Tis the season..........

Those of you who know me know what a Christmas nut I am. I love Christmas! When I was little I would start listening to Feliz Navidad in July. I love the snow (and so bugged that it hasn't yet) and cold weather. I start listening to Christmas music in October and I am the neighbor that has their Christmas up a week after Halloween. I am huge on traditions at Christmas, it drives Nate crazy but he realizes that is who I am and to just deal with it.
Now, there is one thing that I do not like about this time of year - sickness! Before kids, it was a bummer but you dealt with it and waited for it to pass. But now, when the kids get sick, your life is put on hold for a few days if not a week. When Nate got back from New York he brought home a fun cold to our house. So of course the first person to pick it up was Talan, great!! He had a cough for a couple days but nothin too bad. Then on Saturday his breathing started to get weird and raspy. I called my pediatrician and told him I was worried about RSV and he said that he was probably just congested and that he hadn't seen any RSV yet. Then Sunday, the breathing got worse and we called Nate's dad to have him listen to it over the phone. He agreed that it was not normal and said we should take him to the hospital. After waiting hours in the ER and getting chest x rays, the ER doctor told us that it was probably asthma. The next morning I called the pediatrician again and he said to bring him in and have him checked. We waited all day for the appt and at six last night he was finally checked. So what does he have...........RSV! Are ya freakin kidding me? So now we are having to give him breathing treatments every four hours with a nebulizer at home. The doctor said that it should start getting better but if his breathing gets any worse he is going to have to be admitted into the hospital.
Image
Our poor little guy, it is the saddest thing to watch him breathe. It sounds and looks awful! I hate watching my children suffer and not be able to do anything.

On a lighter note, I had to post this picture. We hung up our Christmas lights a few weeks ago and this moment was too white trash to miss!
Image
He had to put the latter on the tailgate of his truck to reach the highest point. It was hilarious!

I hope you all have a good Thanksgiving and to all you Black Friday shoppers, go get em!!

LOVED IT!!!

Image

I went into it with too high of expectations but overall it was great! However, if I hadn't read the books I don't know how it would have been for me. I loved the characters and I wasn't a fan of the Edward they had picked before I saw the movie but I am now! Loved it, can't wait for the next one.

Also, I want to read Twilight again!

New York

So Nate has been in New York for the last week and a half. He is coming home on Thursday (hallelujah!!) but he emailed us some pics last night for Dax to look at. I am so jealous that he is there, that is the only place that I am dying to go, but there was no way to make it work with the boys so some other time. I am so excited for him to get home! The first week wasn't bad but the last couple of days have been wearing on me. Plus I miss him!! (Being the other parent isn't the only thing he is good for.) He is going to hate that I put these pics on here (he hates pics of himself) but one of us was in New York so I am posting the pics.

Central Park (This one he sent just to show me the fall colors. So jealous!)
Image
Museum of Natural History, posing with Shannon, his co-worker. So cute guys!! (When he first told me who he was going out with and I heard the name Shannon, I was a little startled. He had some fun with that for a while!!)

Empire State Building
Image
Madison Square Garden! They got to watch the Jazz play the Knicks which he was so excited about. I would have gone and seen a Giants or Jets game since we don't ever have the chance but he is die hard basketball so whatever.
Image
His brother Mike lives three hours away from where Nate is staying so he gets to go to dinner with him and his family tonight which is fun because we never to get to see them. Daxton is so excited for Nate to get home and sadly I think Talan has forgotten him so it's time! I don't sleep good when he's gone so it will be nice to get back on a normal sleep schedule. On a positive note, the cooking has come to a stop and the laundry has been very minimal!

You can make fun but I love this movie.........

Image

I took the boys to see High School Musical 3 today! Well actually, Dax and I watched the movie and Talan slept. This is the second time we've seen it and it was even better this time around! This is the best one by far and the soundtrack is so good. If you haven't seen it yet, you should - it's really good!!

