Yep, must change this someday.

Seriously, the rookie league is getting tough!
Dallin is playing summer softball (2012) and is doing fairly well, don't you think?

Career Day May 2012
Okay, this is so bad. I meant to post about his career day at school before he actually has to go back to school. Bad mom-mom.
Just your typical school day event -- career day. I asked him what he wanted to be and he said an astronaut. So, I put my creative juices to work and this is what we came up with. I must say, his outfit turned out fairly decent for a craft challenged mom.
***You have to click on the photo's to see the detail we put into his costume. Might re-use this for Halloween, unless he wants to be something else?***

This is what we came up with. Not to shabby if I do say so myself. He was so excited to show off his rocket that we built together.
Had to show you what we did to the back of his shirt. We also printed out all the kids in his class and added each of their pictures to the rocket.
I know we are in for a lot of girls calling the house one day, he is a chick magnet!
Singing to the office staff and principal. His teacher was so amazing, wish we had her for his entire grade school years. Here's hoping next years teacher is just as devoted.
Class photo of everyone in their career day costumes. Some really adorable ones, I love the little girl on the far right hand side. Can you guess what she dressed as? A movie star... and she was posing like crazy. Too cute.
He had to explain his costume to the entire class and all the kids got to see their photo's on his rocket. His teacher did make a great comment... So, how come there aren't flames coming out of the rocket boosters? Little did she know I made some, but didn't have time to attach them. So funny, she laughed so hard when we explained how come there weren't any flames.
One other little comment about the "movie star" girl. When she was explaining her costume, the teacher said turn around Dallin's mom is the paparazzi. I cannot believe how fast his school year went by and how lazy I have been in blogging. Shame on me.
My little man is growing up way too fast for me! Binks my love.

Father's Day 2012
I know, I know... I've been a bad blogger lately. Better late than never?
Wanted to post this because it was so much fun to make for Father's Day. I asked the Little Man of the House questions about his daddy (The Big Man of the House), and this is what we came up with. I just wanted to do something special, I always think that homemade gifts or cards are filled with more love than Halmark. You should have seen my Men of the House's faces. Pure joy! Especially the part about his hair. Priceless. My Little Man came up with his own answer, no help from me at all. Enjoy ~
Binks my love for being such a kind, loving, funny and beautiful Little Man.
Flying High
For those of you who know anything about the Staley's is that we have one heck of a photoshop wizard. Take a peek at the latest creation.
Of course that amazing picture of one of the best looking kids on Earth makes the entire thing work. Thanks Christine, you are the best photographer.
Promise to get back to posting, just one busy summer. Hope everyone has an enjoyable summer.

Space...
Dallin's Space Odyssey
http://youtu.be/cWnmCu3U09w
As you all know Dallin is obsessed with anything having to do with Space. So, I have tried to capture a few of his crafts and rockets he has built or had a little help with. He never ceases to amaze me at how creative this little man of ours is -- he creates missions, draws each planet in the solar system and makes sure to remind me the order they go in. Remember he is only six, I think I could basically play with my Barbies at his age. HA
My little artist. We went and got canvas and acrylics for him to paint out part of his story.
Cheated on this one, already printed out just colored and plastered on the fridge. Isn't every home that has a young child have a fridge like this?
He went to town with his stickers.
He makes his own books. Starts with a colored cover page, then puts white paper for the pages of the book, then another color page for the back of the book. Staples them down the left side and goes to work creating his stories. Had to capture a few for memories.
One of his Space Books had an alien dog that looked a little like a rat. Too cute!
Blasting off from Mercury.
Rocket going home to Earth.
Back to Earth -- love this kids creativity.
He even numbers the pages of his book.
Not enough room to spell it all out so he improvised, that's what being an artist is all about.
He drew this all by himself, I had no input whatsoever. He knows the colors for every planet.
Space the final frontier -- to boldly go where no man has gone before. Okay, a little Star Trek geek here, just be thankful I didn't put on my uniform and play with my transmitter. (giggle)
We're going home. Love the stick figures.
We're HOME!
Hard to read this one, I think it's called the Planet Book?
Next blog on space will be with the actual solar system we made and a few rockets, the space shuttle, a satellite and a "special" career day section.
So proud of my little man, I know I go on and on but I just cannot express in words how much love I have for him. I think back to when he was my little glow worm, could carry him in one arm for the entire day. Now, I can barely lift the little (big) man. He is very tall for his age and has a few girlfriends that flock to him daily at school.
Binks my love, remember -- no one will love you like your mom-mom does.

