Timeless Pop-Rock, 60’s flavour
BeaVoys is an indie band with a 60’s pop-rock feel, releasing original songs that span genres such as merseybeat, folk rock, baroque pop, motown, country rock, cosmic americana, psychedelic rock and California sound. Building on the foundation of rooted classic rock, BeaVoys showcases a present alternative approach, thanks to the musical direction and lyrics of Alan James, indie musician who uses current technologies to create the different aspects of this kind of “one-man band’s” digital music.
In BeaVoys’ songs, since the single Compatibility / Skilled Sheep Farmer (September 2025), frequently the organic and analogical sounds from Alan James’ vocal harmonies, electric guitars and percussions, are combined with the digital thing and new technologies with which he, through a personal and -in fact- artisanal process, generates a basic instrumental track to bring his written lyrics to life.
Alan James is, in a broader sense, a multidisciplinary artist who combines words with audiovisuals. Composer, lyricist, guitarist, bassist, producer, mixer, masterer of his songs, being also creator of the videos for those, as well as designer of the covers for his albums. Previous projects of him are Joyalai (2023-2024) and Beev Rations (2016-2023), while Alvamar and Chortles came almost together with BeaVoys.
As said, BeaVoys displays a wide and rootsy sound spectrum, oozing on pop-rock from the sixties, yet sounding nevertheless very fresh and distinctive thanks to the compositional direction and lyrics of Alan James (creator of this musical project), as well as the use of current technologies, according to a classic (timeless) as well as alternative and present approach.

However versatile and with a blending nature regarding genres, BeaVoys’ music has always a distinctive trademark revolving merseysound, R&B and folk/country rock within a sound environment mostly luminous and warmth at every tempo, mood or tone; all frequently seasoned with a psy touch and 2/3 part vocal harmonies singing juicy lyrics, wether they might be deep, sharp, playful, metaphysical or -often- a mix of all of it.
Alan, considering all labels as mere conventionally accepted figuration, nevertheless describes his own unique musical style in BeaVoys as simply amarant, playing with his spanish natal surname (Amarante) and also with the ancient greek meaning of the amarant flower: unperishable, timeless, always beautiful.