Hubby Tag From Krusti (and no I didn't spell that wrong)!

Finally doing a tag, it's a miracle! Mostly because Nate is gone and I'm oh so bored!

Image

Where we met: His family moved to Brigham City our eighth grade year and I actually couldn't stand him. He was so cocky!! Then, the summer before tenth grade, he asked me to dance at a church dance (I can't remember what those were called, if someone knows please tell me. It's driven me crazy!) and that's where it all started. He was my best friend in high school and we did go on a few dates but were never boyfriend and girlfriend!

How long we dated before we got hitched: We started dating right after his mission, got engaged six months later and were married six months after that. So basically one year!

How long have we been married: This is a tricky question, but from the original date it's six years & five months!

What's my favorite feature about him: I always say his personality because he is freakin hilarious and that's always been a biggie for me but physically it's his butt! He has the cutest butt!

What's his nickname for me: In high school it was Bianca but now it's just Aub or babe!

His favorite color: I am going to have to say red because every car he likes/wants, it's always red!

His favorite food: Anything and everything! It's amazing how much he can eat, he has the best metabolism. His all time favorite is shrimp curry!

His favorite sport: He loves football but his favorite to watch & play - hands down - basketball!

Who said the L word first: He said it all the time in high school but I think I might have been the first one after his mission, not positive. How sad is that! That's why you should write these things down!

First kiss, when and where: Senior year, deserted road! Things were never the same again!

Favorite couple thing to do: Date night, vacations, and sleeping out on the air mattress in the family room. Sounds goofy I know but it started back in the newlywed days!

How many kids: Two boys, obviously you know that!

His hidden talent: He seriously is good at everything he does, kind of annoying sometimes. But really I would have to say music. He is amazing on the piano, has a great singing voice, great with the guitar and he even plays the trumpet - why I have no idea!

His age: 28

His favorite music: Counting Crows, R.E.M, Ben Folds Five, Blessed Union of Souls, Simple Plan, Secondhand Serenade, Yellowcard, Plain White T's - basically that kind of stuff.

What I admire most about him: His ambition! He never wants to stand still, always wants to keep moving. He knows what he wants for his life and he goes for it!

His favorite pastimes: Motorcycles, his laptop, watching sports, working on the basement, going to Costco - we both love that!

Will he read this: Maybe, if so - we miss you!!

I AM TAGGING: Whoever wants to! It's kinda fun!!

Grandma, Pumpkin Walk, Halloween, Frightmares.....

Man, I have a lot of catching up to do! Life has been CRAZY around our house. I have lots of pictures to post so bear with me.

A few weeks ago we went up to Pocatello to visit my Grandma (Grammy Mel) and Aunt Connie. My Grandma has been a little under the weather lately and hasn't been able to come down and see Talan so my Mom and I took the boys up to see her. It was such a fun day!! My Grandma cried when she saw Talan, it was such a special moment and I'm so glad we went.

The boys with Aunt Connie!

Last week we went up to Logan with our friend Mike Young to the pumpkin walk. I love Cache Valley so any night spent up there is a fun one. If you haven't seen this, you should. People do amazing displays with pumpkins and Daxton loved it.

Kinda creepy right?

Our little Yoda!
Image
Noah's Ark! This display was amazing. Every animal was made from pumpkins and there was two of each animal.

Not sure what's goin on with my hair!

So of course, we have the trick or treating pics! Dax was a pirate and Talan was a puppy. We took them up to Brigham to trick or treat to the grandparents and also around Nate's old neighborhood. We thought this was going to be such a fun year with Dax but not so much. I realized we let him have way too much candy on a daily basis, after four houses he was done and wanted to go home. Crazy!!!

Look at my cute boys!

I love this picture!

