July 5, 1999 marks the tenth anniversary of the passing of Tom (Moon) Mullin, the most unforgettable, funniest, and interesting man I have ever known. He married my sister, Jolyn, and took her away to California - for which we will probably never forgive him, except that he WAS a California kid, and needed to be there, be with his dad, be a lumberman, and raise his kids as California kids, like he was. It seems like yesterday that we were golfing together in Ojai, or hanging around a pool in Hawaii, or hiking in the mountains above Alta on one of their visits to Utah, or laughing as Moon and Jiggs "sparred" with each other about everything under the sun, especially on the golf course. There never has been, and never will be, a man quite like Tom Mullin - and I will be ever grateful for his friendship, his brotherhood, his love of my little sister, his love of his children, and, of course, for introducing me to my wife. He has had a huge impact on me, among many, many others, an impact that has not been dimmed by time, and will be everlasting. I will never forget the tribute paid to him at his funeral service by those who worked with him, and worked for him, as they drove dozens of red Terry Building Center trucks in a "procession" to the funeral and to the cemetary. He was one in a million - and I am and will be forever thankful that I knew him, and that we are connected eternally. Moon...we love you, we miss you, you made us laugh, you inspired us, you strengthened us, and continue to do so. We will never forget!
