Todd's Birthday and the Rest of December

We loved celebrating Todd and his birthday after Christmas! I was actually feeling kinda sick so wasn't that much fun. We spent the morning playing with all of our new toys while I headed to the store to pick up some medicine. Then Todd and the girls went sledding. Later that evening, Todd and I went out to dinner while my parents watched the kids at home. I was bad at taking pictures so we only have a few from the day!

Miley was so kind to give Todd these tongs for his birthday from our kitchen drawer.

At the beginning of the month, we went to our neighborhood park so visit with Santa.

We spent alot of time looking at Christmas lights since Todd was working at the show alot. The girls loved being able to go see them whenever we wanted. We also went to see the lights at temple square and also to Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point.

Emma played on her first basketball team and had her first few games in December.  We think that she had an ok time but she probably won't do it again next year.

Camden was happiest during the month when he was eating, especially bananas.

We were at Christmas in Color one night with my family and Miley and Emma were riding in my parent's car. Emma found a pen and decided that it would be a good idea to write Miley's name on the back of her coat.  It is funny now, but I wish I could say I thought it was funny then.

We were excited that Miley was finally cooperative enough at her eye doctor appointment to be able to get her eyeglasses prescription. Up until now most of her appointments have been a nightmare, including her kicking the doctor in the face while I was trying to hold her down two days before Camden was born. We decided to celebrate by stopping and letting her pick out some donuts. She was pretty excited!

We had a good time at the Nelson family Christmas party and birthday celebration. Emma was excited to finally have a speaking part in the pageant.

On New Years Eve we went over to my parent's house in the morning for a family run. It was so cold outside that we had ice on our eyelashes when we were done! We went out to breakfast after to eat more calories that we burned during our run.

We came home after and Todd and Katelyn took a little nap together in preparation for our tradition of ringing in the new year at Chad and Melissa's house.

December was so busy and so fun. We are excited to see what 2017 has in store for us!

Christmas Day

It was great to have Christmas on Sunday this year! We woke up in the morning and opened our gifts from each other.

After we were done opening our presents we headed downstairs to see what Santa left. It was cute to see each of the kids go see what everyone else got before they went to their own piles. They were all just so excited for each other. Santa delivered on everything they asked for.

Emma asked for a stuffed butterfly, a water baby, and a beanie boo owl.

Katelyn asked for a purple unicorn, a new doll, and a beanie boo.

Image

Miley asked for a dress-up, a doll, and red shoes. Santa actually forgot the red shoes but made up for it with a candy cane full of m&ms, lucky guy.

Image

Camden slept through all of the excitement but was very happy with all of his gifts once he woke up.

After breakfast we headed to Sacrament meeting. It was a good way to help us focus on the Savior and the real reason for Christmas.

After church, we came home and changed and then headed to my parent's house for brunch and opening gifts.

When we were done at my parent's house, we headed to dinner with Todd's family. We had a great dinner and then played a game with the kids where they had to unwrap a ball of saran wrap and hope that candy would fall out in front of them before it got passed to the next person. After the kids' game the adults played a pretty intense game of musical chairs. Not surprisingly, all of the girls got out first and the boys were left to fight it out.

It was a great day spent celebrating the birth of our Savior and being with family who we love so much!