Easter 2012
Finally getting a chance to post about our small little Easter we had at the house. Easter Bunny decided to make us his last stop on his rounds. Our little man didn't go to bed until late the previous evening because he was so excited about the EASTER BUNNY!
Part of his stash. Easter Bunny was too tired to decorate like he normally does. Bad Easter Bunny. :-)
More goodies...
Yes, this is his hair in the mornings, although this was a "good" morning for us. He rushed out of bed and did a bee-line to the goodies.
Our little man is so smart he remember that these Eggs were from last year. He kept saying, why did the Easter Bunny bring me Eggs from last year?
Not a great photo, we have a huge window that can blind you. Excuse the mess, just had to capture that adorable face.
All in all, we had a wonderful day and the sugar rush continued for at least a week. Oh, for those of you who know how he loves to read, he has decided to write his own books. He gets out color cover paper, white paper for the inside, staples them down the left side and then write his own novels. We have a few on the Easter Bunny that I'll post in another blog.
Love you my little man, even though you are getting to be a BIG boy you will always be mom-mom's little man. Binks my love.

HONOR ROLL 2012
So happy to share this with everyone! Our little man has done it again, HONOR SOCIETY for the school year 2012 and we have pictures to prove it this time. He was also awarded the Principals Best, which only a few kids got in the entire school. Our little guy was one of them. I knew it wasn't just me who thought he was quick to pick up on things.
Definitely some gene's were handed down from Daddy AND Mommy. :-) Math and Science = Daddy. English, The Arts, RECESS and Flirting = Mommy.
**Should be able to click on photo's for larger picture.**

Our little man accepting his certificate. Lately, his favorite thing to do is put his hands in his pockets -- I mean like all the time. I think he got this from his older cousin he hangs with. So cute!
Yep, got my green laces on again must be picture time.
Yep, that's him flirting with all the girls.
Hey? What does yours say?
Getting antsy.
Almost done with the ceremony then off to get my surprise. WOHOO
Time for my surprise yet?
Yes, honey it's time for your surprise. We were so proud of him we decided to go on a shopping spree to the toy store. Remember how it was trains 24/7, well now we are into the Solar System. Got two rockets he got to build with daddy and took them down to the park to "blast off."
We are so proud of you, our little man continues to make our house a home. So blessed.

Kids Are Funny
No photo's again, just a very funny story that brightened my day and made everything worthwhile.
Dallin shared with me what he had learned in school today during our play time together. We normally draw, read, make-up stories (he is very good at this), or if weather is permitting go outside and play. Today, it was cold and windy so we decided to stay inside and just play. We did puzzles, continued our drawings, talked about our solar system, planets, etc.
Back to my first train of thought in this post. For the next two weeks in school they are concentrating on farms and everything about farms. Today we were playing with his planes and decided to make them rockets and they had to land on each planet that we had previously drawn. We would blast off from Earth and we had a satellite that would talk to Mission Control. We did the 10 minus 5 and waiting for lift off! He decided after a while that a rocket had to blast off and circle around all the planets and land on Earth, but particularly Texas. After we coordinated our mission with Mission Control, got our flight path and landed on Texas. He told me that there are farms in Texas and I asked him what are on farms? What do they do? Do they plant vegetables and harvest them then take to town to sell? What else was on a farm? What kind of animals? He then proceeded to tell me that there are cows on farms and that's where milk comes from. I said how? He said (exact words): You go up to the cow and squeeze their "thingy" as he pointed to his private parts and that is where you get the milk from. By this time I am basically on the floor laughing so hard while trying to keep a straight face. He asked me what was so funny? I replied: Honey, I think you mean that you get the milk from the cow by milking them using their utters. He goes, oh yea, right.
Oh, that just made my day -- took away all the "issues" of daily life in pain. What joy this little man has brought into my heart. I honestly think he is the true definition of love. I cannot imagine a day where this little man makes me rethink my own life and how I react to things or situations. Such a blessing!
I am so blessed... My son has a wonderful teacher in Mrs. Long, she has taught him so many things and continues to praise him daily. I personally think teachers are truly placed on this Universe to open up a childs' mind to endless possibilities. They are over worked, under paid and not praised enough for their devotion to our children.
Even though I know not many people read my blog for whatever reason. I just had to document this for myself and our son.
Dallin honey, you make me proud every single day. Thank you for being such a sweet, kind, gentle, loving soul. I think Grandma Boo had a lot to do with sending you to me.
Binks my love!
Remember, nobody will love you more than your mom-mom. XOXO

