Sneak Peak

Since we will all go different directions for Thanksgiving, we spent this past weekend at the lakehouse. Mom took advantage of this time to shoot their Christmas card. Luckily, that only involved the grandkids! Santa might not visit me if I show you pictures from the day, but here is a sneak peak!

Aunt G (aka Casey) was wise and brought bribes for the kiddos. This was Colts first sucker and he choose blue.

Image Dad, Savannah (aka Bug) and Colt. Notice that Savannah's face is still clean? I'm hoping Annie Grace won't be messy like her big brother!

The New Arrivals

Another Trip to the Animal Auction

Image We've had this guy for a while but he is very nosey. His life is continuously threatened by my mom as he doesn't always choose to use the yard as his bathroom. He still tries to impress his wife with his feathers.

Image I don't think this pony has a name yet. Colt loved riding the pony- as long as he could hold his Capri Sun. I'm not sure he even realized he was riding. Dad bought the pony with the promise it is pregnant. We already have a male pony so I'm pretty sure if it wasn't pregnant when it arrived, it is now.

Image This little guy is "Z". He is a Zebu (pronounced zeebu) cow. You can tell that he is about Colt's height. Zebus are miniature cows and he won't get much taller. He is so sweet and just a baby. Ray went to the auction with Dad and Bub so she helped pick out the animals.

Image This large animal is a mammoth donkey named Joe. My brother named the jackass after Joe Biden (yes, we have Obama). He is about 8 months old and not full grown. You can tell how large he is compared to Wes and Dad. His father is 6 feet tall. Dad will be taking him to Missouri to be trained to pull a wagon. We aren't sure why.

A trip to the auction involved leaving with an empty trailer and arriving with the trailer and truck full. Dad bought many, many more birds- chickens, pigeons and pheasants. They also bought a young llama for our neighbors with goats (coyotes are scared of llamas so they won't mess with livestock with llamas are present). Dad says he is out of the goat business (we only have 4 left) and is in the donkey business. I'll do an update on the donkeys. They are all precious.

The Round-Up

Sunday afternoon seemed to be a great time to move Colt into a big boy bed. About halfway through the change, I regretted this decision.
1. Wes had been sick for 6 days
2. Time changed Sunday night- except in Colt's world
3. Fun at Church + 1 hour nap = irritated 19-month old
4. I am no help moving furniture but I have a definite opinion
5. The nursery trim hasn't been painted

This is the way we felt during this family event:

Sunday night Colt did a great job falling asleep in his bed. About 11pm, we heard "thump, ahhhhh". He had pushed a rail off the bed and rolled off the side. He wasn't hurt but we put him in our bed for lack of other places for him to sleep. Several times that night I remembered why he doesn't sleep with us. Wes fixed the rails on Monday and Colt has done a great job!
