Today, Ariana participated in her first 5K. She has been looking forward to it for a while. She ran in the Hesperia Stake Turkey Trot at our church. It was bright and early this morning.....so we were up and out of the house at 6:15 AM! We arrived at the Church at 6:30 for registration. Then she warmed up a little and waited for the race to start.
At 7:00 or so, they sounded the horn and off she went. I was able to show her a map before so she knew about where she was going. Plus, being in our home town, she knew about where to go...and there were runners in front and behind her to make her feel better. I told her to just watch for other runners and follow the signs!
27 minutes and 26 seconds later, she crossed the finish line! She came in 38th place all around and 2nd place in her division of Females 14 & under. There were just under 100 runners in this 5K. I am so very proud of her! The only girl in her division to finish before her was 1 minute and 2 seconds ahead of her. And she is on a school cross country team and has been training for this and other 5K's for a while. Being Ari's first run, I was extremely proud of her!
For taking 2nd place in her division, Ari received a sweat rag with a turkey and "2012" on it. Plus, she now has bragging rights with a certain person from our ward at church who challenged her to beat him!
I have pics on my phone so I will try to get around to uploading them later on!

LOOOOOONG Time
Ok, SO I am REALLY REALLY bad about blogging! It's been way too long.....so here is a quick update. Maybe I will be better about getting on here every now and then and not every year or longer!
Aiden is getting ready to start the 8th grade. He completed his seventh grade year with a 4.0 the entire year. He also was placed (after mommy pushed for it) in the 8th grade math class last year and now next year (in August) will attend the high school one period a day for math. Its bitter sweet. I am proud of him and all he has accomplished, but he is still so young and will be attending high school with 18 year olds and he is still only 12!
Ari is growing up very fast. She played fall soccer on a girls team and her team won the league. They went on to win Commissioners Cup with her scoring the most goals in all the tournament! In spring, she played on a co-ed team, but was the only girl on "co-ed" in the league and her and Aiden were on the same team together. So basically, she was a girl on the boys team! Lol! She will be back with the girls in fall. She is really progressing beautifully in the violin and come fall, is going to start on both the violin and the flute. In August she starts the sixth grade. Only one more year til she goes to the Jr. High
Noah is our little nutball! He is continuing to progress in his music and soccer. He now plays the drums, xylophone, bells, and all the auxiliary percussion instruments. This past January, he was the only 4th grader to be chosen to be in the San Bernardino County Honor Band. And he was so little, all the other kids (all sixth graders) were sitting and he was standing behind them and you still couldn't see him! He also is a soccer star. He made the All-Star soccer team this past fall and loved it. He was the only 9 year old on the team with a bunch of 10 year olds who now moved up. He is a pro at heading the ball and can really control where he places it, which is outstanding for a kid his age.
Jinelle is still our little monkey. She still cannot sit still and is constantly go go going. She loves to sing and dance and spin and jump and play. She also is really progressing in soccer and will be playing up a division this fall. She is going into the 3rd grade and is very excited to be starting band. She still hasn't decided on either the flute or violin, but knows she wants to play an instrument. She is very excited to be 8 years old soon.
Jason and I are both doing well. I fill my time with babysitting my baby niece Giselle (Desi and Manny's baby) and I started cake decorating classes. I took course 1, 2, and 3 and will take my 4th and final course after the summer. It has been a lot of fun. It is nice to be able to get out once a week and do something just for me. Jason is working and coaching the kids in soccer. He is also Scout Master for Aiden's scout troop. He only has a few days left to work and then he is off for almost an entire month for vacation. We are looking forward to spending some good, quality, fun family time together. We have some really fun adventured planned, but I will leave those for the next post (I am being optimistic that I will get back on and post!)
Ok, so that wasn't exactly a quick update, but it was an update. :)

