to go again with all the youth from our church in 2 weeks. We are going at night, so it will be interesting to see how quick we can get through the maze then!
