I love this first little series of photos here! Truman found an Oreo in our family room (!) and was pleased as punch! (I found out later that Hewitt had thrown it over to Tosh and it was never picked up or something...lovely). Anyway, Truman couldn't be cuter or more excited:
Burke, Hewitt, and Tosh had their spring piano recital on May 15th. They all did a great job.
Liv's class learned about the different states and did a little program for parents. Liv was assigned "Florida" for her presentation. It was so fun to hear her sing the state song, "Alabama, Alaska, Arizona...." around the house. I learned the same song in elementary school and still remember it and sing it with the kids.
Liv with her teacher, Mrs. Giannetta:
Liv went out for a little treat after the class presentation with two of her friends and Maddie's mom (Mary) sent me a photo:
Liv had her "friend" birthday party on May 19th. We did two crafts: made pom-poms and slime, had dinner (pizza, fruit, and veggies), swam, and then had cupcakes and ice creams floats for dessert.
It was pretty hectic and I was really busy helping with the crafts so I only took these two photos the entire night! Making slime:
One of the moms (my neighbor, Venetta) stayed with her son which was a really big help. The girls had a fun time and loved both of the crafts.
Liv got two Lego Friends sets for her birthday and got a little help building them from some cute Lego experts:
Singing Stars had our spring show on May 22nd! I rented a room at the Tumbleweed Rec Center--it was the perfect size. The girls did five songs and each girl had a solo. My main goals were that the girls would have fun, and that the parents would be pleased. I think both goals were met, and I believe all ten girls plan to return in the fall (with more interested).
The set list in order:
Can't Stop the Feeling
Dancing Cheek to Cheek
Rock Around the Clock
What a Wonderful World
Better When I'm Dancing.

Posing for a photo at the end of the show:
Back row: Sweet Pea, Liv, (Me), Gianna, Amy, Jewels
Front row: Bella, Hailey, Clara, Mollie
I had to rent the room for two hours, so we took our time clearing out after the show... we ended up having a little family dance party. Sue took some fun videos and sent this one:
A not-so-successful group shot... Patti flew back to Utah the next day.
Tosh tried out for the "No Sunday Football Club" with his buddies Kannon and Kelton. These three have been playing rec soccer together since Tosh was three. Tosh is a year younger than the twins and we were a bit nervous as to whether or not he would be able to make the same team as the twins and if the league would let Tosh play up. It all got worked out (the boys made the silver team) and so we are giving club soccer a try this next season. Tosh's hair had gotten quite long again so he was wearing a headband to play. When we couldn't find a headband for practice one day, Tosh started wearing a little bun:
Cute Truman sound asleep--poor fifth child gets woken up a lot to take his siblings to various things...
I got strep throat around the 24th-25th of May. I had mentioned to Rob that I had nothing on the calendar for two evenings (HA!) and sure enough, my body decided to shut down after a very busy month (luckily no one else got sick). That Thursday I was super achy and tried to stay in bed as much as I could. I put Truman down for a nap and could hear him laughing and messing around. I dragged my bones out of bed to check on him and found him like this. He laughed so hard when he saw me and said, "Hat! Hat!"
I got on antibiotics and started feeling better in time to host Tosh's birthday party on Memorial Day (5/29). We did a similar "Nerf" theme that we used for Hewitt's 10th birthday, with a few changes.
Nerf target cupcakes:
Rob agreed to run all the games which was awesome (and made for a more relaxing time for me!). I printed out a bunch of targets and Rob posted them around the yard. The boys had lots of fun:
This next shot of Tosh's team behind their barricade is my favorite... Tosh is small in this photo, but has such a cute smile:
Battle:
After the Nerf battle, the boys swam and then had floats and cupcakes:
Officially TEN on the second to last day of school (Waiting at bus stop that morning):
Truman and I picked Tosh up for lunch on his birthday. When Truman saw Tosh approaching in the school hallway, he got so excited and ran up to him. Then he looked around, held hand up and asked, "Wa Wa?" --he was looking for Hewitt. Tosh picked eating at Wendy's for lunch. The Wendy's was pretty empty except for two older couples. Truman was being so happy-loud, playing with his cars and eating. Tosh and I were laughing really hard.
Cute brothers:
Tosh requested fluffy oven pancakes with buttermilk syrup for dinner. Grandma gave Tosh this new soccer bag:
After presents, we headed out to the field for a little family football:
The sky looked so cool:
Then we went swimming to cool off! Tosh and Liv were being so cute. Great video:
I love this ten-year-old!
Hewitt is finished with 6th grade and on to JUNIOR HIGH!
Truman and I met up for breakfast on the last day of school with a few of my friends from our old ward. My friend, Keri, showed me a video that her son took of Burke racing their seminary teacher! It made me laugh so hard. I talked to Burke about it later (he doesn't say much about school), and learned that he has raced his seminary teacher about six different times during the year--ha! This teacher is young (mid-20's?) and a really nice guy. I love that he's racing in his church clothes. Burke finally beat him at the end of the year, I guess, and tells me that this clip was a false-start when the teacher said, "Ready, Go!" before Burke was ready. I love the caption that Jacob added. Too fun!
The evening of the last day of school, Liv and I attended Pack Meeting with Tosh, where he earned his Bear Award. Liv grabbed my phone and took a ton of (mostly terrible) photos, lol! Here are a couple I'll share:
Tosh doing the "Dab"... By the way, I subbed as chorister in primary on the 28th and one of the kids picked "dabbing" to do to "Do as I'm Doing!" What?!
The three boys that earned rank advancements did a "pie eating contest" with whipped cream. I'm glad I suggested moving it outside! I know Tosh well enough to anticipate that he would be putting his entire face in right away... You can get a little glimpse here of the basketball court at the branch building on the reservation:
And THAT concludes our very busy month of May!!!
