The basics of the bun
So I've had a few of you ask me how exactly you do a simple bun. Once you know how, they are the greatest, because you can do a ton of different styles with them, and they always look nice. So here you go, I hope this helps.
Pull hair into a ponytail. On the last loop do not pull all the way through.
It should look like this.
For this style, I just sectioned Dalaney's hair into 4 different sections and did buns in each.
The next step is to seperate the bun. I usually spray it with hairspray first, and then pull it apart.
You can seperate and spread out the bun as much as you want for the style you are going for. I usually curl the hair that is left out, so that it will lay nicely over the bun.
You can do so much with buns, so I hope this helps.

Hair made simple #6
Ok, I said simple, right!? You probably have all seen this hair do. It is definately an oldy, but a goody! I don't even know what to call it, so here it is.
First you part the hair into two sections. On each side, you part off the front section, and elastic into a ponytail. Then you take the next section back. It usually ends up in a triangle shape. Elastic into a ponytail. Do that on both sides. Pull all the hair together in the back into a ponytail. I usually end with a bun, but you could do a ponytail, braid, pigtails, etc. Have fun!

Hair cuts and color
I am going to try to take pictures of some of my clients with their cute hair do's, and post them, so you all can have some fun ideas for a new do.(;
I can't take full credit for Leila's hair. Leila has been my client for a LONG time. Isn't she so cute! Anyway, when I had my baby, she went to my friend, Erin to get her hair done. Leila has always had hair down to her butt (just about). Erin cut it short for her and it looked so cute. She loved it, so she wanted me to do the same cut. We also dyed it to her natural color. I loved the end result.
Amy is my "funky" client. She always wants something fun done with her hair (she's liberating herself) -inside joke. Anyway, we colored underneath her hair, and then colored just a small section of her bangs to tie in the color. She looked awesome!

Hair Made Simple #5
My friend Jamie e-mailed me these cute hair ideas. Thanks Jamie! If any of you do something cute to your daughters hair, feel free to e-mail them to me and I will post them. The more ideas the better.(:

Hair Made Simple #4 - Alien Knots
Alien knots are fun to do on your girls hair, because they make the hair SO curly! I'm also really big on anything that you can do at night, sleep with it in, and then take it out in the morning. Super easy!
You pretty much are going to separate wet hair into sections. I take one section and twist the hair until it twists into a small knot. Secure it with an elastic. Then I make another section and so on.
In the end it will look like this. Take smaller sections for tighter curls, and bigger sections for looser curls. Have your daughter sleep with these in. (Be prepared for a lot of complaining! I don't think they are very comfy to sleep in).
Take the knots out in the morning and either leave down, or pull back. Easy and super cute!

Hair tip #2
If your hair is anything like mine, it is a little dry after a summer filled with sunshine and swimming. Fall is a good time to get your hair back into shape. Of course a good cut always helps, but there are some other things you can do to help your hair get it's life and shine back. Two of my favorite products are deep conditioners and leave-in conditioners. I have used a ton of these over the years (yes, I am a total product freak...just ask my husband), and these two products are some of the best that I have found. Of course, I sell them both in my salon, so if you want to give them a try, just let me know.(:
Redkin has a GREAT deep conditioner. It's called "Heavy Cream." The first time I got this conditioner, was at a "favorite things" party. Everyone brought something that they totally loved and we played a white elephant type game to end up with someones "favorite thing." Of course it was funny that I ended up with hair product (thanks Aneisa), but I totally fell in love with it. O.K., total honesty moment...before I went to Cosmetology school, I had no idea how to deep condition my hair, or how to use a leave-in conditioner. So for all of you out there that are clueless, like I was, I will explain. To use a deep conditioner, you want to shampoo and condition your hair in the shower or tub. Towel dry your hair, and apply the deep conditioner. You can leave it on anywhere from 5 minutes to overnight. I usually put it on at night, and sleep with it in. It instantly makes your hair feel more smooth and manageable.
My favorite leave-in conditioner is called "It's a 10 - miracle leave-in product." The ends of my hair have been a little frizzy lately, so I asked the girl at the hair product store what was a good leave-in. She gave me "it's a 10" and I totally love it. The first time I used it, I noticed a huge change in how shiny my hair was. Leave-In's are great for your hair, because they help condition your hair, and they protect your hair from heat tools. To use a leave-in, you shampoo and condition as you normally would. Towel dry your hair and then apply to hair. Style as normal.(:
