The Student Defence Hackathon 2025 will take place between the 17th and 19th of October in the House of Nature of the University of Latvia. The hackathon aims to foster a safe learning environment for students and young adults.

Develop solutions that improve the movement of defence equipment, supplies, and personnel in complex environments. -
Communication & Radio Technologies
Create secure and resilient communication systems resistant to interference and interception. -
Energy for Defence
Design portable, autonomous energy platforms to ensure continuous operation of systems in extreme conditions.
Requirements
The closing ceremony starts on the 19th of October at 13:00 GMT+3.
All teams please make sure you submit your project descriptions here in Devpost. All teams will have to present a 5-minute pitch of their idea in person, after which the jury will have a chance to ask questions for 2-minutes.
In order to submit your descriptions please make sure you:
Fill in the project submission form by 13:00 GMT+3 19th of October here in Devpost.
The form will ask about:
- The title of the project;
- What problem are you solving with this idea?
- Description of the idea and solution;
- What was accomplished during the hackathon;
- Team description;
- Next steps for developing the idea;
- Additional materials or links (if applicable).
Prepare a 5-minute pitch in to present to judges in person. The presentation will be your chance to show what you can build. You will be able to use your own laptop for the presentation part or send a presentation file to the organizers. If you wish to send your presentation to the organizers you will need to do so by 13:45 and send it in a .pptx or .pdf format.

How original and innovative is the solution proposed by the team? Does the solution offer a new perspective or approach to solving the problem? Are there similar products, and how significantly does the proposed solution differ from them? -
TEAM PROGRESS (0-10)
How far has the team gotten during the hackathon (prototype, MVP, conceptual model)? Have the team members challenged themselves during the hackathon? -
IMPACT AND IMPLEMENTATION POTENTIAL (0-10)
How ready is the solution for implementation? How viable and scalable is the result outside the hackathon? How much added value does the solution bring to the target audience and industry? -
PRESENTATION QUALITY AND COMMUNICATION (0-10)
Did the team present the solution and implementation path clearly and convincingly? Was the team able to answer the jury's questions convincingly? Was the presentation prepared by the team of high quality?
