"Ensure your servants well being. Let not the arrogant oppress me. My eyes fail looking for your salvation, looking for your righteous promise." Psalms 119:122-123
Allow me to preface this entry but saying that blogs are wonderful because you, dedicated reader, are allowed a peak in to my life that I want you to see. The smiles, great times, cute house, new furniture- as if those items represent me. I am remorseful that humans only display our greatness- trying fervently to cover the honest.
I came across this verse this morning as I was searching for a different verse in Psalms. I'm not sure I've ever read this verse (don't we all get comfortable with the ones we can quote?) but I now know that God put this in my path today. How many times do we struggle with doing good only to allow the proud, conceited, arrogant to pull us down? David is crying out for God to restore his heart, he sees the potential of a destructive path within the interaction of humans. Just as David, I ask the Lord to keep our eyes on the salvation and promise only our God can offer.
