The Lost

So we stop by Wal-Mart the other day and as Justin, Peyton and I are browsing through the electronic department.  Justin walked away from me and I saw Peyton walk with him, next thing I know he is asking me where Peyton was, my reply was I thought she was with him.  So we start looking up and down the isles and calling her name... our friends Rick and Murranda were with us and they started looking for her too to no avail.  I talked to one of the associates, and we decided he would call in a "Code Adam"... my heart sank.  Where could she have gone.  Just as he was placing the call over the load intercom I hear "SherryLynn, please come to Customer Service to meet your daughter".  I almost started crying cuz I just knew that someone had found her.  I took of running, well needless to say Chance beet me to the customer Service desk and scooped up Peyton who just fell into his arms...  when I reached them I told the associate who had found her Thank you soo much! ... I took Peyton from Chance and just hugged her and told her she was safe.  I also explained to her the importance of staying next to me or daddy... I've never been so scared in my life... I was helpless and scared all at the same time.  I'm so glad she is safe and sound.  I don't think she will be wondering off anytime soon.

Peyton learns to ride on two wheels...

It took all of about 10 min for Peyton to get the hang of riding a 2 wheeler with out training wheels... I was a very proud mamma!

Where to start!

Ok... So I thought I would give an update since it has been over a year!  OMGosh has it really been that long since I blogged!  Wow.  So since the last time I blogged so many things have taken place.  In November 2010 Justin made the decision to go into business for himself (with my help of course).  We purchased (or are in the process of purchasing) a Snap On Franchise.  This was a huge leap of faith but one that was worth taking.  There was quite a number of things that had to happen before we were "offered" the route.  Justin had to take 3 ride a longs with existing franchisees to see how the business worked... then we had to meet with the regional manager and confirm we were still interested in the route, then the application process was quite a lengthy process... We had to show we were financially stable and mentally sound... hehe... But in the end they made the offer and we took it.  Justin and I flew to Portland to sign papers... and then spend the rest of the day touring Portland.... not one of my favorite places to visit but it was worth the trip.  The truck showed up on Nov 8th and Justin started selling product on the 20th of November.  Since then he has become a different person (for the good I might add).  He has stepped out of his comfort zone and become quite the salesman.  His Route includes the SLC international air port, General aviation and other shops throughout Murry and SLC.  He loves his job and the kids love to help... when Stock orders come they dig in and help him put the inventory on the truck and label it. It has defiantly become a family business... I pay the bills and Justin sells the product... the kids pack the boxes... we love what we do!
Here is a pic of the truck sitting at a hotel in Layton... waiting to be delivered to our house the next day...

Here is the truck Personalized... with the help of our dear sweet friend Nichole... She made the vinyl letters to go on the truck...  Part of me felt bad for our neighbors but it is totally worth having this in our drive way.

In December we found out that life can change in the blink of an eye.  My brother and his wife received a phone call that they were going to be parents... They had started the adoption process through LDS family services, and with in a week of being approved they had a baby waiting for them in Pocatello.  JD was born on Dec 16th and came home with Dallas and Jaci on the 17th.  His adoption was finalized in Jan and was sealed to them in the Temple on Jan 15th.  He truly was a miracle sent from our Heavenly Father....  he is now 6 months hold and is the most adorable baby,  Congrats Dallas and Jaci... we love you!

Here is a pic of the cute family as they came out of the Logan Temple... :)

Peyton decided she wanted to take Dance... so I signed her up at Rythmn Works Dance Studio in Syracuse.  She had her first dance recital ever on June 14th and did such an a amazing job.  I couldn't be more proud of my little dancer.  Since then Kelcee had decided that she wants to take Dance at the same studio so I signed her up (with the permission of her mother)... They both start in Sept.

Here she is all dressed up and ready to shine!  I love you Peyton!

Life is always full of ups and downs and we have managed to take the good with the bad.  Chance is now a Teacher in the Aronic Priesthood and has just returned from his first Trek trip.  He left on Thursday the 16th of June and returned home on the 18th of June.  He had an amazing time and wants to go again... Pictures to come... after I have the disposable camera he took with him developed.  I was so proud of him and his decision to go.

Kelcee has been involved with Ball Room Dancing at her Elementary School in Kaysville.  She had a few competitions through out the year and at one Creekside Elementary won the Spirit Award.  It was quite exciting to see her dance... she really is good at it too.    I look forward to watching her dance both Ball Room and at Rythmn Works this year!

On June 18th Justin and I celebrated our 7th year Anniversary!  Has it really been 7 years??  How time flies when you are having fun!  I am so grateful to have Justin in my life... He has completed my family and now I have him for eternity! He truly is my best friend and I love him more and more every day!

I am hoping I can keep up on this Blog thing from now on!  I'll do my best!

