Just got back from another successful doctors appointment. We got to hear the baby’s heart beat. Jacob was being very active and even the doctor commented on it. He said that my tummy is getting bigger which means Jacob is getting bigger. He said that we may want to set a date to be induced. We asked why, cause our last doctor just told us what day to come in. He said that the hospital will only let them induce one patient a day or it’s not considered an emergency. The doctor also told us that my body may even want to have a baby before my due date so if I go into labor on my own that’s good. We picked January 31, 2011. I wanted it for a weekend but he said that they wont let them induce on weekends. I reminded the doctor about having high blood pressure with Connor and that’s why I was induced last time besides him being big. He said, well in that case, if you get high blood pressure again we can induce you up to 2 weeks early. I’ll see him again in 2 weeks and then every week after that until Jacob comes.
Now I’ve really got to get my butt into gear to get things done so that I don’t have to worry about it last minute or after he comes.

I’m sorry pretty much all of my posts are about Connor. He’s the main reason I even decided to start a blog. I have decided that this is the only way I really write anything down about him and will be able to recall it. In the future I can look back at these and be able to tell him stories. But soon I’ll start posting things about Connor and Jacob.
So the past week has been fun. Connor has learned how to climb out of his crib every time he wants. He climbs out at least once a day. He is also teething. He’s getting his 2nd molers. So he’s been fussy and hard to put to sleep.
Today Connor decided it’s time to potty train. We were playing in his room when he started to take off his pants. I asked him what he was doing. He grabbed his diaper and I asked if he needed to go potty. He shook his head yes and walked to the bathroom. He took off his pants and diaper and pointed to the toilet. I sat him on it and he just sat there. Nothing happened but it was fun that he wanted to sit on it. Later, he woke up from his nap, I went in to get him and he had his pants and diaper off and had peed on the bed. We bought him a training toilet. He has already sat on it several times. with or without clothes.

On Friday we went to a family Christmas party. Before it even started Connor injured himself. He was running around and playing when he tripped over his own feet and his eyebrow smacked hard on the back of a piano. He hit right at the bottom where there’s a sharp corner. He screamed and I picked him up. At first it just looked like a cut but a few seconds later it started to gush. Luckily my mom is a very quick thinker and didn’t panic like me. She had me take him into the kitchen and we tried to hold a wet paper towel on it. Connor wouldn’t let us. My mom looked at it closer and said it will most likely need stitches. We got in the car and started towards the hospital. We got to our first stop sign and my mom said that the bleeding had slowed down and a butterfly band aid may do the trick. We went to Smith’s and she ran in. She couldn’t find any on the shelves so she went to the pharmacy to see if they had any. The pharmacist said she wasn’t sure and would look. My mom asked her if she had any steri-strips and the pharmacist looked at her like what is that. We were able to get some butterfly band aids from them and my mom showed me how you use them. We went back to the party because the bleeding had pretty much stopped and he wasn’t crying anymore. Tyler and I talked when we got back to the party and decided that going to the ER and getting it glued would be better. I wouldn’t have to keep on cleaning it and changing the band aids. So we sat down and ate then left. We thought we would be there till midnight or later waiting. We got there around 7:30pm and done by 8:40pm. When we got home Connor was running around and playing like nothing happened. He has been his self since then. He’s even fallen and ran into things since. I’m glad it wasn’t as big of an emergency as it could have been.

Wow! I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is going. It seems just like a month ago we found out I was expecting. The holidays have helped keep my mind off of things I need to be doing or want done before the baby comes.
At this appointment I have gained a total of 15 lbs. But I had lost 14 lbs. the first 16 weeks. So from my pre-pregnancy weight I’ve actually only gained 1 lbs. The doctor said that everything looks great. My belly is the right size and the heart beat is getting stronger. He also said he would like me to gain weight, but healthy weight and not all at once. He joked saying not to go and drink 3 chocolate milk shakes a day. He also said, “you want to be induce?” I told him only if the baby starts to get as big as Connor was. He then asked how big Connor was. I told him 8 lbs. 4 oz. He then jokingly but seriously said,” wow, we may end up inducing you a week early then. “
Now I will start to see the doctor every two weeks. I don’t feel like I did when pregnant with Connor. I can still do everything but lift stuff. It pulls my muscles the wrong way and is uncomfortable. Every time I try to hold or carry Connor, the baby starts to kick or poke me. I can definitely tell the baby is growing bigger every day. His kicks are getting stronger and in more places(like the ribs). I think my ribs are a little bruised cause of him. He doesn’t like it when I slouch or bend over for too long. Most nights I’m able to sleep in an position except on my belly of course.
This past Monday we went to the Smart Start class at the hospital. We both felt so out of place. I am glad we went though. We ended up getting the infant car seat for free. They said it was a Christmas gift from them to us. It’s way cute too.
So that everyone knows, we have decided on a name. I feel bad calling the baby “Baby”. Most of our family already knows cause we (I mean me), accidentally said his name once or twice. We have decided on Jacob Terry Clair. We have known since we found out we were having another boy. Right when we found out, the name Jacob popped into Tyler’s head. On our way back to the car he told me and at first I didn’t really like it. But Tyler kept on calling him Jacob and I slowly got used to it.
