Sydney turned 5 yesterday....and
BOY were we excited. She started off her special day with a special cereal that she got to pick out, then it was off to school in a
LONG sundress, she was the star for the day, especially when she busted out her birthday cupcakes and watermelon for snack (the kideroos didn't know there was yellow squash and beets in the cupcakes...but they gobbled them all up). Her good friend Eva took her to the park to play for a while so that Mom could go set up the princess tea party and Dad could get dinner group dinners ready to deliver (thanks Maria!). Then it was off to Grandmama's and Grandpapa's to get our party on...following the Princesses orders we served tea sandwiches, pink lemonade tea, there were flowers and candles on the table, and 1 cupcake with 5 candles in it.
Grandma (aka super Mom) helped me sew a new dress up dress in time for Sydney's party (read we started the night before). It was purple and just happened to match the dress Rapunzel wore in the new movie obsession in our house Tangled. Sydney showed up dressed up in her Christmas dress since it is glittery and I don't let her wear it for dress up. She happily changed into the new dress when she saw how GLITTERY it was. We are fans of the glitter here, good thing grandma has suede couches so that she can always remember us.

Pretty excited about the glitter. She would run her hands on the skirt and get glitter on them and then rub it on other stuff, our clothes, her sister's hair, and face, and everywhere else on her body as I discovered today during every diaper change.
She's getting pretty professional when a camera comes out. Wonder why?
Present were a hit. I was amazed that she waited ALL day long to open them. We didn't finish dinner until 6, she was a very patient princess. She is also very sweet and appreciative. When she would read who the present was from she would run over and say thank you with a big hug even before she had opened it.
(notice how her dress matches the tangled dolls dress? who's pretty awesome? me.)
This is one of my favorite pictures of the night. Rylee just looks like she's waiting for a chance to swoop in and cause some havoc. That tongue is trouble.
