PINE WOOD DERBY!!!

Matthew had his Pine Wood Derby on the 16th! He was so excited to go this year! Matthew told Robert that he wanted a truck this year so Robert helped build him a truck. We thought it would be cool for the truck to have something in the back but we had nothing. Our neighbor came over one night and Matthew showed his truck to him and told him that we were still looking for a fouwheeler or a motorcycle to put in the back of it and when our neighbor went home he found this little blue fourwheeler. It worked perfect!! Here is Matthew before the race.
Image This is the end of the track.

Image
This is the begining of the track. Our Cub Scout Master found this guy that will come down and set up his track for 50 dollars. He sets it up and does the race for the boys. He gets them all excited and tells them all the rules. This track was AWESOME!!! It was all computerized and timed the cars by the thousandth of a second. The computer keeps tracks of all the cars and times and at the end the guy prints out a sheet for all the boys so they know how fast their car went every race. Matthew won every race except he came in 2nd twice. Once was are fault though. The guy said that sometimes the cars will go faster backwards so we tried it once and that is when he got 2nd once. He would of got 1st though.
Image After the race the guy hooks these cool loops on and lets the cars race for fun. Matthew truck is obivously the red one.
Image Matthew also received his Wolf badge! We are so proud of him and he LOVES scouts!

Image After all the races the computer comes up with the fastest car and guess who it was?
MATTHEW!!!! He won first place and he was so excited. He could not quit smiling and he has been telling everyone. He was on cloud nine forever!

MATTHEW BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!

Matthew turned 9 on March 6th. He had a birthday party and had a blast. We ate pizza, opened presents, played musical chairs, and then we made teams of two and they ran to a chair and had to sit on a balloon and pop it. Then we came and ate doughnuts and played the wii. I was crazy to have 7 boys running around. They are very loud and outgoing kids, but it was fun!!!

SCHOOL PICTURES

The kids had their pictures done with their whole class and then if we wanted to we could buy the package deals for their individual photos. I think I packages started out at $22 so I decided to take a few pictures myself. These are not the best but they will do for now.

Pictures, and Funny story.

Matthew had Blue and Gold Banquent and we had to make a cake. I baked it and he did most of the frosting with a little of my help. I am so proud of him, he is loving scouts and he is dong pretty good. He will be earning his Wolf badge next pack meeting which is March 16th. This month is Pine Wood Derby so he is way excited. Him and Robert are doing a truck this year.
Image Matthew got his remote Helicopter from Santa this year. He loves it and does pretty well with it.
Image
Brianna got a table that she can draw on with dry erase marker. It came with two chairs so her and Dyllon are usually in her room drawing. She loves to draw, color, read, and make up stories.
Image

Dyllon got a play tent with a tube to crawl through. A big hit for a few days but got destroyed fast. This little boy is a trouble maker, but I love him so much.
Image

Robert and I refinished our piano. I LOVE it. Matthew is taking lessons and he is doing pretty good. The teacher only had room for one student so Brianna will start when she has another opening.

Image So the funny story is that today Dyllon and I was at a convienent store buying a treat. A older man was checking us out and Dyllon starting talking to him. He said that he had an older brother. The man aked how old and Dyllon said "Matthew is 8, Brianna is 6, and my mom is 32." I just laughed. They guy said well how old are you?, He said 4. Then the guy said actually your mom is only 26. It was pretty funny. Kids say the darndest things.

Sorry no pictures.

I don't have any pictures right now just because I have not downloades them yet. I just want to try to keep up on what has gone on this year. We celebrated the New Year by having Roberts brothers come down. Charles, Annette, John, Holly, Sydney, Brooklyn, and Emily all came to our house and we ate lots of yummy food. The kids went to bed and we all stayed up and played phase 10. We watched the ball drop on the tv and finshed up our game I think aroun 1:30 a.m. We had lots of fun visting.

It has been really cold here so the kids just stay inside and play. They usually are downstairs making a mess with all the toys or watching a movie. They are pretty good about playing with each other with a fight here and there, but not to often.

Brianna and Matthew are playing Jazz basketball again this year. I need to get some pictures up and posted. They have practice every wednesday night at 6 for an hour and their games are on Saturday anywhere between 9 to 5 at night. They both love playing and Matthew has gotten really good at it. Brianna is getting a lot better to, she can actually make a basket with no help. Robert and I take turns taking them to practice and Dyllon likes to go. Dyllon is excited that he will be able to play next year.

Matthew and Brianna both got their report cards this month too. Matthew got 3 A's at 2 B's. We are very proud of him and he is doing really good in school. Brianna gets graded differently since she is still in the 1st grade. They get E's for Excellent, S for Satisfactory, and I think I for improving or something like that. She got all E's and S's. Her teacher says she is a great reader also. According to what the school system says a average 1st grader starts out reading 10 words a minute and is so post to be at least 75 words per minuted by the end of the school year. Brianna started the school year reading 35 words per minute and is already reading 101 words per minute. She LOVES to read. She will go into her room and read to herself for hours. I love that she loves to read.

Robert started working in Rigby this month so he has to wake up earlier because of the commute. He actually has been getting up at 5 and working out and then I get up at 5:45 and get his lunch made and his breakfest cooked. Then I get the kids up at 6:30 to get ready for school. His job is going great and we are so very blessed that he got this job! He still needs to take the hands on test which they say should be in March.

We also started a budget system this year and it is going great. I also have made a few things out of my scrapbook paper that will help us out. I made envelopes and a Recipe holder. I will take pictures and post them. I also have made some vinyl stuff with my silhouette machine. I have just completed a 6 week menu list for our dinners also.

Everyone has been feeling great and we have lucky that we have been able to stay away from all the sickness that has been going around. Knock on wood. I hope all is well with everyone and I will get some pictures up and posted soon.

New Years Goals

This year I have a few goals that I am going to be working on. My first big goal is to organize all of my kids pictures that are on the computer and get them in a photobook. There is a website on the internet called Shutterfly and it is so cool. I am downloading all our pictures onto the site and creating photobooks for all my children. Then hopefully I can just stay caught up by scrapbooking the rest of the albums. The thing is though is that Shutterfly is so handy that I might just do all my scrapbooking online now. I am addicted. I have went through all the pictures that I have already and organized them. Now I just need to get their books put together and get them printed out.

My next goal of course is to lose more weight and keep it off. I lost 35 lbs last year and I have been able to keep it off. This year I want to lose another 30. I am a Biggest Loser fan and the season that is on telivision right now there is actually a dad and daughter couple from Shelley ID that is on it. I decided to go onto the Pound for Pound website and donate 20lbs of weight that I am going to lose by the end of May. Every pound you donate they will donate a pound of food to the food bank. I am way excited and it helps keep me motivated. We have our exercise room down stairs all set up complete with free weights, ab cirlce pro, mini trampoline, and a eliptical that we are borrowing from my parents. Robert has been getting up at 5 in the morning to exercise and I usually exercise during the day or at night. Now that Robert is going to Rigby to work I get up at 5:45 to make breakfast and his lunch.

My next goal is to get my craft area all organized. I have been going through my ribbon, beads, and scrapbook stuff and trying to get things oraganized. I have been wanting to do it for a while but have not been motivated.

The other big goal that Robert and I are doing is budgeting. We are doing the Dave Ramsey envelope system if you are familier with it. It helps us keep track of where our money goes and how much we spend. I hope all is well with everyone and that you will all have a great year this year.