Long time.....
Its been a long time, so I thought I would post an update on things. Aiden, Noah and Jinelle have started playing baseball. This is their first year in baseball....first time doing any other real sport besides soccer really. We are a very big Soccer Family, but the triplets asked Noah to play with them and then Aiden and JBelle wanted to play as well, so now we have all them in SVLLL playing. JBelle is on the Burlington Bees T-ball team. Noah is on the Volcanoes Farm/Minor B team (Our league doens't have enough for both Farm and Minor B, so they combine them) with the triplets (So we make up almost half the team) and Aiden is on the Cardinals Minor Team. They have all played two games and love it so far. It keeps me quite busy, but that's ok! Ari is starting volleyball this week. She didn't want to do baseball and asked to try volleyball, so we let her. She will b eon the 9-10 year old girls Patriots team with her friend Danielle (which means easier fo rmommy cuz now we have a carpooling buddy!). Jason and I are dong great. He is working hard as always and has recently started playing Men's softball with Park and Rec. His and Manny's team (they got the guys together) is called Black Ops. It is fun to go watch, but some games are so late. I have successfully made it through tax season so far. Only a few more days left, but I doubled my last years returns plus some already. I am proud of myself and all the hours I have put in. I enjoy doing taxes and I love the hours. I love working for my dad and making my own hous and when I do have to bring kids, I can! Well, Now its time to get back to work. My goal is to update this more often.....but no promises!

Proud moment
Well, I guess I am finally allowed to say. Well, technically, on Tuesday I can say, but since I got the paper in the mail, I will post anyways!
Early in the summer, I got a call from our wonderful Attendance Lady, Janice, and she said Mr. Sheffield, our principal, just got the kids test results and that I needed to come down to see them. (They know I stress about it and always want to know right away and find it funny that I stress when I know my kids will do good!) Well, I said, I need to take a shower and I'll come by in a little. She insisted I come RIGHT NOW but I said, I will shower and be over....I was outside weeding when they called! So I got showered and dressed and got the kids in the car and drove over to the school. Manny came with cuz we were going to Costco right after. We walk in and they hand my three sheets of paper. Noah was on top and his sheet said 600 math, 600 Language Arts, I was a little shocked. Then I turned to Aris....600 Math, 600 Language Arts. I asked if it was a joke! Then I looked at Aiden's, Advanced in all areas! The Principal said he was so proud of all my kids. Aiden scored the highest in all of fifth grade and Ari and Noah had perfect scores! This is such a huge deal because the test is designed to not be able to score a perfect score. (Last year, only one kid in our entire district of 17,421 kids got a perfect score on BOTH tests....Ari missed ONE question in Language Arts last year!) I also found out that my two children are the only two in the school this year, and will know on Tuesday if they are the only ones in the district for sure. As of now, we believe they may be!
We are so proud of all three kids! The tests were long and hard....two weeks of testing every day for a few hours a day plus a week of pre-testing where they run the class like they are testing them. They all tried their hardest and it paid off!
Ari and Noah will also be in the local newspaper because of their perfect scores. A reporter is supposed to interview them later in the week (after the tests are public) and will write an article on them! I think I will have to get a million copies to keep forever! When the article is written, I will try to post a link and maybe a copy of the article!
Ari and Noah are most excited about the money they will be receiving. We (Jason and I) do not reward the kids for grades or testing scores or anything like that because we expect the kids to do their best without being paid for it. But, at a pre-testing assembly, their principal, Mr. Sheffield, told the entire school, any child who gets a perfect score on both tests, he will buythem an iPod. And if they have an iPod already, he will give them $100! So, being kids, they are already planning on how they will spend their money. Ari wants to go to Claire's and Justice to go shopping, and Noah, well he is a boy.....he wants a Hamster!

busy busy busy
Well, its that annual time of year for mom to stress out. Yup, its teacher picking time for the next school year. I stress every year since we had one bad year with an unnamed teacher who wasn't up to handling a gifted child like mine, but thats a whole other story. So, two of four kids have their teachers set in stone and I am happy. One is partially set, and one is still up in the air. I hopefully will know soon. Luckily, I have THE BEST principal and he will keep me updated as teachers move around and I will know soon.
Besides that, we have a busy few weeks. Ari and Jason are scheduled for surgery exactly a week apart, which means two of them on crutches for an unknown amount of time (at least 4 to 6 weeks for Jason and probably 1 to 2 weeks for Ari). I am going to be SO tired by the time I get done taking care of them. Plus, on top of that, we have Ari's birthday and party we are trying to get planned and pull off before the surgeries! So, I should be busy. Lots to do, so I must go!