Challenge
A friend of our family is doing something inspiring and it has got me motivated. I know, shock and awe. She is blogging about her quest for being healthier and stronger. What amazes me is that I think she looks great, but it is not always about how others perceive us -- but rather what one feels or feels the need to change. Her name is Jessica Toolson and you can read her blog http://ryanandjesstoolson.blogspot.com/ and see what I mean. She is gorgeous, has a beautiful family, but yet wants to improve upon herself. So she is the definition of inspiring to me.
She is so courageous, she is posting her measurements, weight, etc. But she is also including her workout's and has guests on her blog as well. She introduced me to one hundred pushup site, http://www.hundredpushups.com/ which is a blog all about push-up's and how to increase your strength. Let me tell you that I took the test and didn't do too bad for an old lady.
I plan on following her example and getting my body some well needed attention. As long as my health allows, I will do my cardio, yoga/pilates, weights, etc. I won't publish any photo's, not that courageous but will keep track of my progress. Chart my fitness daily, meals, etc. I remember what I looked like before we had our beautiful son, and would love to get back into feeling better about myself. It's not about what I weigh, that is a pitfall for me, but rather how I feel in my clothes and if the exercise and diet changes affect my pain level. My hope is that some natural endorphins will kick in and will be able to live a better life for myself and my family.
I have to praise my loving husband, he is my rock. Without his support daily I'm not sure I could take care of all that needs to be done by myself. I have days where it is difficult to even walk and he has been there for me without hesitation. So, honey I'm hoping to get back to where I could manage my pain better and lesson your load. You do so much for our family, but especially for me. I would be lost without you and our beautiful son. Thank you for being my husband and being an exceptional father to our son. I'm truly blessed. Binks to my little man and big man.
Wasting time...
Well, I finally found yet another way to waste time... Pinterest. I'm obsessed, I cannot stop, there must be a support group around. Anyone know of one? You can find my board at http://pinterest.com/dsmommom/. If you need something to do and can't sleep or just want to waste away your day, this is the place to do it. Amaze-balls!

Oh Yea Baby!
Sorry it has been a while since my last entry, we have all been battling the same cold/flu that is going around. I came across this video and thought it would be a quick entry.
About four months ago I noticed that when I would scratch Dallin's back he said -- "Oh, Yea baby." I have absolutely no idea where he got this phrase from, I do know that the first time he said it I seriously had to run and use the ladies room. I never laughed so hard. To this day he still does this and his voice changes each time.
This video is taken in the dark, bad lighting and sort of difficult to see, but you will get the idea. Enjoy, I know I do every time I view this one.

Nothing But Net Baby...
We have decided to enroll Dallin in his first basketball league and I couldn't be more thrilled. If you know me, you know I love me some basketball. It's a small City league with adorable kids that are at various stages of learning the game, we have an amazing coach and our little man loves basketball. I'm still hoping for my starting point guard for a warm climate NBA team... PHOENIX SUNS anyone?
What is fun is that they don't keep score and don't call any fouls, traveling, etc. My first game I felt like I was the ref, in the stands going... that's a foul, that's traveling, hey -- people what about the score? LOL I have since calmed down a bit and decided to be the Teams photographer instead. Gotta prove that I can use my new camera with his BIG lens this time. :-)
Here are a few pictures I have captured and trust me I will be boring everyone with all my posts about his basketball.

Warming up with daddy. *note to self, get headband for all that hair.*
Pass it back with the GRRR look on your face. Remember you can walk the walk and talk the talk.
Stretch it out everybody.
Game plan
So funny, arms up for defense and most of the game you will catch someone who has their arms up just because.
Hysterical, look at Dallin's face. Yep, it was an early game.
Notice almost everyone has their arms up.
Coach helping Dallin dribble that ball.
You can do it little man.
Okay, bring it down the court buddy. Look at the guy in the red shirt, his body language.
Okay, still in the same place, bring it down Dallin.
Hey! Did someone put grease on this ball?
Okay, the guy in the red might take a nap.
Time to pass the ball, finally says the guy in red.
Well being posting more from this game on my next post. We are so proud of our little man, he is growing into such a BIG man. Daddy said he wants to retire someday, so we have to practice every day.
Love you my little man, you are doing a great job! Binks.
