Talk time

FYI: Cam had just started saying poo poo the day I took this. I do not usually ask him to speak such words. I was teasing him earlier in the day during a poo poo change and he mocked me. He was obsessed with the word for the majority of the day.

He usually says either dog or barks like a dog when we mention it. Not sure what his deal was during this taping! When I showed him this tape he was laughing at himself and repeating quickly everything I had said....oh that boy...camera shy!

Also, he can say more words and point to his nose, eyes, ears and mouth...that video...soon!

Salsa Sunday

On Sunday we went to my Stephen and Alesia's house to make salsa! They have a garden with an abundance of tomatoes, and our great neighbor, Nate, planted a garden for the use of the apartment tenants. He is an amazing gardener and planted tons of stuff. I should have taken pictures of the tomatoes we picked from that garden. They were HUGE and beautiful. Thanks Nate!
We had so much fun and feel our first attempt at homemade salsa was a huge success! Scott will not stop eating it. Everyday he is practically drinking it like water. We have a ton, so if you are in need of a salsa fix, come over!

Image Cam sure had fun playing with his cousins. He was pooped by the time we left.

Image For those of you that know Stephen, you know this face. Thanks for straining out all the tomatoe juice!Image
Image And there you have it! Yum Yum!
Also, completely unrelated to Salsa Sunday, here is a picture of my messy boy.
ImageHe has discovered that spitting food/drinks out of his mouth is hysterical. For him at least. He gets in these moods, and nothing will stop him, where all he does is spit out his food and cracks himself up. Although I try really hard to not encourage him, it is really cute and sometimes I can't help but laugh. I usually have to sing him songs or give him something to play with during eating time so he doesn't remember how "funny" he can be.
For your viewing pleasure, and for the sake of some classic home video, I continued feeding him on this day, although I usually would have stopped him sooner.

Success

Image Thank you Fly Ribbon! Our house if fruit fly free! It is a great feeling. We had 2 of these up for a few days and caught hundreds of those pesky things! LOVE IT!
Found the source I think. I don't want to admit this, but I found EXTREMELY rotton potatoes in the pantry. Turned to liquid actually. GROSS I KNOW! I would have taken a picture but the smell was so awful we could have died.

SICK AND WRONG

Ok, please do not judge us:

Our apartment is infested with fruit flies!!!!!! It has been this way for a little over 2 weeks. OH MY GOODNESS I AM FREAKING OUT!

Image (click on the picture, you can see how many dead flies are in there. This being only 1 day on the counter.)

I have had fruit flies before, you know when your bananas are going brown? Almost ready for some banana bread? You see a couple here and there, but when you dispose of the old fruit they just disappear?
That did not happen this time.
The interesting thing is that we never had rotten fruit around. When I noticed too many of them a couple days after I purchased bananas and peaches, I immediately threw away the fresh, not brown fruit, thinking that was the end of it.
It is scary bad. They are all over the ceiling and top of cupboards in the kitchen, in the bathroom, windows in the living room, and here is where I hate the most...Cam's room. By the way, the cupboards in the kitchen they hang out at has zero food in it!
I read on the internet they live for about 10 days, but lay eggs often. It says to just clean the counters good and keep garbage covered. For those of you that know me, know that I am a Clorox wipe/germ freak. I am ALWAYS sanitizing something.
I have gone through, no joke, 2 containers of wipes since all this. I am always wiping down every surface before I lay any food down, before Cam even thinks of eating on his high chair and anytime I see those pests flying.
It also said to put apple cider vinegar in a jar, that attracts them, they go for a dip, and drown. As you can see above that works great, but some are not digging it.
Any advice? HELP!!! I just may lose it!!!

Pictures

We went to Memory Grove to take some family pictures. We had so much fun and love the shots Karina got of Cam. Check out her blog http://ko-photography.blogspot.com/ . She was fabulous and somehow got good pictures of Cam even though he was so distracted with every dog at the park. He did not want anything to do with us, he just wanted to crawl around and play. We are so glad Jon and Rach were there to sing to Cam and get him to smile and laugh.

Logan Play date

Cam and I were able to visit Kim and Campbell on Monday. We had so much fun playing, eating and see their new house. I decided I could sooo live in Logan. I loved it! I loved that there were good stores to shop at, but you were still "away". You weren't away from all civilization, and still in a small city. That's how it felt at least. That's how I feel when I go to Midway too.
Thanks Kim for having us for the day. I can't wait to see your house all done!
Image Oh...this pictures make me laugh so hard. Campbell was so excited to play with Cam. They were sitting next to each other and Campbell reached and slightly touched Cam and knocked him over! (No Kim, he did not bully him!) Cam was just a wimp. He just laid there like this for a couple minutes, got a really cute boo boo face, and cried. This happened a couple other times and it just made me laugh. Campbell was not being rough, I am not sure what Cam thought. It was so sweet though. After we got back to the house, he was fine and normal. They starting pulling hair, hitting, and stealing toys. Ahhhh BOYS!
Image Cute little Campbell. We miss him!
