Honey's Helper

Image
Each Wednesday my mom (aka Honey) and my dad (aka Papoo) keep the babies. They always do fun things like go for a ride in the double stoller, stare at the goats and buy guineas. The hardest part for mom is when both babies are hungry at the same time. Savannah likes to hold her bottle, Colt still needs a little help eating. As you can tell from the picture, Savannah found a way to help Honey feed Colt!!

Bye, Bye Fay!

Image
I don't know about you guys but yesterday was completely stressful! We were suppose to host two big seminars through the chamber. Both were cancelled just in time for all of us to rush to city hall because of the tornado watch. Then, we find out a funnel cloud is over the daycare building! We all survived and slept very well last night! We sure won't miss Fay!

Family Filled Weekend!

This weekend Casey, Mom & I took the babies to Troy to meet their great-grandparents. We are very fortunate to have 3 living grandparents. They are all a little crazy (some diagnosed) but Casey, my brother and I all remember them as wonderful grandparents. We also got to spend some time with some of my aunts. These are my dad's sisters so you can imagine what they are like. Let's just say our topic of conversation during lunch was why my aunt's mule can't reproduce!!

We spent Sunday afternoon at the lake. This is probably our last time there for the summer and the weather was perfect. We ate yummy steak and celebrated my dad's 59th birthday on Sunday night. Ray made a cake and Trip helped blow out candles. Also, the babies were complete with their Life is Good t-shirts and Teva flip-flops!!

Colt & Savannah

Image

We can almost sit up!! Cousin Savannah has very good posture and is so proud of herself. It's hard to believe these two are 9 weeks apart!

Image

After our bath last night I ran to put Colt's clothes in the wash and came back to find this!
By the way, it is bad to send Colt to school with baby food for breakfast? Some mornings my time managements skills are lacking so I'm good to get to work on time!! Does Target sell travel bowls so I can pre mix the food (with cereal)? Am I on the right track here?

Righteous Promise

"Ensure your servants well being. Let not the arrogant oppress me. My eyes fail looking for your salvation, looking for your righteous promise." Psalms 119:122-123

Allow me to preface this entry but saying that blogs are wonderful because you, dedicated reader, are allowed a peak in to my life that I want you to see. The smiles, great times, cute house, new furniture- as if those items represent me. I am remorseful that humans only display our greatness- trying fervently to cover the honest.

I came across this verse this morning as I was searching for a different verse in Psalms. I'm not sure I've ever read this verse (don't we all get comfortable with the ones we can quote?) but I now know that God put this in my path today. How many times do we struggle with doing good only to allow the proud, conceited, arrogant to pull us down? David is crying out for God to restore his heart, he sees the potential of a destructive path within the interaction of humans. Just as David, I ask the Lord to keep our eyes on the salvation and promise only our God can offer.

Pool Time

Image

Colt finally got to swim this weekend! We haven't been to the pool all summer and I'm not quite ready to put him the lake. He had a great time! He splashed and kicked until he was exhausted. He also enjoyed staring a the big kids swimming around. Thanks Tinsleys for a great evening!
