Stampin' In Alaska

Wow, today really flew by for me! I took the day off from work  thinking I would finish some projects and clean house. Instead, I have worked on my project for Unity's Friends with Flair throughout the day. While checking out all of the inspiration posted for FWF I came across Mandi's adorable calendar wall hanging. This was my inspiration for the  altered calendar canvas that  I created using Unity's ....trust the creator . I started with a burlap canvas that was in my stash. The sweet Phyllis Harris image was stamped on dictionary paper and colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I applied acrylic paint directly to the burlap  then a layer of Mod Podge to adhere the paper.  The sentiment was stamped on a Kraft pocket and a 2015 calendar adhered. I added miscellaneous lace, twine ribbon, pearls, a star pin and tiny cones that I picked and dried while hiking in the mountains around Alaska. I w...

This week's Picture Perfect challenge at  Paper Smooches SPARKS blog really caught my eye! So many possibilities.... metal, colors and  of course the stacked pebbles. My card features Paper Smooches Chubby Chum Pals  and Surf and Turf The images were colored with Copic markers.  Glossy accents were added to various areas and Liquid Applique was added to the hats. Art Impressions is embracing the winter this week with a "Feeling Frosty" challenge. Although we don't have penguins in Alaska, I thought Penguin Pete (Sku G3060) would work perfectly for a frosty card. The stamp was embossed with CTMH Black embossing powder and colored with Copic marker then fussy cut. The snowy background was created using the Country Landscape die from Memory Box.  I tore a couple of strips from white cardstock then applied Stickles to the edge for snowy shimmer and dimension. Finally, I applied a line of glue to the edge of the base panel and sprinkled on Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter Faux Snow. I really like how this frosty card turned out! Wow, it seems like this week flew by! It's Friday already and that means Unity Friends with Flair . I am sharing another adorable Phyllis Harris image that I colored while camping this summer. This is one of the first sets I bought  from Unity called Brandy and Emma: Constant Companions I found the sweet background paper in my stash from Pink Paislee Switchboard paper line. The clean and simple design was inspired  by the current Unity {be Inspired} Challenge sketch.

I can't believe it's Friday already!
