How We Met & Became One
In the summer of 2007, we were at a Stake Sunday Social Activity. I was talking to a few of my girlfriends and Tyler came up to me and asked if I would like to go on a date with him. I had no clue who he was. I thought that he must have been really nervous coming up to someone he didn’t know in front of her friends and asking her on a date. At first i didn’t know if I wanted to but one of my friends said I should and that I would have fun, so the next day we went on a date and we watched “Flushed Away” with Mikaleen and Evan at Mika’s parents house. We hung out several times after that. About a month later we decided to invite friends and go camping. The night before, half of our friends said that they couldn’t go anymore. We still went and had a blast! We went up Huntington Canyon, found a nice spot and camped. That evening it was getting cold and started to snow. For our dinner that night we were supposed to have hobo dinners. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to start a fire in the snow, but we did! It took a little longer than usual to cook our meal but eventually it was done. After eating we played some card games and talked. Some how the subject of marriage came up and Tyler asked me what I thought about us maybe getting married. I didn’t know what to say for a few seconds but then said I wouldn’t disagree. So that evening we got engaged but no ring. Yes it was quick, but don’t regret it at all. In October 2007, Tyler and I went to hang out. He took us to the fairgrounds where the swings are. He made the engagement official by proposing. It was so sweet!
We were engaged for 7 months, while Tyler finished his BS in Cedar City. While he was there, I stayed in Price. We traveled to see each other as much as we could. I would go to Cedar almost every other weekend and stay at a friends house. He would visit me in Price almost every weekend I didn’t go to Cedar. We talked on the phone every night. Tyler and I became closer and closer over those 7 months. We finally tied the knot on May 16, 2008 in the Bountiful Temple.