Out of the Darkness

On Saturday the 25th of Sept, my family joined friends and family of Mike King in a 5k walk for suicide awareness.  Mike was an amazing person who was always looking to make everyone around him smile and laugh.  We miss him and always think of him.  Mike's favorite color was Orange, his mom and sister organized the team and made sure everyone who participated in Memory of Mike had a tee shirt.  The front of the shirt said  ADIEUX (which is french for Goodbye) and on the back was a set of Angel Wings and Mike's intials which was drawn by his brother in law Casey.

60 plus supporters of Mike included family and close friends of Mike.

Chance, Kelcee and Peyton participated in the walk too... Peyton rode in the wagon most of the way but she did walk some of it too...

Peyton decided she wanted to walk for a short spell.. Chance was such a great big brother... he pulled the wagon for her.

Here is the back of the shirts, Kelcee loved Mike and misses him still.

Justin has Monday's off so he keeps her home with him and took her on her first day...  She dressed herself and even combed her own hair.  She got a new back pack for her birthday.

First Day

Image

Chance and his first day as an 8th Grader... Man has time flown by.... I remember the day I brought him home from the hospital.  He was only 6 lbs and 21" long... now he is taller than me and almost weighs as much as I do... He is such a good kid and is going to be getting his brown belt in Karate in the next 2 weeks.  Love you Chance!  You sure know how to make a mama proud!

Labor Day Camp

This year for Labor Day Weekend we spent it in Bear Lake with my family and our good friends The Blacks.  We left Layton on Friday morning and got to camp around 1:00 pm.  We got set up and had dinner and a fire where the marshmellows were roasted and just visited with each other.
Image
Here is Jaci, Sidney, Trevor and Darren... We were just hanging out by the fire Friday night.  We had a great time just enjoying everyone's company.
Image
Here is Rick and Justin talking about who knows what.. they just kept yelling at me cuz the flash was so bright... lol
Image
Here is Allen, Alexx, Sylvie (under the covers) and Dally their doggy... Allen said the flash was so bright he had to close his eyes... Oops sorry bout that guys!
Image

Saturday we headed to the lake to play... Here is Sylvie playing in the sand..

Here is Curtis and Sidney playing in the water.

Me hanging out in the shade... didn't want to get burned, Oh and the hat I'm wearing is from my friend Mary Beth... who gave it to me so I could take her every where with me... lol!

Murranda, Rick and Justin hanging out watching the kids play!

Peyton playing in the Water... the water was a little chilly that day but it didn't seem to bother the kids much.

Here is Jordan, Peyton, Sid, Morgan and Makayla... just hanging out in the water...

Sunday we took the kids up to Minnetonka Cave,  Curtis and Kenzie, and The Blacks came with us.

Jordan, Rick, Makayla, and Murranda Black

Image

Curtis and Kenzie.... One thing you should know is that in the cave there are 444 stairs each way for a total count of 888... Kenzie is 5 years old and walked the entire time... she climbed all 888 stairs with out complaining once!  She was also one of the first to spot a Bat flying around... girl has some skills!
Image

Jordan, Chance, Peyton, Kelcee, Kenzie, Brykale, Makayla.... They all enjoyed the cave...

Image

In the cave there is one formation that is "dead" due to the people touching... the oils in your hand causes the water to run off rather than collect on the formation so this is one they let you touch just to see what it feels like... Here is Kenzie touching the formation...

Image

Here is Peyton... she needed a small lift from Uncle Curtis... Thank goodness Curtis was there to give us a full tour of the cave... our tour guide wasn't as thorough as I would have hoped.

Image

When we got back to camp, Grandpa and Trevor had just returned from a short horse ride and now were letting everyone take a small ride... Here is Makayla and Moody, Kelcee and Compte and Grandpa leading the way.  I don't think the girls smiles could get any bigger..

Image

Here is me, Peyton and Moody.. Chance and Compte are behind us.  Peyton was "driving"  she wouldn't let me touch the reins cuz she wanted to drive.  She loves riding horses as much as I do!

Image

Justin even took a turn... He is riding Compte while Peyton and I are riding Moody... notice who is "driving" again... yes she wouldn't let me touch the reins at all!

Image

This picture broke my heart... here is Kelcee and Makayla saying their goodbyes to Keno... We miss you Keno!
Image

Here is Peyton, Chance and Kelcee... One last hug before we had to leave him behind... We loved our Keno and will forever miss him.

Chance... one last Hug!

Kelcee... one final hug!

Me and my Keno... he was my very first dog I could call my own.  Miss him!

When we got home we found this in our drive way... Someone had shrink wrapped our Piece of Crap car... If you ask me the shrink wrapped added value to it. Later we found out the culprits... Thanks Brynlee and Teighlor for our wonderful present.

We had a wonderful time with all who were there with us that weekend.  Rick fit right in with the boys in the family as he is always picking on me but... it was all fun!  I cannot wait to go again.