Image
Nate's Mom dresses up as a witch every year for the trick or treaters, she gets so into character, it's great! We didn't tell Dax about it and let him go up to ring the door bell. When the door opened he looked back at us like we had got the wrong house! In this picture he was turning to run down the stairs away from her. It was hilarious!!
Image

Image

So the last set of pics are from Lagoon Frightmares! We went yesterday and had a ball. I love Lagoon in general but it is ten times better during Frightmares.

Image
Most kids would be afraid of this, not Dax! He was asking for them this morning!

Image
Nate - isn't this creepy?
Image
He was like this the whole time we were there (except for when he was sleeping). He seriously is such a good baby!

So there, now I'm caught up! I can't believe October is over, time is going way too fast. I hope you all had a good Halloween!!!

Frontrunner

We have wanted to take Dax on the frontrunner for a while now so last night we finally did. What a fun night!! For those of you that don't know what the frontrunner is, it's the new commuter train here in Utah that goes from North Ogden to Salt Lake. (Eventually it will go from Brigham to Provo). So, it was $16.50 for our whole family and that included the Trax (train that runs around Salt Lake) and buses once we got to Salt Lake. We went to the Gateway for some dinner, played some games at Skybox and topped off the night with a cookie from Ben's Cookies.

TONSILS

Holy moly, am I glad that's over!! It was awful - not the surgery, the recovery. Daxton went in to have his tonsils and adenoids removed last Wednesday. I thought I was going to bawl my head off when they took him away from us but the way they did it was so quick and easy. Also, Nate had given him a really neat blessing the night before and I know that helped all of us. The surgery went really well, only twenty minutes. The doctor came out to talk to us as soon as he was finished and said his tonsils and adenoids were HUGE and that is was a very good thing that they were out. They let us go back as soon as he was waking up and that's when I got sad. He was so scared and confused, it broke my heart. It took a while to calm him down but once he did he was fine. He walked right out of the hospital like nothing had happened and at this point I was thinking it was going to be a walk in the park. Man was I wrong! We stopped to fill his prescription on the way home and stupid Walmart took forty five minutes to fill it. Then he threw up in my mom's car, poor kid!
The first day really wasn't too bad, mostly a lot of laying around. The second day started getting worse with a lot less eating and drinking and a lot more crying! Third day, was from hell!!! He was hysterical most of the day and there was nothing I could do to console him. He was in so much pain, he wouldn't swallow his spit! So now were are to day six and today was actually pretty good. Hopefully it will just get better from here.
It's so hard to watch your kids go through something like this and not be able to fix it. Anyway, so happy we're to the end of it and here are some pics from his big day!

Waiting for things to get movin!
Image
He was feeling pretty cool at this point. Poor little guy, he wouldn't be smiling if he knew how he was going to be feeling in a half hour!
Image
This was in recovery. And pretty much how he has felt until today!

New Stuff

Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks! Nothing too exciting but fun to share!

We went up the cabin with our friends the Kendalls and this is the only picture I took the entire time, I'm lame! It was way fun though and Daxton got to play with Kinley who he loves.
Image
PEACH DAYS!! Most of you know how much I love Peach Days and this year was just as good as the rest. Here is Dax with his cousins watchin the parade.
Image

Image
Yesterday we went to the Weber State, Dixie game to watch Dan (Nates brother). This was Talans cute little outfit for the night. Boys really are fun to dress up!
Image
Oh my heavens, need I say more!
Image
Seriously, are these not the cutest things ever? My mom bought these for him and they are too cute!!
Image
Daxton & Uncle Dan after the game.
Image

Image
This pic is so funny, I had to post it! He was over football at this point.
Image
This was today before church. I love that I get to dress them the same sometimes.
Image

So that's it, nothing too exciting. Talan had his appointment this week and he is in the 95th percentile for height, the 85th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for head size so yeah, he's a chubs.
Daxton is getting his tonsils out on Wednesday and I am not looking forward to it. He's got really big tonsils and is always getting sick so his doctor wants them out, and his adenoids. So that will be a yucky day but I will post all about it.
